If Plasma were seemingly commies in BW, then shit, they looked full-on nazbol in BW2. That aside...

In the same case, Platinum is mine, and I get the same exploratory feelings from those games as I am now feeling playing through Hoenn. In fact, the water is non-issue; so much of the region is opened up once you get Surf (as is the case with any Pokémon game), but with RSE in particular... Let's just say I can understand the villainous teams autistic goals. There is a lot the game offers on land and sea.
I get why people think the sea routes are bland, but I love Dive, at least in concept. (Shame they never used Dive in Alola.) And who doesn’t love the Regi sidequest/Sealed Chamber?

I'm torn between Platinum and B/W. I think I said this before, but Sinnoh has a great atmosphere, a cool pantheon, memorable trainers. The only thing I can think of is that I'd want is if there was more of the Distortion World, maybe you could explore Dialga's dimension of time, or Palkia's dimension of space, where movement is similarly confusing. Or that all the god damn event legendaries were possible to get. New Moon Island's cool as hell, running along the flower road for Shaymin is great, and the Azure Flute is chilling. Also the Underground system was really great, having a cooperative or competitive experience with my brothers as a kid was fun.

Unova doesn't exactly have all that, but for the most part it's the first time a region really felt alive. At least in Castelia City, there are finally enough buildings and NPCs running about that I could be convinced the population isn't just 5 or 6 people. It still has some cool Pokemon though, I like the creativity behind Garbodor and Vanillish, along with others. And they gave some helpful evolutions to Pokemon that kind of needed it, though I wish they focused less on Gen 1, like every freaking game does. I never figured out how the weird link system or whatever worked in that game. When I first got it, I thought the game had genuine coop, or at least you could run around in someone else's world, but I don't think it was anything like that.

And that reminds me of the Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia DLC, featuring Palkia.

tl;dr: Every area transition abnormally leads you to a different location, which you ultimately find out is the work of an enraged Palkia.

If that was incorporated into a main game dungeon or hell, go all out with an event, that would be awesome for sure!

For a update on the Emerald playthrough, took down Wallace at the start of the week.

The Kirlia is/was totally intentional, and got its shit kicked in by Wailord. Hell, the entire Pokémon League. However...

Like the topic after this, the Master Contests were a pain in the ass, but the Museum sidequest was taken care of too! Shoutout to @Suburban Bastard.

Currently, I've blitzed through all but one of the Battle Frontier's facilities:

Pokemon - Emerald Version (U).png

Got both of those useless shields for the Secret Base from Scott. 100 battles of Battle Tower hell, with the ninth circle being those 3 battles against Anabel.

However, to treat things like the anime, I'm finishing this RNG shitfest with the Battle Pyramid.

Posting an honest question here.

In both versions of the Battle Frontier, which facilities annoyed you the most?
The Battle Palace and Battle Pike. The latter is just the future Battle Arcade on crack with exploration features, whereas the godforsaken former... is a good way to vent, so to speak. And I must say, the Factory, Pike, and Pyramid have some fantastic music, which you'll be hearing a lot of.

And to conclude, holy shit, these Battle Facility AI know. I've been rocking a Manectric-Metagross-Salamence core for most of my blitz, and God, I just tell when the Earthquakes, Fire Blasts/Overheats, and literally any Ice-type attack is coming.

Attachments are busted, homie.

Why Manectric over Swampert?

Have you tried Jolteon?
Hindsight is truly 20/20. But, I'm almost done anyway; another run through the pyramid and I'm fighting Brandon for the Sliver Symbol.

The result would probably end up the same way against those Quick Claw Earthquake users anyway. After all, there is no way that Forretress, Aggron, etc. are faster than Manectric or Jolteon. Lol at the Earthquake/Ice Beam Slowkings too.

Seriously, that's always how they KO you. Quick Claw. You EV train your speed like a bitch and you're shot down by a Snorlax with Earthquake who just happens to get the first move at just the right moment. The AI is arguably more frustrating than playing at pro. At least in a pro match, the algorithm isn't desperate to fucking destroy you.

Pokémon direct on August 18th to cover the Pokémon BDSM and Legends. 28 minutes

Betting on it that the 28 minutes will be 20 minutes of BDSP gen 4 nostalgiabait using side by side comparisons between it and DPPT, and 8 vaguely detailed minutes of Legends.

And that is exactly the reason as to why the Battle Palace is the most bull; you have no control (screw the inner mechanics, it's just RNG), your Pokémon can just not move at all, and on top of all that shit AI gets the lucky roll to pop a QC after 6 Curses and a Double Team.

Fuck me, and I almost forgot about the Brightpower. That shit will cause you to believe that you're a schizo.

But alas, it's over. Beat Brandon for the Gold Symbol, and got the two berries from Scott. Let me show, however, the bs that is Battle Pyramid.

My Salamence isn't even trapped via being wrapped, I just can't escape from a Pokémon with 5 base speed. My Ninjask couldn't even flee from some Forretress while I was on the level that contained Pokémon with self-destructing moves.

Ah, yes, Brightpowder! When your 100 accuracy Flamethrower fucking MISSES on the very first dipshit you have to body. That one Pokémon that has it, you'll be lucky enough to be phased instead of a KO.

Or, worse, Focus Band. You think the bastard is going down like a bitch, then all of a sudden, you get a face full of Counter or Mirror Coat, or even a Reversal. One Heracross nailed my whole team that way once. First, Megahorn my Latios, then my Swampert, and when my Metagross hit it, boom, I click on my save state. If it's the very last Pokémon you have, that's where you'll start to believe the game loves to troll you.

The Battle Palace IS frustrating, but, you have to understand that it's indeed important for your mon to have the right nature. Adamant Pokémon have a higher chance of using physical moves. Modest for special.

As for the Battle Pyramid, being trapped is part of the mechanics, unfortunately, which is why it's best to have a Dodrio that knows Runaway.

Also, a Linoone with Pickup. Finally, the third slot should be the main force of your team. Like your Salamence.

This is mine:

I think I might have mentioned it earlier in this thread but there was one battle facility (forgot which one and the game) where my entire team got btfo’ed by a Crawdaunt with a quick claw and guillotine that just happened to always activate and hit accurately. Probably one of the biggest bullshit moments I ever encountered in a video game.

General Pokemon question, but has it always been a thing where you have to go to an NPC's house to nickname your pokemon? Haven't played the most recent generation so I'm not sure if it was ever changed

The 252's are on HP and Special Defense

Not sure why Guillotine would always hit you, as that move was no longer based on speed by the time Gen 2 came around.
