In November 2019, the BBC's Newsnight arranged an interview between Prince Andrew and Emily Maitlis in which he publicly recounted his dealings with Epstein for the first time. The interview was recorded in Buckingham Palace on 14 November and broadcast on 16 November.Prince Andrew said that he met Epstein in 1999 through Maxwell; this version contradicts the account given by the Duke's private secretary in 2011, who said the two met in "the early 1990s".[The Duke said he did not regret his friendship with Epstein, saying "the people that I met and the opportunities that I was given to learn either by him or because of him were actually very useful"

Maxwell Guilty verdict means bad news for Prince Andrew’s civil case [a]
With the conclusion of the Maxwell case, attention will now turn to a U.S. civil suit in which the plaintiff alleges Maxwell and long-time boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein took her to London, New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands to have sex with Andrew when she was underage.
While U.S. criminal cases must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt, civil defendants can be ordered to pay financial damages if they are found responsible based on a preponderance of the evidence.

The verdict is problematic for Andrew because he has long been friends with Maxwell, Even after Epstein was charged with sex crimes, Andrew failed to distance himself from her.

Virginia Giuffre states that Jeffrey Epstein sex-trafficked her to Prince Andrew accepted a $500,000 settlement from Epstein in 2009 and agreed she wouldn't sue him or any other “potential defendant,” according to a court document unsealed Monday.
The Duke of York's lawyers say the agreement between accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre and Epstein should bar Giuffre from suing Andrew now. Andrew and Giuffre are likely to face cross-examination under oath by 14 July 2022 and a civil trial is possible before the end of the year 2022.
Pre-Trial​
Giuffre's lead lawyer, David Boies, said the 2009 settlement is "irrelevant" to the lawsuit against Andrew because it doesn't mention the prince by name. He said in a statement Monday that Giuffre's team sought to have the settlement made public to refute Andrew's argument that it absolved him of liability by implication.

The civil case will now move into a discovery phase where Andrew may have to sit for an interview under oath - known as a deposition.
Giuffre v. Prince Andrew , was settled out of court mere weeks from when the prince was going to give a witness testimony under oath.

I regularly falsely remember myself being molested by bongaloid royalty which then manifests itself into photographic evidence so I totally understand Andrew thinking they are just having false memories. Happens all the time between me waking up in sweat to see the sleep paralysis demon sucking out my blood and dreams of someone actually loving me.

To bad he is going to be a sacrificial lamb while the real perps go free, he will prob do an epstein or get a deal for comfy prison life. The general public will be happy with such a big sacrifice, be appeased and after a while life will go on but the real people behind the whole operation stay free and move to another island.

Andrew has settled a £6.6m debt with a French socialite allowing him to sell a Swiss chalet as he faces escalating legal bills over the sexual assault civil

Isabelle de Rouvre, 74, who sold the property to Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, in 2014 for a reported £18m, said: “The war is over. He has paid the money.”

Until the debt was settled, Andrew was unable to sell it. It is understood a buyer has been found and the sale is proceeding, but not yet completed. [a]
 
To Andrew's credit, if this had happened in Saudi Arabia and he'd be a Saudi prince instead of an Englishoid, none of this would matter and he could have boiled Guiffre alive and ate her for lunch with no one saying shit about it.

US lawyer John Burke, who is currently working at Legis Chambers in London, said the Duke’s lawyers "should be worried" about the deposition process as he had already, very publicly, set out his own narrative and if he deviated from it, could face a perjury charge.
“You are under oath,” he said. “That person can ask you anything they want and you remain subject to the pains and penalties of perjury.
“It’s not a process designed for people like Prince Andrew because if (the Newsnight interview) is how he behaves in a controlled environment, his lawyer should worry about what he would do in this environment.
“They can't stop it, they can't unplug the light for the camera. You can only register an objection you can't actually prevent the question from being asked. He cannot plead the Fifth (Amendment) or give no comment answers.”
Mr Boies told The Telegraph last week: “We’re looking forward to confronting Prince Andrew with his denials and attempts to blame Ms Giuffre for her own abuse, both at the deposition and the trial.”

I don't know how true any of this shit is, but its worthwhile reminding that he at least served Britian during the Falklands:

Prince Andrew remained on board Invincible to serve as a Sea King helicopter co-pilot, flying on missions that included anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare, Exocet missile decoy, casualty evacuation, transport, and search and air rescue. He witnessed the Argentinian attack on the SS Atlantic Conveyor.

At the end of the war, Invincible returned to Portsmouth, where the Queen and Prince Philip joined other families of the crew in welcoming the vessel home. The Argentine military government reportedly planned, but did not attempt, to assassinate the prince on Mustique in July 1982. Though he had brief assignments to HMS Illustrious, RNAS Culdrose, and the Joint Services School of Intelligence, Prince Andrew remained with Invincible until 1983. Commander Nigel Ward's memoir, Sea Harrier Over the Falklands, described Prince Andrew as "an excellent pilot and a very promising officer."

Andriano, 35, was one of four victims who testified at the sex-trafficking trial of Epstein second banana Maxwell. The former socialite was convicted and is awaiting sentencing, although she has launched an appeal.


But Andriano also had harsh words for Giuffre, waiving her right to anonymity.


“At 14 years old, I was big-breasted and I definitely could pass for 21 when I was made up,” she told the Daily Mail. “I did my own makeup, but Virginia gave me clothes. She gave me these really tight, skimpy shorts with a spaghetti-strap top with all my cleavage hanging out. She just said, ‘Whatever you do, don’t say your age.’ And I didn’t even ask why. I went along with it.”


She claimed that she and Giuffre gave creepy Epstein a nude massage and then Giuffre had sex with him.
