It
definitely wasn't enhanced mode, I've never gone beyond playing Monday on that mode.
I have a suspicion my brain is just conflating stuff across several days from both PL
and AWP, but I've still been looking around for AWP-adjacent mods. I know I haven't figured it out because nothing I've loaded up while experimenting has had, for example, the Lynx/Zippo flamethrower in any of the public toilets on Monday.
I've settled on using xPatch3.1 on v5100 for now to get the anniversary stuff (putting Grenades in cats, etc). Still haven't finished Monday with it just because I really wanna get VtMB done first to free up my gaming time a bit more.
There seems to be so many different releases over the years mixed in with mods that it's hard to track what was RWS's work or modders
P2 would have always been extremely bland if not for the weapons the modders added
This exact thing threw me for a loop a year or so ago when I originally made this P2 frankenstein's monster I'm trying to recreate:
I somehow got my hands on a GoG installer for some early version of P2 that could only run in 4:3, and was missing a lot of "non-essential" level geometry like the railings going up the stairs across the street from the Dude's house. I think it may have been the ShareThePain release, or even the original? Seeing that version brought back the memory that even the copy my ex had used to introduce me to P2 had MadJackal's bong and Eternal Damnation weapons.
It was kind of a shock seeing just how primitive and empty the OG release was, especially since the sandboxy-ness and weapon hunting are the major reasons I enjoy P2 so much, and all that stuff that made exploration so fun was 'added later'.
Edit: I think that's also why I don't hate P4 like most people did, because at the end of the day I'm really playing Postal for the sandbox parts. I mean shit, my "GloboJews go home" profile banner is from my favorite P4 mission where you graffiti a bunch of billboards.
