I didn't see walpurgisnacht on the timeline. Don't really know how it works considering Sinclair was like 10 years old when Ruina happened. Plus like I said before, Sinclair already has an already broken burn ID, though cucking Philip is pretty apt.
People are speculating they'll do it next week since it's irl Walpurgis on 30th and 1st and the 30th is Philips birthday. They may have held it from the update notice as a surprise or it will be live the following week.

E: Meant timeline not update since that's only for this week

Just beat chapter 6. My new meta team is blade lineage yi sang + meursalt, liu ish + rodion, regret faust, oufi heath. Team literally does everything.

new mechanic had me paranoid for a couple fights, was afraid there was going to be a random speed check I had to use it for.
10/10 chapter imo, better than 3 and better than some of the best storylines in ruina.

It does make me wonder what's going to happen for Binah and Gebura
Gebura: Vergil joins the fight for a round.
Binah: Dante joins the fight for a round.

WALPURGIS IS HERE! El director has cooked.

We have the Philip ID with EGO awakening mechanics and two new EGOs for Rodya and Ishmael. As far as announcers we now have LC Yesod and the entire Molar Office crew from Ruina.
So no 00 ID? An ego mechanic would be interesting, the most apt way for it is having the character reach -45 SP and then win a coin flip.

I imagine it being as simple as do X to gain Y. In Library of Ruina Gebura's EGO needed her to constantly deal damage or become staggered. In this case it could be have X amount of sinking on self (Because Phillip) or maybe even have X amount of burn on self or the enemies. It's interesting how right after we have Vergilius manifesting his EGO in game we now have an EGO manifesting ID.

The issue I can see with this is that EGOs become too slow for the game, unless you have multiple waves before the boss then by the time you get to the EGO you already damaged and debuffed the boss enough to be a non-issue.

That's if you use the intended amount of sinners and turns. If you go solo or duo sinners then it can be more of a snowball effect since a lot of the ID kits are self reliant (Pequod Heathcliff is a good example). This all depends on how good the EGO awakening effect and skills are.

We have the Philip ID with EGO awakening mechanics

It might be 2 separate id's, they show his character art twice which makes me think that might be the case rather than some interesting new mechanic.

I think it's going to be like @Finger Pistols said, it will probably be another pseudo charge that you build with his Fixer form coins and then at turn start you flip to his EGO form. If it's based off of HP, SP, or status effects on enemies it could be very clunky or outright broken. Fixer Art is UT2- and EGO is UT3+ @Sulla

Plus we already have IDs that change sprites based on conditions. Like the R-corp or W-corp IDs based on the amount of charge they have.

Gebura got the card to use her EGO at emotion level 4, iirc. Xiao did too but hers popped automatically and didn't have any conditions to keeping it up while also being weaker.

I can fix her

Solo or duo sinners always looked too clunky to me. It boils down to surviving the first three rounds (usually by good evasion rolls or manipulating sanity to avoid stagger) and then nuking the enemy with insane damage multipliers.

Anyways having ego sinners might require its own classification and limitations. Also wondering if Don gets an Ego in her canto since the devs like to add gameplay features on those.

We did just have Heathcliff distort, so I could see Don getting EGO. Especially given how the source material is. I'm also wondering if "The White Moon" will show up as a new Color, though in the book that was just an alias Don's friend used to beat him up so he stopped being a knight. Maybe it'll just be Vergilius in a bedsheet.

If Don or other main characters get an Ego it will be interesting if it will function as an extension of the base ID.

I'm really interested to see what they do with Sanson and Don's Canto in general. He's good intentioned but the consequences of his actions are significant to story so I'm hoping they actually do something similar with him. You can also get at least two good fights with both Mirrors and White Moon, and he could work well as the end boss of her Canto too.

Writing this I also just thought since the images we see for her Canto preview and EGO background have amusement park rides you could have a house of mirrors which could tie into the Knight of Mirrors.

I'm late to the party, but this chapter was the best so far. Only gripe about it is that they have to stop having encounters with the enemies at 15 SP and they should add a quick restart button.
I can't tell you how much I restarted 6-34 cause I was losing the 50/50 on coin tosses for 3 coin skills.

Also, I have a confession:
I didn't legitimately complete the last two Cantos. The powers that be had me encounter bugs during the bosses.
My fight with Dong ended prematurely - IIRC all my sinners had turned into flowers and the end cutscene started w/ Yi Sang clashing with his EGO.
My fight with Ahab had Ish never dropping below 1 HP even with all the bleed stacked on her.

Anyways, I really liked the format of this Canto. The dungeon format from before was alright, but it was always such a pain to reformat your team since you have to go back to the last rest stop. I'd rather them keep boss fights as story nodes.

It's fine, back in Ruina I used the cheese strat to beat Pluto because he kept bugging out in phase 2 and I was sick of it. They're Project Moon games, at some point you gotta embrace the jank. Take the 300 Lunacy. Do not look behind the curtain.

Burn teams will definitely be significantly more powerful with this unit. It's interesting how it has more than one trigger for the awakening of the EGO, being at +45 SP or losing two teammates as @wtfNeedSignUp speculated.

I forsee Faust being a necessary unit in the team compositions including PhilipClair since 2 of her EGOs heal SP, she's also the only one that has a passive that is able to heal SP (Kromer Faust and butler Faust come to mind) potentially extending the use of his EGO and I'm not counting Middle-Meursaults assist since his SP healing requieres 2 IDs from the same faction.

Another big change for teams will be Rodya's scarlet desire EGO. Units, more specifically bosses, not loosing bleed count is already massive and it also gains buffs from the bleed. If Rodya gains a better bleed ID (That isn't her KK one) then it could definitely benefit more from the EGO passive.
