Global warming real, terrorism no. I guess I am imagining the extremely cold winters of late and all the muslims going jihad. Yep must be a hallucination from the devil's rock and roll!

This pope is absolutely atrocious. Like, goddamn. Seriously one of the worst popes the Church has had in recent times. Stop using your position to push your views, idiot, that's not what the papacy is about.

At least I know there are many Catholics (both lay and within the Church hierarchy) who do not put up with his shit. I just hope his papacy goes by quick before he fucks up the Church too much.

Why did Benny XVI have to resign? :(

Interestingly, there is an actual movement within the Church hierarchy to "impeach" (they use a different term) Francis since he's done a lot of shit to piss off the Cardinals.

Friar Cuck is at it again. I honestly don't know why the guy is so desperate to gain the approval of people who aren't believing Catholics and who hate his church anyway. Reminds me of a certain US political party, prior to the Trumpening.

Because regardless of what you think of the current one; Ratzinger was the one in charge of hiding the paedos before he was pope and thus should be in some sort of prison.

Sedevacantism
is the position, held by a minority of traditionalist Catholics,[1][2] that the alleged present occupant of the Holy See is not truly pope due to the mainstream church's espousal of the heresy of modernism and that, for lack of a valid pope, the see has been vacant since the death of Pope Pius XII in 1958.

continued...

I was actually going to see if I could track down some of the semi-obscure cows who hold this theological position and maybe start a thread here on these people. Only problem is they're mostly pretty old and aren't really on social media much. Plus they tend to veer from exceedingly obscure theological points to Jew baiting only rarely these days. They're kinda boring , in fact.

The fact that they, y'know, claim to be Catholic while simultaneously denying both the legitimacy of close to sixty years of popes and the authority of the episcopacy to elect popes as always kind of amused me, though. Guess they're more on the order of personal cows than anything else.

However it would seem their position explains the Catholic Church as well as anything these days so...who the fuck knows?

I've heard tell that inside the Curia there's powerful factions of pederasts and homosexuals, by virtue of both the Church turning a blind eye to child abuse (to maintain the image) for decades and the fact that homosexuality is rampant in the seminaries. Priests not being allowed to marry gives rise to a lot of people with urges they want to repress, both gays and kiddie fiddlers, who often have common cause in desperately wanting to avoid being outed.

Once you get involved with any of that stuff, somebody effectively owns you, and you may own others, for life due to the disaster that occurs if it ever gets out. Keith O'Brien, a Scots cardinal was forced out when some gay shenanigans that went on at seminary were "accidentally" made public.

The theory goes that this creates an effective network, by now easily reaching the College of Cardinals (see O'Brien) and the Curia, and Ratzinger started cooperating too much with the authorities. He himself was almost certainly not subject to blackmail, but he was a frail old man by the time he called it quits, possibly under some pressure.

First the Pope says something agreeable like "teaching gender nonsense in schools is immoral" and then he says "Islam is not a problem".

Maybe. I'm not arguing he was a good person. All I'm saying is that his papacy was better because during it he limited himself to theological matters and relaying the Church's teachings (i.e.: What the pope is meant to fucking do), instead of using it as a platform to soapbox about his political views and alienating millions of Catholics in the process.

Then again, probably anybody would do it better than Francis.

Huh, this is some Catholicism I could almost get behind.

Here's the whole quote with context.

"The other is a reflection that I shared at our most recent World Meeting of Popular Movements, and I feel is important to say it again: no people is criminal and no religion is terrorist. Christian terrorism does not exist, Jewish terrorism does not exist, and Muslim terrorism does not exist. They do not exist. No people is criminal or drug-trafficking or violent. “The poor and the poorer peoples are accused of violence yet, without equal opportunities, the different forms of aggression and conflict will find a fertile terrain for growth and will eventually explode.”(EVANGELII GAUDIUM, Para. 59) There are fundamentalist and violent individuals in all peoples and religions—and with intolerant generalizations they become stronger because they feed on hate and xenophobia. By confronting terror with love, we work for peace.

I ask you for meekness and resolve to defend these principles. I ask you not to barter them lightly or apply them superficially. Like Saint Francis of Assisi, let us give everything of ourselves: where there is hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, let us sow pardon; where there is discord, let us sow unity; where there is error, let us sow truth."

Oh so instead of Muslim Terrorism doesn't exist, it's the old: "Don't blame them for violence and rape, its a product of their culture, class, and upbringing" How are you supposed to get Catholic converts if they don't think they have any sins to confess?

You're still missing the point - what he's saying is no people is irredeemably evil, and that as good Catholics we should turn the other cheek. It's classic stuff.
