And even the Soviets had to stop their anti-religious campaign eventually, when it became apparent that it was counterproductive because too many people were still religious.

Troons have absolutely no friends other than the poor saps they've manipulated and intimidated into compliance, or those too polite (translation, cowardly and morally weak) to call them out on their bullshit. At this point, pretty much anyone would go TTD if they knew there were no negative consequences for doing so.
