https://youtube.com/watch?v=NepjoMy6LOgSomehow they consistently manage to have some of the most unsuitable music for their trailers. Are these bands just MikeJ's buttbuddies? The shit that plays over Postal 2's credits is also awful and doesn't fit game's tone.
At least the credits theme for Paradise Lost was pretty cool.

I played the demo to Fortune's Run a few months back because anything free and Boomer Shooter is just something I'll check out. I didn't get very far because the game is ugly as hell and trying to build something immersive sim-ish within the confines of looking like a Doom Engine shooter just doesn't seem to work. While writing this I almost declared that it's stupid to make a heavily storybased FPS when you're dealing with characters shown as 2D Sprites, but that'd be wrong because Fallen Aces is coming soon and looks awesome.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=B48V6GARGdMI mean damn such great 2D Art. All the enemies look like they're straight out of a comic book and brief glimpses of extra animation make it shine. And then you got this shit
https://youtube.com/watch?v=_czOAL7d0BUDoing a Boomer Shooter doesn't permit your game looking like ass. Dusk might have been an ugly ass game but that came out 5 years ago and was acclaimed for its level design more so that it looking like a Quake total conversion mod.
Fallen Aces looks great but I wish that the protagonist would STFU. He's really not doing it for me.
Also, the voice actor at the end of the Fortune's Run trailer didn't sound like a real woman but maybe my troondar is overzealous.

Didn't see the trailer yet, but I presume it's Mike J's nu-metal band, same as the tracks in Postal 2. Genetic cost cutting at it's best.

I'm reading this, I'm into the ideas, and then dude took a turn.
How about the Dude goes into a shop for his daily dosage of banana and due to the carelessness of the shop he slips on a banana peel and accidentally knees another shopper.

He apologizes and then leaves the shop.

Unless you for some reason wear the cop uniform the game provides, then expect a city riot with you as the target.

Is there a preferred order for a first timer to play the postal series? Just start at the beginning and go through it? Do the 1 remake first? Thanks friends.

Postal 4 was like a face-lift of Postal 2 to today.
It’s not only that, I can’t verify which stream Mike said it on originally but apparently Postal 4 was originally going to just be a full on remake of 2, and he didn’t mention this part but it was being developed during the near bankruptcy times of RWS so it can be assumed that they just slapped a 4 on it, changed a few objects in the build and then went straight to the kickstarter. Also, the only thing I liked about 4 was the option to use Zack Ward as the VA, everything else was just janky in a “free unity game” as opposed to the fun jank of Postal 2.

Found a pic of Muta in 4.

Depends. The original game is a lot of fun but very different from its sequel. You don't really lose anything by playing them out of order.

I would say start with 2 if you're more interested in playing a soft open world exploration mayhem type game, start with 1 if you want something more arcadey.

The audacity of these faggots, they haven't made anything worthwhile after Paradise Lost but somehow think their shitty games are so superior to muh pOsTaL 3, they have to constantly remind us of how le bad xDDD it was.

May I play devil's advocate? Going off of critic scores does a disservice to the Postal series because critics ALWAYS hated these games. Every single PC gaming mag back in the day just shat all over Postal 1 and 2. The scores were about the same back then too, hovering in the 30's and 40's. The user scores are more trustworthy in this example regarding Postal 4. I bought it when it was in early access and it ran so poorly I gave up after a few attempts and even now I haven't bothered to install it because I don't know if the horrifically bad optimization issues were ever fixed.

Yeah I agree 100%, I posted that image for the user scores alone.

See, the thing is, Postal 2 hasn't really ever been funny at-face. What was funny about Postal 2 was how much people freaked the fuck out about what's in it. All of the jokes, offensive or not, are pretty childish. Taliban living above a corner grocery store that engage in indian whooping and yikking and milking satanic man-udders and endless bidet jokes and blowing up video game critics -- sure, when I was 14, that was the pinnacle of humor. What was actually funny was how worked up people got over it, if you go back and read some of the articles written about it. What's kept the game afloat is that the core mechanics are fun enough, and the whole thing has a quaint charm. I don't quite laugh at what's in the game, but I laugh at the fact that they had the nads to put it in the game and that people shit their britches about it. Plus, you know, constant now-and-then updates which make it a genuine anomaly.
To me, I imagined the novelty of Postal II came with its upfront absurdity on hot button topics while basing its open world premise on doing everyday tasks in a crapshoot excuse of small town America. What other game can you think of where you pick up milk, use a cat as a silencer, sign petitions and experience suicidal Islamic bombers in one sitting? Meanwhile, the game is intentionally janky to where that's part of its charm.

It makes sense, but it DOESN'T make sense all at once. It's certainly a product of its time given how mainstream gaming has become with political correctness and topical humor. The joke's on RWS, intentional or not, given how IV in comparison to Postal II in almost every way. It's not funny having a broken game when AAA games are regularly released broken at the consumer's expense. It's not "shock humor" when you go out your way to avoid offending a particular demographic for social points.

As an aside, I just noticed that Postal IV has a PS4/5 release. Why not a NS or Xbox release?

RWS is still crying about Postal 3, but people are forgetting THEY wrote the script for the damn thing. All Attila did was actually make it into the game, or rather failed to anyways. All the dead baby jokes and other cringe in that game came from the RWS, no matter how hard they will try to deny )
Well sort off, the thing is that with P3, Akella, or more accurate Trashmasters, used SOME of RWS script in the games development (for example the unknown voice that spoke to the Dude was supposed to be a shrink), how much of their script is up for questioning as some of the jokes def felt like they were aimed at the Russian gaming audience than just US based one.

Maybe if he stopped crying about Postal 3(that used their own script btw) and focused more on polishing and making Postal 4 more interesting, then people wouldn't be shitting on them so much.
What's the skinny on that "I Regret Nothing" podcast? It emanates the same air of failure and fake-internet clout from internet nobodies that Vickers' podcast does
