I hop on the online TCG every once in a while. Pack codes are cheap since they tie everything to the physical TCG instead of selling cards directly. I wonder if Champion's Path will end up with any meta-defining cards like how Shining Legends had Zoroark-GX last gen.
It’s unlikely, the set only consists of 73 cards (plus 5 secret rares). Two cards I could see being used are the new Galarian Obstagoon (has an Ability that forces your opponent to discard cards from their hand until they have 4 left) and Galarian Cursola V (has an Ability that puts 3 damage counters onto your opponent’s Pokemon whenever they attach an Energy from their hand to them). The former has use in Dark decks whilst the latter will probably end up in a gimmicky rogue deck that functions with Biting Whirlpool Arctozolt.

The minute you mentioned ”...Fire Deck in a format where a Pokémon wholly immune to Fire damage exists” I could straight up tell that the video in question featured a MelCario deck and I’m glad to see that I was right.

Also, it’s worth noting that Zamazenta V would’ve also been immune in this match if his opponent evolved Centiskorch V into Centiskorch VMAX via its Dauntless Shield Ability.

I think that second thing happened later in the day to somebody else.

Haven't played a Pokemon game since gen 3 but I've been playing through Platinum recently for the first time and...its not so good. The basic gameplay loop is the same which is still enjoyable but something just doesn't click, maybe all the little annoyances are adding up to a bad experience. There are way too many HMs and exploring the map is more annoying than previous generations. Doesn't feel like they added anything of substance other than a bunch of pointless side activities I couldn't care less about. The new Pokemon designs all feel uninspired and lame (though maybe thats my nostalgia talking).

I just got done with the Ice gym and was close to giving up completely on this game. Every battle in this area has an ice storm which adds bullshit time to every battle, there are snowy pits which slow you way down when walking and I had to fuck around trying to get a new HM slave because I already taught 4 moves to my other one by this point, all so I could climb some rocks to talk to my idiot rival. Give me a fucking break.

Do Gen 5+ games improve or am I better off just replaying Crystal from here on out.

Man, tell me about it, i played Pokemon Platinum right after Pokemon Diamond, despite i didn't even like Diamond in the first place, but, a lot of people all over the internet kept sucking Platinum's dick by saying how much of masterpiece it was, and to me, it wasn't, i had to traverse Sinnoh with two HM slaves twice. After finishing Platinum. i didn't want to play a Pokemon game for nearly a year.

So in other words another non shit wild area like armor, the legendary hunt a la the post gen 6 post games and PWT: Galar edition? interesting

That animation is so good it might as well be one of the anime's OP's.
It's not really PWT unless they have EVERYONE.

Cancel the crappy Ashime already and give these fuckers a go at it.

Anyone else get Digimon anime vibes? Damn. For real they need to throw that boring Ash kid away and give us something like this. I'd watch the shit out of it.

This little snapshot from the trailer intrigues me. Those are Lysandre's glasses, and behind the trainer is a Gyarados. In the shot right before this there was another trainer with Ghetsis' eyepiece and a Hydreigon, aka his signature mon. Why is this significant? Well, usually Lysandre's main mon is considered to be Pyroar, so why the Gyarados in this shot?

Because his was a mega.

I'm undoubtedly splitting hairs and looking way too deep into a simple nod, and they probably would've revealed the return of megas by now considering the DLC drops in less than a month, but it's something that stuck out to me is all.

Lysander's main pokemon is Gyarados, as that is the one he mega evolves.

Looked into it and yeah, the Gyarados is the highest level for all his battles (in fact even for the last fight his Pyroar still doesn't have 4 moves wtf).

Genuinely wouldn't shock me if they shoehorn one last batch so they can boast about bringing all the mons back (after gouging an extra $60 out of you in total of course). Though considering they're bundling the current ones with the main game in Nov, probably not. So get hyped for Half-Assed Diamond and Bare Minimum Pearl instead!
