I always have mixed feeling of chairman rose, I don't hate him, and he looks neat, but his excution of his plan was god awful.

Yes his plan was stupid, but I can get behind why he did it. I think he makes a great analog to the pokemon dev team.

As they both lacked the excution part of the plan, and did it with good intentions(Probably).

I probably said this before, but SwSh is like, the first draft of a potentially great game. Chairman Rose’s plan isn’t inherently stupid, it just doesn’t really work with the Galar that we see.

In order for his plan to make sense, the whole environmentalism theme needs to be turned up to 11. The mine shouldn’t be this nice clean cave filled with glittering jewels, it should be dark, burnt-out, and absolutely crawling with poison types. Instead of being a literal fucking hallway, Spikemuth should have been an industrial city full of massive smoking factories just pumping pollution into the air. There should have been at least one heavily polluted body of water where using the fishing rod will just give you Grimers instead of your typical water types. They could have also done more Galarian forms in line with Corsola, where it’s an existing Pokémon that’s been negatively affected by urbanization/industrialization - be it an old grass type turning into a grass/ghost with wilted yellow leaves, or a water type turned into a poison type with the suitable design changes. Hell, they could even reference the Pepper moth by adding a grey/black Galarian Butterfree that you can obtain by evolving it inside Spikemuth. Galarian Corsola is literally a fucking dead Corsola, so it’s not like these ideas are too edgy for a Pokémon game.

If it were shown that the industrialization of Galar was unsustainable and having a clearly visible negative effect on the environment and Pokémon, then Rose’s willingness to go THAT far for a clean energy source would make sense. As it is now, it’s like... oh yeah, everything’s going great, but the environment MIGHT be fucked a thousand years from now, so let’s summon a literal eldritch abomination that may very well destroy our entire country.

If we’re gonna delve into more fan fiction territory, I would’ve based that aspect of Rose on Elon Musk. He’s completely confident in his own abilities and literally doesn’t even consider that things going wrong with his plan is actually a possibility, which leads to reckless actions with severe consequences. This could involve making him a bit younger and more douchey, to the point that he can sort of serve as a direct counter to Leon’s “actually just a nice guy”. “Arrogant genius with good intentions who fucks shit up due to his own hubris” is a lot more interesting of a villain archetype than “guy who seems nice but actually has a nefarious plan”.

Froakie and Cyndaquil are the best starters
 
I have a feeling most of the starters aren't going to be in this patch. With all the legendaries being thrown in they need something as a headliner for the other 200-odd missing critters for an inevitable second patch (unless they hold that off for a 2021 game), and starters would fit that bill perfectly.

Consider: Galarian Starter Variants.
 
Oh wow, that was adorable, although I expected an accent come out of Rose's mouth...not sure why.

My starter was Scorbunny, which to me wasn't a bad pick at all. He (it is male) has managed to go through nearly every gym battle with little issue, and has been my main on my team for quite sometime. I think on my next playthrough though, I am going to try Sobble.

edit: I do plan to bring over my team onto my next playthrough, though. I am going to trade them to shield and then back again.

Well, they're making Galarian Versions of the Gen 1 Legendary Birds. That kinda broke the trend.

Honestly, if they do that, thank god they're not doing the gen 1 starters with that.

Actually - I would love to see variations like this:

I know that the Alolan starters and Kanto starters are off the table in that regard, but I'd kill for some different types of previous starters that had a similar Rock, Paper, Scissors elemental setting for them.

Would bet actually money if Tiger Mask wasn't a thing that line would probably be on all fours and be like some flaming sabertooth cat or something.

That being said I enjoy the whole Heel approach when it came to Inceniroar and how there was this big divide when the final evos were leaked since people thought it would be the 4th fire/fighting starter evo.
 
Remember the high point of the fandom? When the 1997 Demo resurfaced?

With all the recent disappointment lately wouldn't something cool like a 1993 or 94 Beta comes up? One with our boy Gorochu and tons of other cool things.

I'd love to get a better look at Squirtle's original Final evolution and Pre-Evolution Blastoise, which were different families.

The guy who leaked it got sued and ordered to wipe his hard drive, and collectors are greedy morons who think putting things online makes their piece of plastic worthless, so doubt this can happen, sadly(

But yes, I'd love for this to happen, too. Bet Blastoise wasn't even blue or a water-type.

I don't, but if anyone occurs nearby, I'll tell you ^^

I can sprite a bit myself, too, doing this all alone for the entire game is hard.
