Crypto has the potential to change that a bit. Obviously the scams are still plentiful, but I think the crypto sharing economy is growing in a way that actually allows the economics to work for the benefit of all parties.
Brave as an example, they aren't scamming people that collect BAT, the agreement is clear, see more adds, make a large percentage of the revenue. If you don't want to see the adds, that's your choice.
Or the growing defi projects that allow your crypto wallet to make small increments of tokens just for taking part. It's an overdue and sensible evolution in my opinion.
I'm not one to talk here since I'm one of the people who registered for Uphold because of Brave/BAT, but I'm not sure if I trust registering on Presearch itself with my email when the entire thing is supposed to be decentralised already.
It's not free though... companies are paying to advertise and you're opting in to get some of that. Besides, the amount they give you is minuscule. The idea is that if you get in early, that can inflate.
