I hate saying one actress is the "Marilyn Monroe of X" because it devalues Monroe's legacy as an actress and a person. That said, there is one prominent exception for this rule because of their inspiration of a Hollywood blonde bombshell. Hell, she was Marilyn's idol herself.

Harlean Harlow Carpanter, better known as Jean Harlow (March 3, 1911 - June 7, 1937), the grandmother of Hollywood platinum blondes. Like Monroe herself, she is well known for her comedic, dry humor in such films like Red Haired Woman and Dinner at Eight.

The resemblance is uncanny.

99 years ago today, Norma Jean Mortenson, commonly known as Marilyn Monroe evolved herself from a loveless, unstable childhood living with 12 foster families, becoming a WWII factory gal to transforming herself into one of THE iconic blonde bombshell actresses in the 1960s.

Many have tried to replicate her pristine beauty and selfless generosity, but none have come close to replicate her timeless legacy and cultural impact from her graced time on this Earth. Happy birthday, Marilyn Monroe.

Marilyn's unfinished film before her death; Something's Got to Give.

Thank you preservation projects.

Also, happy birthday to Morgan Freeman.
Read this whole thread in Morgan Freeman's voice if you wish.

Since we're talking about other celebrities (I'm happy this is getting activity,) Diana Dors (October 23, 1931 - May 4, 1984) was Britain's answer to the blonde bombshell archetype.

You be the judge of it fits.

Rest in peace, Marilyn. She had a difficult life.
If anything, she's an advocate on why mental health awareness is important. I wish that the people that work in that field are stable themselves and don't just prescribe drugs as a solution, but that's neither here nor there. If somebody with her fame and luxuries could have mental health issues, anybody can, and Lord knows how THEY deal with it.
