Finally got around to finishing chap 5.

tbh I was disappointed. The whole whale section with ahab should of been much longer, it felt really rushed. Like I was getting ready for the heart to come alive and be a phase 4.

I legitimately don't understand why they needed to delay this chapter.
Imo so far chap 3 > 4 > 1 >= 5 > 2

The only way Faust can know this is if she's an arbiter or a beholder.

They kinda fucked themselves by not adding a method to switch characters in the dungeon, so it's short and easy so players couldn't fuck over themselves with bad teams. Thankfully it will be changed in the future. I did like the end of the final boss, great way to tie plot and gameplay.

We're going to have Pursuance Rodion EGO next (hopefully with heals), and I'm going to bet next Id is 000 Sinclair Pip.

Its that time again...

Phew just finished Canto 5.

Personally speaking, I'm rating this 3rd in my tier list. 3 > 2 = 1 > 5 >4. I really thought that Ish was going to distort during the final fight. I really hope that PM allows ID switching in the middle of dungeons. I really gimped myself by bring a bunch of IDs that were fatal to pierce.
I really wonder if the sinners can distort. Would Dante be able to bring them back if they distort?

I played the new Mirror Dungeon, seems like the old ones are locked forever. Goodbye, easy gacha grind.

The new dungeon isn't bad but god it takes forever. Now it's recommended go steer clear of Pierce battles because the Pequod team is absolutely lethal on later floors. The ego gifts are spread so it's easier to specialise in a debuff, and some gifts come with an enemy boost (which I understood way too late after buffing enemies with 15% more health).

Its only floor boss gifts that come with the enemy buff, if you refuse them it picks one of them randomly for the enemies so there's no getting around it. I don't remember which node they're on but the time squad guys are annoying too with their health regen and the HP bloat. Seems like the trade off for one less floor is making fights more of a slog.

New MD rocks. Are you spending all of your Starlight? You can get cracked out pretty easily if you actually build things by using the stores, which is what the HP pools are tuned for. I actually feel like I'm playing a game now, I love it. Looking forward to hardmode next week.

So far, my experience with it was
Pick charge team > Pick charge starter item > Spend all cost on charge items and replacing as many of Heathcliff's skills with Quick Suppression because I don't have to buy 80% of my team anymore > Become God

I like ishmael more now.

Still love don for being active and optimistic, even in the face of pure horror

Cinq Outis and Sinclair announced.

Kinda wish it was before Canto 5 because they would have helped give more Pierce versatility. Hopefully they aren't duel oriented like Don. I am happy for Sinclair getting a somewhat normal association without being mind broken like every other of his IDs.

Heathcliff and Ish are probably my favorite Sinners, but I'm looking forward to Ryoshu and Meursault's Cantos the most ,as while we know they have depths, they're the most one dimensional sinners right now.
Other than Ryoshu and Sinclair getting along, probably because he's near young enough to be her kid, but almost 100% of their interactions are just Sinclair translating her autism.

While I think the psycho murderer thing they share in common could be interesting ground for their interactions, Ryoshu completely accepting that side of herself while Sinclair rejects it.
Since we got some Heath in Ish's Canto I'm hoping we get some Sinclair in Ryoshu's, it's not like she particularity close to any of the other Sinners.
Even Hong Lu is only really close to her in the World of W Corp where he asks her out.

New mirror dungeon is amazing. Really wished PM transferred some starlight for this new dungeon, but that's just a small gripe I have. Overall, I think it's pretty fun.

I've been running a bleed-envy team with Pequod Heath and Yi, Ting Hong, Little Sis Don, Chef Ryo, and N Corp Faust.
If they don't die to Don's fists of justice, then they just bleed out.

I feel that the Cinq units would be a little better if they pulled aggro to themselves for the unit they declared a duel on. Outis pulls aggro, but it's not focused on the unit she declares a duel on.

It's pretty awkward to use the dueling mechanic in anything other than an abno fight.

Its a bad archetype, Especially when you realize that each declare duel is unique and overrides each other.

The New Hard Mirror Dungeon was kicking my ass, had to restart since I got the Bull on floor 4 and run a different team.
The buffs to attack level, health, and power are pretty hard to deal with, but Bleed worked best for me. Bleed has Gossypium to shit can enemy attack and defense values, fully upgraded Clarid as an easy source of bleed and bleed count, and it's other tier 2 and 3 gifts are also good.
Fot Units, Pequod Heath, Middle Don, and Middle Meur are the core members. they all do bleed and make eachother stronger with their Envy focus as well as having really good counter skills and good health which is important to have as they don't have to clash and can intercept clashes while doing damage, inflicting bleed, and staggering.
Other good members are N Faust, R.B. Ryoshu, Pequod Yi Sang, and Hook Hong Lu.

Also similair to how we got an Abno relating to Faust in this Mirror Dungeon we got one for Yi Sang, Broken Wings which seems to be an aberration of Doomsday Calander
To get it's gift you have to step away and not pray at the statue and succeed on a check of 34 or 17 with a Wrath/Gluttony skill.

Also here is a link to the crafting recipes for gifts made by a channer on /v/: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...chvgk-uR5R-bOwAsN6_PdYk8Wcqd5fusaSRI/pubhtml#
The gifts only have a 55~66% chance of successfully fusing though, with the only 100% fuse chance gifts being the predetermined tier 4s.

Finished the hard mode, damn this shit takes a long time (I think 2 hours) and the only thing I had unlocked is the fourth item slot in the shop. Like before, my strategy was oonga boonga charge team, which worked well to win clashes but doesn't really output that much damage. Ended up against the fire preacher where the candles just bugged out by the end.

Damn the last floor had brutal debuffs. I chose 25% health increase since everything else amount to an increase between 1-4 coin values. Still the best strategy is to keep far away as possible from pierce humanoid battles since the enemies there are insane.

Wonder if plus defence improves counters.
