Ah yes, I remember the gender bending Marill glitch
There's an interesting story behind that - it appears that they copy-pasted Cleffa's data when encoding Azurill, making it the only pokemon to have a different gender ratio than its evolution. It's also the only pokemon to have a harder catch rate than its evo, and it could also explain why it's Normal instead of Water.

You know what I was thinking about? I like the more emphasis they put on the League being a big thing in the game world. Having it be in a stadium with people coming to watch, making it a whole big event with opening ceremonies and everything, changing NPC dialogue for post game where everyone is like “there’s the Champion”, it’s fun. Makes it feel like more of an accomplishment.

If anything it makes past games look, off. Here you are, going head to head against the strongest, most notable trainer of an entire region, yet there's literally nobody else there. Considering how battling is a universal concept one would think there's be grandstands for the big matches like that everywhere. Though it was always like that in the anime so, guess that made up for it...?

I used to like the max raids, but solo max raids in the postgame are literally unplayable. The Pokémon only refresh every 24 hours, and new raid beacons won’t spawn until the previous wave is all cleared, meaning that you can end up with something ridiculous that would take luck to beat, even if the NPC didn’t bring total trash. Add on the rarity of certain Pokémon and Gigantamax forms makes this previously fun feature (ya know, when they didn’t take 5 tries and a good amount of luck) pretty much pointless without Online.

With some things like trading it’s understandable why that feature would be unavailable without Nintendo Online, but there’s no reason they had to gimp raid battles THAT much for offline players. Literally all they’d have to do to fix it is make NPC’s not use completely useless, nonsensical Pokémon, and make the raids continuously spawn and despawn.

This tbh.

The fact that I can get trainers with a Togepi, a Magikarp, and a Wobuffet all in the same Raid battle is really annoying. That being said some of the NPCs are actually very creative and come in surprisingly clutch. The Eevee with helping hand in particular is a godsend

I hate that Eevee girl. There have been multiple times where I could have ended a battle if her stupid Eevee had just used quick attack when the gigantamaxed pokemon less than 10% HP left with defense lowered by 4 stages, but instead, the AI decides to helping hand either the slow ass Dhelmise or Wobbuffet and I lose.

Even in video games, furries make questionable decisions.

I’ve just loaded up on a ton of wishing stars and just keep tossing them down holes.

There are better ways of doing that. You should try save scumming, I've saved countless Wishing Shards and triggered several pink beams with that exploit.

Oh I know. But I don’t mind the grind.
Right now I’m working on getting Shiny versions of my team for the fun of it.

I started a nuzlock on blue last week. I picked charmander to make it a challenge, so much of a challenge in fact it was a game over in Viridian Forest.

Pro tip: buy antidotes ffs

This is a problem I have right now too. Yesterday, I thought I'll just do a couple raids and see what I'll get. I found the Gigantimax Snorlax and I got rubbish NPCs, not even the Hawlucha could do much! Why am I stuck with weak NPC partners in post game? Why can't they have bigger and stronger Pokémon as a reward for completing the game?

Not a complaint to GF but some brain-dead moron with Eternius didn't Dynamax in the raid and we lost the raid. You little git. The next raid team I had was a guy with a shiny Machamp carrying the rest of us. >w> Thank you shiny Machamp guy but the catch was unsuccessful. :(

So it's brain dead AI vs. a grab bag of competent and brain dead players for postgame help.

IMHO I think the braindead AI is there to mimic the many braindead players you find doing raids.

Gamefreak might be lazy, behind on the times, and make questionable choices, but it doesn't take a genuis to know a lot of Players have no idea what they doing.

The only really rough 5 Star Max Raids to solo are against pokemon with reliable recovery or hard hitting AoE moves. Someone earlier suggested a 100 Eternatus with max HP and special attacks EVs and an assault vest and he handles about 70% of max raids. For anything that resists or is immune to dragon moves (steel and fairy) you should have Flamethrower and/or Sludge Bomb for. Alternatively, Zamazenta/Zacian 100 with max HP and attack EVs and their transformation item do pretty well against the things that wall Eternatus. Zacian probably does better, because it's probably the most retardedly overpowered pokemon in existence, the primal forms of the weather trio is the only thing that comes close.

Shout out to all the people spending a turn on dragon dance right before the gigantomax resets all their boosts to nothing like they do every couple turns.

Shout out to the people who actually go into max raids and spam AoE moves on purpose and kill everyone else in the raid.

I assumed it was possible but I've never actually seen it in the 20 or so Max raids I've done. Probably because it's impossible to get much satisfaction because there's no way to react to it other then move choice. Kind of surprised that I haven't seen it yet because several of the better moves in singles hit everyone (surf, earthquake) but I don't expect your average Pokemon player to know that.

Good, and let's hope it stays that way. If More people knew, then more people would abuse it for the lulz.

Clutch for me was that one kid with the Mudbray. We were up against this Gigantamax Butterfree and I was using Tyranitar to try and get x4 super effective damage. I had seen the Mudbray use other type moves so I dismissed him as useless for the battle. Eventually, the Butterfree was able to take down my Tyranitar with its G-Max move that I forgot it had, and only one more of our teammates could faint. It had pretty much no health and it was a smidge away from fainting. The Solrock on our team went for Cosmic Power and I forgot who the other Pokemon was but I remembered it missed its attack, so I was pissed because I thought I would have to do the battle all over again, but then Mudbray comes clutch and uses a Rock type move that lands, taking out the Butterfree. It was quite fun to have it come clutch when another hit from that Butterfree would've lost us the battle.

You know what would be a fun idea?

Letting people choose a pokemon that can participate in battles while they're 1) offline or 2) create and NPC that uses said pokemon. Maybe even allow the players to 'catch' the maxed pokemon on a certain percentage rate and allow them to decide if they wanna keep the pokemon or not.

Just an idea.
