I am not a fan of the 3D chibis sprites but I may get at in the end. I really doubt there be gimmicks like GMax or anything.

The field sprites look like Mighty Mug's.

They cannot do that without Game Freak's permission. Game Freak has partial rights to the series, and the company itself does not belong to Nintendo(which is why they have released non-Pokemon games on non-Nintendo systems)
What about Creatures Inc?
My hope here is for GF's game to turn out like shit and the externally developed remake to overtake it in sales, I feel that would finally shake up management and cause the big N to consider outsourcing the license to companies that give a shit.
If there was a title that I wished that would succeed a th expense of the others, that would be Pokémon Legends (and New Pokémon Snap). Despite the choppy Chingling, having a true open-world and a different way of doing things would give Pokémon a much needed breath o fresh air.

One thing that I know will bug me is that ORAS and (presumably) the Sinnoh remakes won't take into account the third version of the games. ORAS never took Emerald into account and I bet a twenty that Platinum won't be taken into account, except for the Griseous Orb. One step forward, two steps back I guess.

I’m undecided on the D/P remakes but the new Snap game looks really fun. Snap would be perfect for DLC later down the line. New islands with different Pokémon, new camera filters, car upgrades/customization etc etc.

Now if we could get a decent stadium style game that would be fantastic, but I’m not about to hold my breath.
Stadium is dead. Its only function was so that people could play Pokemon on their big TV screens. The Switch already does that with any Pokemon games released, so there's no need for Pokemon Stadium anymore.

I'm actually pretty interested in this Legends game, since I really enjoyed Breath of the Wild, but my main concern is how empty the overworld seems to be. It's definitely something I'll keep an eye on, and given that it's still a year out from release, I'm sure it'll be improved a lot over the coming months, so I have high hopes for it.
This is generally how I feel as well. In an ideal world the fact that they're now doing more outsourcing also means that the main team can put more care into legends. As for the gen 4 remakes, I never cared to begin with and I still don't now since it looks like it's not going to offer anything worthwhile if you already played a gen 4 game.

Oh I know stadium is dead, but it would be nice to have a stadium like game again. With all the different types of battles and rule sets you’d think Nintendo would be all over that.
plus the mini games and Gameboy Tower were great.

Honestly I’d like to see the TCG on Switch but apparently that’s asking too much.

Honestly, I don't think G Maxing or whatever it was called in Gen 8 will return. Not sure about Megas, but I wasn't a huge fan of Mega Evos since I never used them in my plays in Gen 6. I am sure Poffin making and contests will return however.

RIP the switch's touch screen, game better come with a stylus if they are back

A throwback stylus with Palkia/Dialga on top but made for the Switch would be a really cool nod to the OG Diamond and Pearl. They released with a special stylus with the box legendary on top since they were the first DS titles. I still have my Palkia stylus from all those years ago and use it if I ever get out my 3DS.

Frankly it's unacceptable for the Sinnoh remakes to look like.... that when Link's Awakening exists. That game proves that you can do nice-looking cutesy chibi 3D graphics for the world map on Switch. This game on the other hand would've looked outdated if it were released 5 years ago.

The open-world game SOUNDS interesting, but it's Gamefreak developing it so there's no point getting excited. Be happy if it does indeed turn out to be good, but do not be surprised if it's a completely mediocre effort. If anything I wish they'd farmed that one out to another studio instead.

Gmaxing was literally written in-story to be a region-specific gimmick so I'd be very surprised if it made it back as a regular mechanic.

you say that, but so was Z-moves and arguably mega-evolution.

In short, opinions are very mixed on these new games, but I personally think people are going to warm up to them.

This is probably the best course of action for the remakes in the long run. I feel like if they tried anything too weird or different with it, it would have pissed off more people. I honestly prefer the new artsyle. It gives homage to how the games used to look rather than try and go for the SWSH look. Its just enough to give gen 4 fags like myself that nostalgia methane we've been craving for.

Now if they butcher the ost then we'll have a problem.

>IP generates literal billions of dollars
>can't afford to make trees for the game and take shit from free assets
>give characters even less animations
>make assets so they can be re-used for a freemium mobile game
>expect people to pay 60 dollars

You would think the Switch's success would translate into them trying to push their studios to break new ground, but holy shit is this a lazy ass attempt. Get your fucking act together, you could have made this exact same game on the Nintendo 64 just with less texture resolution. Hell the fucking Gamecube Pokemon games walk all over this.

You're literally making this previous cash grab look competant

Like what the fuck, what are you doing over there? Are the japanese drug laws not strict enough?

Here now this is a fucking remaster done by Monolith who has not even 1/8th of the budget Pokemon had
