I think Mimikyu pretty much took the bedsheet ghost angle in Pokemon. But yeah a Normal/Ghost type should be like a cat-like shape under a sheet. And it'd have an ability that will make attacks either hit it or won't (to play on the whole Schodiengers Cat idea)

I'm guessing that it wouldn't be too different than what we already have, just give it two generator tails.
Wouldn't it just need one fused tail? Also it could potentially look pretty rad if done right.

Even with the spoiler, I can only see a Palkia. Am I stupid?
Funny, I still see Dialga first and foremost, and I can see Palkia only with the help of the colouring. I appreciate you validating that it can be seen naturally both ways, though - I've always thought it was so clearly Dialga first.

Also, re: the Tao Trio, it's actually got at least one more connotation. Quote wikipedia:
The Traditional Chinese characters 陰 and 陽 for the words yīn and yáng are both classified as radical-phonetic characters, combining the semantically significant "mound; hill" radical 阝 or 阜 with the phonetic indicators yin 侌 and yang 昜. The first phonetic yīn 侌 "cloudy" ideographically combines jīn 今 "now; present" and yún 云 "cloud", denoting the "今 presence of 云 clouds".[7] The second phonetic yáng 昜 "bright" features 日 the "sun" component. This phonetic is expanded with the "sun" radical into yáng 暘 "rising sun; sunshine". The "mound; hill" radical 阝full forms semantically specify yīn 陰 "shady/dark side of a hill" and yáng 陽 "sunny/light side of a hill".

Chinese wuji 無極 "limitless; infinite" is a compound of wu 無 "without; no; not have; there is not; nothing, nothingness" and ji 極 "ridgepole; roof ridge; highest/utmost point; extreme; earth's pole; reach the end; attain; exhaust". In analogy with the figurative meanings of English pole, Chinese ji 極 "ridgepole" can mean "geographical pole; direction" (e.g., siji 四極 "four corners of the earth; world's end"), "magnetic pole" (Beiji 北極 "North Pole" or yinji 陰極 "negative pole; cathode"), or "celestial pole" (baji 八極 "farthest points of the universe; remotest place").

Yin has connotations with Dark Clouds, Yang with sunshine, and Wuji (Kyurem) with infinite nothingness and the poles. It's easiest to assign Reshiram fire type from sunny connotations, and the cold is a better fit for Wuji among the more 'elemental' types. Yin's dark cloud connotations could assign it Water or Electric, and the easy way to resolve Kyurem and Reshiram's existing types is to give it electric.

What even makes a pokemon "normal"? What defines a Normal type pokemon?

While a ghost type with a single weakness sounds great, I have trouble understanding what in-world logic would make it possible for a pokemon to be "normal", but also a "ghost".

Kid of off-topic, but Pokemon Clover (a hackroom) has normal-ghost Pokemon called Sesquatch

latest

Seems to be some kind of big foot, well, the name already makes that obvious, the thing is, i kind of see why this would be a normal/ghost combo, first of all, it is big humaniod, can't get much more vanilla than that, that would explain the normal type, as for the ghost typing, i think it's the fact it's based on a cryptid, a creature many people claim to have seen for centuries, but never had any real evidence to confirm their existence, cryptids are more or less creatures of modern folklore, a middle ground between reality and myth, if anything, a pokemon based on a popular cryptid it's not a bad idea for an official Normal/Ghost Pokemon

Speaking of fakemons, the weird spaghetti flesh monster from gen V's Pokestar Studios mode is a very similar design to a sundew mon concept I've had for some time (sundews are a group of carnivorous plants that utilize sticky globs on their leaves to trap prey).

Never really thought of a type (Grass/something?) but a fun new ability could be a cross between Sticky Web and Intimidate where it drops the opponent's Speed when it switches in.

What is he even trying to point out? Sure, there are far better looking games on the Switch now and it's no excuse for Game Freak to make low quality rushed tree models, but why comparing them to PS5 which obviously has much better graphics?

And seriously? People are still over the fucking trees? I honestly even forgot about these already especially that:

1. This tree shit is like six months old and not even close to the main issues of the game, besides it can be patched later anyway; and
2. I honestly lost interest in any game news about Pokemon especially with the shitty direction of mediocre main series titles and cashgrab mobile games to later end their services after like a few years.

I think the tree thing is more an emblematic thing. The general trees (not the berry ones, so this is even more worthless of a comparison) have particularly bad textures, and it was super obvious in the promo material.

Fortunately, as we all know, Playstation promos never lie about graphics quality... right, Watch Dogs?

For me, it’s photoshopping OoT Link into the Wild Area.
Broke: photoshoping link in
Woke: Chroma-keying him in footage walking with high quality layering like a chad
I detest swsh as much as the next alt-right sexist epic gamer, but that comparison is straight up retarded. Just compare Gen 8 to something like Xenoblade 1 (on Wii) if you really want to go that way.
for me it's much less about graphical quality if you do that comparision, and more speaks about how galar really lacks an id, takahashi had a strong idea of what the hell the bionis and mechonis are and their shadows would effect the climate of every area. With SWSH I still have no clue what galars core idea is other then the league being similar to the world cup and a shallow approximation of britbong shit

That's a good point as well. I think that good NPC dialogue and interactions would go a long way in giving the region (and the story in general) flavor, conflict and identity. In a good JRPG, NPCs are often written with worldbuilding in mind so that every bit of information you get from them ends up getting you a bigger picture of the world around the character. Pokemon NPC dialogue in general often sounds really sterile whenever it's not trying to be a meme:

I once read in /vp/ that Shigesato Itoi would make for a great scriptwriter for Pokemon. The more I picture it, the more I agree.

It’s weird just how awful Game Freak and/or Treehouse is at writing NPC dialogue. Compare the main series game NPCs to those in Colosseum and XD, where they actually sound like humans.

Considering he actually gives a shit about the quality of whatever he makes, that's not hard to imagine. Mother 2 and 3 are incredible experiences on their own. If they brought him in to write and direct the next game, I would buy it, no questions asked.
