Honestly, I could imagine this being a social norm in some sort of fantasy Neo-Spartan masculinist warrior society.
Where you have to earn the privilege of becoming a pooner and partaking in the testosterone elixir of manhood through defeating an average male in a wrestling match or something.
Of course realistically this would filter out everyone aside from the occasional freak of nature, but it would be an effective way to teach a lesson.

Is there any reason that this "argument" couldn't apply to pedophiles? There is no clear, inherent link between either of these groups and LGB, but homophobes have justified homophobia by linking LGB people (rightly or wrongly) to these groups. Why not defend pedophiles too while you're at it?

There were a lot of pedophiles who attached themselves to the gay rights movement in the 80s. They got purged in the early 90s, and they were super salty about it. I remember SomethingAwful Weekend Webs on pedophile forums from the 2000s. And they were full of rank homophobia, from men who wanted to fuck little boys no less. But who were super insistent that this didn't make them gay. So here's a difference between the current trans movement and the gay rights movement of the early 90s, the gays were actually willing to purge undesireables. Maybe this was in part to make themselves look better in the eyes of conservatives, but who gives a shit about why they did it, it was the right thing to do. Trans activists are so obsessed with optics that they can't understand doing something because it is morally correct and not just because of how it makes you look in the eyes of others.

They don't understand either of those things, to be honest.

The fag/troon rights movement was always pretty loud about wanting to fuck kids, even before the 80s. The "Being against pedophilia," thing was an extremely recent development, and anyone sufficiently observant even then should have realized it had nothing to do with morality but optics.

The argument they're trying to make is that the conservatives that gay people have "allied" themselves with will betray them after TTD. They aren't allies, they just both hate troons. it's like saying that drinking water makes you a pedo because pedos drink water. Many conservatives hate troons because they associate them with gays. Telling them that the majority are actually heterosexual would break their brains or they'd support TTD even more.

The association isn't without reason. Gay marriage is a rebellion against nature and common sense, just as transgenderism is, just more subtle. Gays resent the inherent differences between male and female just as much as genderspecials do.

However, even at its most cynical, gays are not trying to jettison the troon/queer movement in order to appeal to conservatives, but to NORMIES. Yes, it's pragmatism, just like how the LGB movement had to disavow the pedophile movement in the 90s (despite being pretty loud about wanting to abolish age of consent laws before then). They can easily see that the most schitzophrenic predictions made on where the legalization of gay marriage would lead are coming to pass, most of it thanks to the troons and the genderspecials.

And they want to stop it, otherwise normies, the same normies who supported gay marriage out of misplaced empathy, will realize that the conservatives, even the christian fundies, had a point about gay marriage, and will recant their support and stop enabling fags.

Gays aren't trying to appeal to conservatives who were always leery of gays. They're trying to avoid losing the normies, the same normies that allowed them to obtain gay marriage in the first place. Especially since that goodwill was rather poorly earned in the first place, utilizing heavy amounts of proto cancel culture.
