Am I the only one who preferred "Unnamed battle theme #10" over Saikai as a Canto song? Saikai feels more like an anime ending theme than a culmination of the tragedy of Ryoshu's life while the other is absolute S.A.N.G.R.I.A.

Crazy, but me aswell. After hearing it for the first time I thought it was the instrumental and the final stage would give it lyrics. Saikai is still really emotional but I feel like this could have hit even harder.

Not a big fan of Saikai either, though that may be because I find Cassie Wei's voice to be like nails on a chalkboard. Studio E.I.M have always just completely shat on the Milli when it comes to music for me.
With Saikai specifically though I remember when the song got leaked around the time Rien's sprites were put into the files (months before the Canto by the way) and there were constant arguments whether or not Saikai was some AI generated song from how absurd the lyrics and song were. I remember all the "S is for Sayonara hana de shiko" posting. Hilarious times.
I get it's supposed to be SANGRIA but this line in specific always made me think of cringy redditor weeb types, this one line in the song has done irreparable damage to it
Saikai sounds more like theme song from Rien's perspective than Ryoshu's. Which is one of the issues of the Canto that he was more of a spotlight character.
