You could consider it very Jewish on Kim's part, but If its an actual case of quality over quantity in regards to animation, effects and generally being good then I suppose its justified? Especially if it means getting less shitty EGOs like Lasso Faust, Blind Obsession Ryoshu, etc. But we'll just have to wait and see.

Wonder if Sinclair will get a Waw version of Hong Lu or he'll get cucked yet again. Hopefully the other two egos will be different.

Also how big is their team to need to crunch? Pretty much everything is already implemented and the only thing remaining is art and design.

Normally, looking back at how previous seasons have shaken out, I'd say that I have no doubt about the quality of the story, at worst I'd imagine people being autistic about how it relates to the source material but overall the story would be good.

Now however, with both this and the delay for Walpurgisnacht I'm wondering if for some reason or another they had to rewrite parts of the story late into the production cycle, forcing them to remake some of the animations and that being the reason for this time crunch.

If I had to guess the overall improvment on quality of the art, animation, story and features they've been aimming for has let time and deadlines run away from them, wouldn't be the first time Kim Ji Hoons bitten off more than he could chew, causing delays in the product, and even then when they do deliver its more often than not good, I still think that overall Season 6 will be fine, but now less so sure whether or not it can continue with the tradition of the story content rivaling if not peaking previous seasons.

Regardless its clear that, for one reason or another, someone at PM has dropped the ball on this one.
 
So 2 less E.G.O, and instead more resources? And still no T5? Hopefully next season I guess. Wonder if they're going to be split between 2 abnos or 3. My guess 3, as that would make the other two Monkey Tree and the wound clerid coffin.
 
I'm glad El Director is prioritising quality cahntent instead of pushing out unfinished slop. Very excited for Hong Lu's mental breakdown!

In an interview (8 months ago) he stated 50
and for my thoughts on 6 egos turning into 4 thank god theres not gonna be another 9;2 ego type shit those two bargain big egos have been sitting on the bottom rotting

Don's canto smells of retcons, last minute rewrites and oh shit we forgot about this plot thread! And seeing as how dreams of the red chamber is such a gigantic book that not even the chinks know what the actual fuck it tried to say/do and original author dying before writting the ending doesn't help.
But hey, whatever kim cooks can't be worse than the original author spending 84500 words ranting about how buddhism sucks.....only for Jia Baoyu to end up doing buddhism rocks! out of nowhere and at the last second.

Lasso Faust is shitty because it rolls like ass, not because it's particularly low-effort compared to most other EGOs

I don't remember the retcons, I wasn't entirely immersed in the lore and just enjoyed the story as it was told, care to extrapolate?

Don used to be 5' something, then they made her 4' something, then they made her 5' something.

Also she clearly wasn't an amnesiac in the first 3 chapters.

I think her height was just a mistake. Wasn't the first time we were given an official height in the Hohenheim Intervallo? She was 160 cm then, then they made her 150 cm by accident on her mugshot, before upping it back to 160 cm. Also, I think you messed up your spoilers. Forget it, it was just my PC.

I'm starting to think souls exist in the City. The thing that matters is not the brain, but the consciousness, a.k.a. the soul, which allows people to use literal magic. You can see this with Dante, who may or may not have removed his brain alongside his original head - since he chopped it off in the middle of the woods - lost his memories, but still retains aspects of who he was (the star and schizo moments). This means Angela somehow gained an artificial soul for her to have an EGO.

Red chamber is a snapshot of Chinese feudal life and is structured like a slice of life Greek tragedy. It’s a lot easier to understand than Don Quixote for a Hangook, which is fucking impenetrable for anyone who doesn’t work in corporate or under the heel of the spanish aristocracy. Ironically, "Vampire going against his own nature" is probably the best modern portrayal of Don Quixote I'm aware of.

Also not to red chamber sperg but the book was always Buddhism rocks, you just chose the version with fanfiction, which is like if you put a scene at the end of Jacob’s ladder where the end is revealed to be another dream and he’s totally fine and the whole movie was pointless. I personally believe the author intended to not to wrap everything up in a bow because the story leaves off exactly where it said it would at the start. You know what's going to happen, and you know HL is totally fucked. Then the fanfiction comes in and ruins it.

People miss that red chamber is a bit like catcher in the rye. There's 3-4 different layers going on,

I have high expectations but only for crazy drama because it’s such a beloved piece of Chinese lit
