Finally had to do the railroad lol.
I liked my encounter 1 but I didn't have enough for AoE ego spam for the other envy fights, so that especially sucked.

@Fields Of Rye be like
Waiting for the season start to do the railway due to my heritage compelling me to maximise my gains. Are sinking teams viable for the railroad?

I'm still wondering how they'll introduce the envy peccatula into Mirror Dungeons. It would be cool if they incorporated the online aspect with teams generated by other players, it could even pull more frequently from your friends list. But that's probably more trouble than it's worth. In reality, it will probably be pregenerated teams made by the devs like the Refraction Railway. I comment on this because it seemed weird to me how they haven't revealed anything about MD in the PVs.

Just thought I’d post this since the significance of Third Spring will be lost on people who haven’t read the book (and I’m hoping I’m not messing this up either)

Third spring, In search of Spring, or “Girlboss Spring” is one of Hong Lu’s half sisters.

As the family declines, and money becomes tight, Sister Feng, (Xifeng, which literally translates to like, “Male Phoenix”) suffers a miscarriage, Third Spring steps up, and runs the family finances well enough that she’s able to keep things afloat without relying on Xifengs tax evasion and usury that was secretly keeping things afloat

Being only a half sister however, she is not kept in charge of the finances for long, and soon Xifeng takes back over. Third Spring is married to a foreigner and vanishes before they get raided by the Chinese IRS.

In the book, Third Spring is one of the hidden movers of Bauyu’s happiness , responsible for the Poetry Club, prolonging the house, and a Sardonic sense of wit and skillfully ability to transcend the typical limitations of her station. Unfortunately, for the family, since she’s not part of the family, they neglect her skills and marry her off.

Not sure who her guard is. There one guy in the book who basically goes Rambo on a bunch of bandits off screen towards the end but I don’t think he was named.

Also I like her dress. China dresses are too cool for how little they show up.

Haven't finished it yet but I really like the story node names having the same naming conventions as the chapter openings in the book.

Finished the first part, it's probably the most talking in a while but once gameplay is starting it's pretty sweet, not that the plot was bad. Right now sinking team is absolutely busted with how easy mode it makes the fights be (enemies will consistently have negative SP and you can use butterflies for massive damage) so it was smooth sailing. Seems like fixed character no longer need to be in the initial team, it's a shame since it means any Don buffs/debuffs won't really be experienced until the game forces the character in for a boss like against evil(er) Heath.

Yeah it's absolutely amazing and fun change after ignoring all the chapter names until now.

Also nice that they addressed it

Horse Gregor
Not as fearsome as Bear Heath.

Seriously tho this whole stage play section is so good and i love the interactions between don and the new characters
I hope we get an id of samson and atleast one of the animal suits

Base unit update, normal battles feel... good. Like, I just watched Faust get fucking bisected in one hit and didn't mind, SP buffs to replacements make characters like Mersault viable without making everything blunt damage.

Boss is causing issues though, I'm going to try running double Don and might have to use non-base passives. We will see.

You can tell they've stopped listening to korean sjw's.

Yes, I just wanted to make a bearcliff joke

Finished part 1 of Canto VII. Very excited for part 2.
The Bloodfiends family structure and use of blood magic remind me of the Tremere from WoD. The childer are bloodbonded to their sires, the Primogenitor is big daddy Cain, the First Kindred are the Antediluvians and the Second Kindred are the Methuselahs. Moses says the Bloodfiends aren't Distortions, so maybe they are something eldritch/from the Outskirts like the K Corp. Singularity?

I was under the impression that the OG bloodfiends are derived from nosferatu abnormality

I'm really digging it so far, I'm glad more of the focus is back to the sinner rather than NPCs and the situation. The pacing between story and fights has also been good too with a nice balance between exposition and battles without getting too much of either. The change to chain battles also helped certain units that need a bit to ramp up fair better like Der Outis and Phil Claire, Wildhunt really benefits from it because he can build coffins and actually take advantage of them.

As for the story, Bloodfiend Don being taught the ways of valor is an interesting angle, whether its the real Don Quixote, Sancho or Miguel I'm interested in how they play it. Obviously it goes very bad for whoever it is. In the play version of events Rocinante/Gregor seems to be more like Sancho and it makes me wonder if they're going to do something with Rocinante actually being a companion of Don, and Sancho not just being a simple guy following Don Quixote for an island. I'd like to see the cave of Montesinos and Puppeteer chapter be involved in the story since they both seem like they could fit well but its hard to tell where they'll go with what's pulled from the books. I like Sanson being around since he was basically the one who brought about the end of the novel, but I wonder if they'll play up the angle of him being a friend to Don/Bloodfiend Don or if he's just an antagonistic force.

I'm from the future. Calling it now, he's friendly and tries to bring don back to her senses, she kills him before eventually coming to her senses.
