Pretty much. No matter who wins, the other character will cease to exist. When death battle had superman win, there strongest argument was that supermans story was about whether or not he was doing the right thing, not whether or not he was the strongest, because ultimately he could physically deal with his foes but not always spiritually. With Goku vs Saitama, Saitama would win, but that's only because Goku losing wouldn't make his character cease to exist.
