I don't think Hermann’s group plans to use the cuckoo birds, for one thing granny was already towing the line and Zena, or whatever Arbiter that comes may decide to just off the J Corps execs and the red guys who played a part in this. More importantly is how the cuckoo birds work, as they’re name implies, they seem to rape and implant alien children in members of other species. Meaning there would need to be a pregnant women for them to implant, not just anybody would do. Additionally Gubo and Jian Huan's goal is to retrieve the golden bow from the family treasury, something that they are already allowed to do as candidates that survived the selection, but didn't win.
On the matter of Garion and her two claws. They killed the guests not because they were infected, but because they knew the bolus recipe. Which was why granny kept herself and Hong Lu blindfolded, deafened. I think it's more likely we end up in a race to the golden bough, and Jia Huan kills Lin Daiyu. Which is totally something Jia Huan would do as an act of vengeance since Hong Lu failed to save his friend and his younger sibling. Jia Qiu even makes a point about how he talks about wanting to meaningfully improve people's lives, but all he does is seethe and inflict suffering, so doing something like that is something I would totally expect. Huan goes out of his way to torture Hong Lu, ignoring the fact that he knows for a fact Hong Lu is just another victim. He has all the facts to realize that Hong Lu's shitty standoffish attitude was his way of trying to protect people since he had camera in his head 24/7, but he refuses to see it
