gen 6 ev training wasnt horrible because of the multi-battles with five wild mons at a time. combined with pokerus and the appropriate boosting weight youd have a stat maxed in about 5 battles.

the chaining system in s/m was abysmal by comparison. good on them for just cutting the knot on this one

So does anyone have a list together for the 35-or-so Pokemon that are hidden in the game's files, for either event distribution purposes or for baiting people to transfer their Gen 7 Pokemon?

-The Bulbasaur & Squirtle families
-Mewtwo (because there's no way in Hell they were actually going to balance the meta)
-Mew (ResetERA confirmed this with their leak compilation)
-Jirachi (The poor bastard's third eye hasn't opened since Gen 3 ended)
-Colbalion, Terrakion, and Virizion (not Keldeo, for some strange reason)
-Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, & the DNA-Splicer fusions (Black-Kyurem & White-Kyurem)
-The Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio families (Gen 7 transfer to Pokemon Home)
-Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, & the N-Solarizer/N-Lunarizer fusions (Dusk Mane & Dark Wings)(Also Home)
-NOT ULTRA NECROZMA, despite that making sense as a Gigantamax form for Necrozma
-Marshadow (Magearna fans BTFO)
-Zeraora (the Digimon Pokemon)
-Meltan & Melmetal (likely another transfer option for those who play GO & bought the Let's Go games)

you can use vitamins to completely max out evs now, and they are only about 10k a pop now
Vitamins were 9.8k until Gen 7, and they've been 10k since SM came out in 2016.

XB2 is my favorite Switch game, but its nowhere near completed. The team wanted the Torna Combat, or some variation thereof, to be the combat for the main game but had to give up and do the simplified version we got due to time constraints. It also looks like a PS2 game in some respects, not N64 tree bad but it definitely had some issues.
You realise you are dead to @Marissa Moira now right?
But yeah the favoritism is massive, the animation for its signature move pyroball has more work put into it than the rest of the Pokémon moves combined.
But it's the worst starter. I mean the others aren't great (they all look the same for some reason) but at least they weren't apparently born with tape instead of a nose.

So uh yeah, I am profusely pissed. Cinderace is my new most hated Pokemon by far and GF basically went out of their way to make it fucking broken. Not only will it get Renamed Protean down the line but it also has a second exclusive move where it swaps entry hazards and screens on the field. So now I won't even be able to watch competitive videos without having to see this fugly bunny furbait shit plastered everywhere. As if it getting anime shill billing with Edgy Ash wasn't enough.

I swear if it gets shoehorned into Smash...
My biggest problem is.... since when do Pokemon straight up evolve clothes? The thing is literally a furry. What is this Digimon?

It's Evolutionary Foreskin, not clothes. 🤗

I;d say the Torna combat works better than the main game due to it not being all over the place. The main game needed to trim shit down on all the special circumstance abilities. Torna streamlined everything and it did play better for it. Also no gatcha bullshit.

I spend a good two hours beating up that cow triceratops boss getting enough cores so I could have all the blades. Torna kept everything to two blades a user and nobody had specific leveling conditions like needing the merc shit at level 5.

gardevoir grows a dress.

I have one question since I can't buy it right now: How annoying is the shiny hunting? Is it like LGPE where you have to chain catch pokemon and then wait around for a shiny one to appear or do they have mechanics like SM where the pokemon will call an ally endlessly or the dexnav or can I just run in a circle in the grass to trigger random encounters?

Considering Gen 5 was shafted to to release schedules, I wouldn't be suprised if the same thing happened to the Gen 8 mons, plus sakurai remembers the backlash to Corrin
Well I beat sword officially. Gut reaction on the overall game is that its better then sun and moon as a game, so at least the series isnt on a straight declining slope. We will really have to see what they choose to do with Sword 2 and Shield 2, ball is in their court.
Good to hear, kinda waiting on everything to play since the whole "new game smell" made me ignore a lot of Gen 7's problems only really realizing it I think a couple months after playing it, plus I'm still paranoid about the thing fucking my console emunand is too much of a shit show to get running as well. That's kinda the issue with annualization for me, It gets really hard to tear down a game when by the time you are rethinking it another one just got announced. though I am curious in what ways do you feel the series has course corrected with Gen 8 so far?

So IGN is really scrambling after being caught blatantly lying to readers about their 9.3 score. This is eye gougingly painful to read. There is no way, in any dimension, that Sword & Shield takes 40+ hours to complete the main story. There no way they didn't notice the huge list of graphical errors going on in the game. It seems they are doubling down on the models being new, then saying it doesn't matter anyway. This has to be the most pathetic article I've ever read, you'd think they'd at least shut up about they're fake reviews.

you know its sad when it takes a random youtuber to give an objective take on how most of this was more or less just bad PR
Vid above is really good btw, the doesn't really have any strong opinions either way on the issue and kinda opened my eye as to how complex the world of PR and branding can get

How can you EV train if EXP share is always on?

You can also just do specific training, since you can swap your pokemon out anywhere, you can focus on fighting pokemon who give EVs for a specific stat - Like focusing on just physical attack for an entire team until you max them out.

No one knows the specifics yet. Chance is the same as lgpe, 1/250. There is a combo method, where your chances max out at 25, no one knows what breaks a combo. They do know you can increase it by KOing the same mon over and over.
