Got to floor 89 of Buried Relic in Mystery Dungeon. Died.
Managed to get a team all the way to rescue them, got to floor 90... and Kecleon for some reason doesn't try to charge me for items I picked up and says I'm stealing, and I get bummed to death by capitalist chameleons.

Oh, I think my team's generally up to par. First time I died was because I retarded'd my way into a monster house despite knowing it was there, and the second was bad luck (which I'd have just about survived had I gone south instead of east)
I'm tempted to hang around on the last floor and see if I can get Mew to turn up, but knowing my luck I'll do something very wrong.
Oh no he will passive aggressive towards the people that don't like it, I love Chugga but from what I heard from his galaxy 2 play through the guy is hyper defensive about the game, probably due to his unironic autism tbh. though he openly shat on ORAS so I have no idea what he sees in SWSH comparatively

He won't do ORAS, he's never done remakes (skipped FR/LF and HG/SS). SWSH is going to be really interesting whenever he gets to it in 5+ years though, considering from what blurbs he's mentioned of it in current LPs he seems to see it in a mostly positive light.
Ackshually, he did FireRed, it's one of his earlier playthroughs.
Chuggaaconroy tries to see things in a positive light. Typically, he does have an issue or two with every game which he points out during videos and as final thoughts when the end credits roll, but he really enjoys the games regardless. That's what I think helps separate him from other Let's Players, he's just such a positive guy and wants to entertain that he'll make light of glitches and his own frustrations. Even during his depression in Super Mario Sunshine where he openly struggled during the one bonus level, he still went out of his way to make the viewers laugh.
I remember when I first saw Sharpedo, I thought it was a regular shark because of the angle it appears in the sprite. I was kind of surprised to find out it's only "half of a shark" later.

I haven’t touched my copy of Sword in weeks but I have been playing the shit out of Mystery Dungeon DX. I’ve always been a huge fan of the Mystery Dungeon series and have always played the games as soon as they’re released. I think DX is a great remake and people should play it (although as I played it it occurred to me that most of what I remember from the Mystery Dungeon series is from Explorers of Time/Darkness, the much improved sequel to Red/Blue Rescue Team).
The Mystery Dungeon games have a long shelf life due to the always-changing dungeons and constant missions, so I really recommend them if you’re looking for a fun Pokémon game to play.

They've never played dungeon crawlers in their lives, I take it, or don't like it when Pokémon tries new things.
Or it's "too hard" for them 'cause you have to strategize your inventory and have luck on top of that to get through dungeons. Because it's not like Pokémon has ever been versatile to challenges, self-made or otherwise.
To be fair, the new artstyle of Mystery Dungeon DX isn't without it's ups and downs.
Most notably, the models are new... but their 'bones' are on the simplified side of things, due to being on Unity.
This video shows the differences well.
Even with that said, I think at least part of the backlash is residual angery Natdexxers et al. Especially seeing as this game also technically cuts back on the roster (albeit for different reasons) and so on.

I haven't seen anyone complain about PMD DX not having every single Pokémon, mainly because this is a remake of Rescue Team, which always had Pokémon only up to Gen 3. Some people were even pleasantly surprised to find out that Pokémon that are part of Gen 1-3 Pokémon's evo lines, that aren't part of Gen 1-3 themselves, were in the game as well, like Magmortar, Froslass, the other Eeveelutions, etc.
I don't think there was any anger from BBND people over this game at all, in terms of user reviews it's at the same score as the original Rescue Team. Critics always hated PMD though, every single game, even Explorers of Sky, has had average/negative reviews. This is just a case of journalists not being able to play games that present some sort of challenge or that are long. The models and the animations are probably the main point of contention people have with the game, because of how bad they are, especially for quadruped Pokémon.

Spin-off games like Mystery Dungeon aren't going to get flack for not having the entire dex in it because unlike the mainline games, you can't transfer your stuff between them. Having the entire dex show up in a spin-off is more of a bonus luxury for those who have a chance to play with a favorite but they won't complain as much if it's not in because it's an optional spin-off and they're not missing much.
However Gates to Infinity had gotten some criticism over this issue in that it had a very small roster and favored gen 5 mons, but its criticism didn't escalate like Sword/Shield's did because it's just a spin-off, and while it had some redeeming qualities such as story it had other issues such as mechanics for missions that were more notable for example.
My favorite Pokemon is the slick, slender sandstorm-serpent Flygon. Something about the design, the colors, the eye shields: I love it!
I also dig the Speed + Attack combo, plus being Ground it gets STAB for Earthquake (meanwhile most Dragon types are also Flying, so its not like Flygon is losing much by being double-weak to Ice).
However, I also have to give an honorable mention to the creepy cyclops-reaper, Dusknoir. At first I wasn't a fan of the design, but then went ahead and evolved my Dusclops in Diamond, then I slowly warmed up to the design. Add in the fact its a Ghost type with high Special Defense + Attack made it a natural counter to the Gengar/Alakazam/Gardevoir spam my friends were running sophomore year of high school, and this dark abomination climbed its way into my heart:
I played the mainline games up until Heart of Gold, which was a masterpiece and everything I wanted in a Pokemon game and I was in college by then so I quit at the peak; though I occasionally will download an emulator romhack to waste time.
