In Gold and Silver there may have been only a limited number of each non-Sun/Moon Evolutionary Stone, But in Crystal there are phone numbers you can get where the trainers hand you out the 4 elelmental stones occasionally. Gina the Picknicker, who is found south of Goldenrod City, hands out Leaf Stones. If you want Stones fast, go back to Newbark Town and make your mother constantly shift between Daylight Savings Time, you will almost always get a phonecall from someone in your contact list, just keep doing it until Gina wants to give you and item(which will always be Leaf Stone). You can also do the same trick for the 3 trainers that tell you when Dunsparce/Qwilfish/Yanma are swarming and any trainer you want to rebattle for whatever reason.

He said he was playing Crystal, not Sword/Shield.

I know. Got my Poliwhirl evolved through that way.

I have played all the games up to Sun and Moon, but stopped after that because it was a pathetic excuse for a game.

My favorite pokemon has always been flygon and skitty.

I am disappointed that Flygon didn't get a mega evolution, but the already overpowered Garchomp did. Skitty is just fucking cute.

The great irony is M-Garchomp was one of the only megas that was actively worse than its base form. Its drop in base Speed (which is one of the base form's greatest assets) + losing Rough Skin to the highly situational Sand Force was all it took to make it utterly pointless to use over other megas.

That may have been why they made his mega as bad as it is. It's already overpowered why make even stronger?

They also, in another rare moment of restraint, didn't allow it to learn Dragon Dance through the TR according to the Home movelist datamine. Garchomp's apparently just one of those mons they go out of their way to ensure never becomes broken ever again.

As @Vapewizard said, the only thing Mega Garchomp was an improvement on was the shiny.

I think I am the only person looking forward to the Mystery Dungeon remake. I really enjoyed those games and I would say they're my favorite spinoff next to the Gamecube RPGs we will never see again. The one thing that doesn't seem to be happening is an updated roster but details are sparse enough that it might happen? Who knows.

I was finally able to pull the right set of stings and was able to get a hold of an event shiny raikou from gen 4. Its special in that it was (along with any of the other dogs/cats) was used to get zoroark in black and white. Some good fucking memories. Now I finally have all 3 of them from that specific event.

I really wish they still did events like that.

I'm hoping it does well enough to have a remake of explorers of sky eventually.

We know there is a slight update in the roster thanks to people datamining the demo. The Gen IV Pre-evolutions and Evolutions of Gen I-III Pokemon, Riolu/Lucario, and Sylveon are now all playable. Among these are all of the Pokemon that were Gen IV cameos/teasers in the original version of the game(Munchlax, Bonsly, Mime Jr., Weavile, and Lucario). Also all 43 Mega Evolutions of the Pokemon available(plus Primal Groudon and Kyogre) are obtainable as temporary super-forms in the same manner to how they worked in Super Mystery Dungeon for the 3DS.

Apparently Dexit wasn't enough, because now Home is outright deleting mons that were already legal in SWSH. :story:

Before Gen 4, all ghost moves were physical, and all dark moves were special. Shouldn't it have been the other way around? Shadow Ball even lowered special defense despite being physical then.

An honourable mention about that has to go to Bite, which started as Normal in Gen 1, so it was physical. Became Dark in Gen 2, so it was special. Became Dark physical in Gen 4.
Gust is a parallel. Normal in gen I, became Flying in II, then became Special after the split as Flying was Physical previously.

In response to previous discussions:
I’ve found plenty of shinies throughout the recent gens, chain fishing is probably the saving grace of Gen 6. Only one I didn’t actively hunt was a Roggenrola in White.
Jynx’s cry is so much better in Stadium.
