Sword or Shield, depending on which exclusives you want.I'm debating. Let's Go Eevee and Shield? Or pass
i think most of gen 5's designs were pretty good overall. They tried to match a lot of the vibes of gen 1 designs and "design archetypes" but it turned into a really memorable region tbh.Samurott, Scolipede, and Volcarona are some other great Gen 5 designs.
serebii is dying a slow death anyways.Serebii put out their competitive Pokemon of the Week for the week and it's the mascot of the site Celebi. It has such 10,000 IQ advice such as run HP Fire and Celebii's biggest threat being Greninja. In Sword and Shield. A game that contains neither of these things.
I'm guessing that they copy-pasted some of it from Gen 7's PotW but damn.
As far as i'm concerned, Serebii never had any forum attached to it. It's just a guide-oriented Pokemon website.serebii is dying a slow death anyways.
I geared up for the battle with Roxanne in Rustboro, and happened upon a Skitty on Route 116 who I named KariKamiya (there is no space because of the character-limit).
Yeah when I still used the site I never even considered whether it had a forum or not. To me the most memorable part of serebii is that the UI has, as far as I know, never ever been updated and it likely never will until the day it finally dies. It's just an ancient relic of early 2000s internet that is still alive. As far as i'm concerned, Serebii never had any forum attached to it. It's just a guide-oriented Pokemon website.
SIGSEGV is no longer canon. Remove it.I decided to start a nuzlocke on Emerald; the rules that I set for myself are the following:
Overall the rules are pretty lenient; this is my first nuzlocke and the first time that I have played Pokémon in ages, so I wanted to start small.
- I have to permanently box any Pokémon that faint.
- Only the first Pokémon in a route or area can be caught; if it faints or flees then I have to move on.
- If I encounter a Pokémon that I already own: I can continue battling until I find one that I do not own.
- Shiny Pokémon do not count as encounters and can be caught freely.
- Stationary Pokémon (i.e. Pokémon that can be fought by interacting with them) can be caught freely.
- Gift Pokémon and Eggs can be accepted freely.
- Traded Pokémon can be accepted freely.
- Style must be on "Set" at all times.
- My Pokémon cannot exceed the highest level of the next Gym Leader's Pokémon MINUS ONE, and cannot exceed Level 45 until I initially fight the Elite Four.
- Any Pokémon that I obtain have to be nicknamed after members of the Kiwi Farms (I am feeling overly sentimental given recent events).
I picked Treecko as my starter and named it Riku, defeated May without any issues, and got started on my journey. On Route 101 I encountered a Wurmple, but Riku decided to land a Critical Hit and kill it; I ended up going to Route 103 for an encounter and got a Poochyena (who I named SIGSEGV). After that I headed west on Route 102, where my first battle was with a Zigzagoon (nicknamed Sundae). Another Wurmple appeared on Route 104 and this time I caught it; I named it AnOminous because the thought of that is funny to me. AnOminous ended up evolving into a Dustox quickly. Petalburg Woods was a breeze, and I caught a Shroomish there; it was named rotollo. I geared up for the battle with Roxanne in Rustboro, and happened upon a Skitty on Route 116 who I named KariKamiya (there is no space because of the character-limit).
The battle with Roxanne made me a little nervous because I always had trouble with the Nosepass. My strategy ended up being to equip a Quick Claw to rotollo, sweep the Geodudes, and then paralyze the Nosepass with Stun Spore and use Leech Seed to whittle it down while keeping my health up; after that I spammed Absorb to get the win. Originally I was going to have KariKamiya use Attract, but she and the Nosepass are females; SIGSEGV was going to come in with Sand Attack if I had trouble which never ended up happening.
I also caught a Whismur in Rusturf Tunnel and named it "Ron Toye", because @Ron Toye is always on the verge of explouding. An Ultra Ball that Sundae picked up was used to contain Ron's overwhelming masculinity. Whether or not Ron will join the party remains to be seen. I might replace SIGSEGV with Ron because the former has a Modest Nature (Poochyenas are physical, not special) and almost died while I was trying to catch the latter.

The time is high because I had the emulator sped up.
So far no one has died so that is great, but I expect that there will be some losses from here on out. This has been an interesting experience so far, and I hope to see it through to the end.

Because it's entire bulk (HP/Def/SpD) is lackluster to say the least with SpD being the worst offender. If those stats don't get some love and attention, even with a boost it's not gonna survive long. The goal with the set I made is to send it out against an unboosted opponent (preferably as the first pokemon just to test the waters and see what your opponent is trying to do, unless your opponent is ridiculously obvious by having pokemon like Skarmory or Ferrothorn, which ALWAYS goes first). Without EV's, at lv100 it's HP is 281, which unless your name is Shuckle with it's immensely high Def/SpD, it's gonna drain FAST, especially when it's Def/SpD is 166/146 respectively. 16 EV's in Speed give it 220, which is good enough for most things that aren't top tier, and this is assuming you have other pokemon on your team that can finish the job Delcatty was in the middle of working on before it died. 16/96 EV's in it's Def/SpD brings them both to an equal 170, which with a single 1.5x boost with Cosmic Power brings it to 255 evenly. That, combined with its 132 EV's in HP (which brings it to a better 318 ) means you can keep Delcatty in the field long enough for your opponent to go "wtf?!?!" because by then you'll have the element of surprise to your advantage while your opponent figures out what to do against something it's likely never seen before. Why not put more EVs in Speed?
I've made it a rule to not have duplicates, so there's no replacing my little Jiggly. If you want to get another (assuming you can; I dunno what rules you have in place) then you will have to wait until Kanto; you can get Jigglypuffs on Routes 3 and 4. If you had been playing Crystal then you could have gotten another while in Johto (Routes 34 and 35).
I would've waited till I encountered a Machop to name it SIGSEGV.I decided to start a nuzlocke on Emerald; the rules that I set for myself are the following:

Any little cuck catches you plan on naming @FuckYou?If SIGSEGV the Poochyena dies and I catch a Machop: my head-canon will be that the soul of the former reincarnated into the latter.
So t;dr of the plot is... Team Plasma was right? Goddamn, some of these fight scenes are brutal. The Pokémon masks and the goons wearing them remind me of Hotline Miami.did anyone see that
