It's starting to spread to people questioning other Nintendo franchises now.

All those Breath of The Wild 10/10's are now suspect because of IGN's Pokemon Review

I feel as if I have been vindicated.
I'm admittedly not a big nintendo guy, all I know is that GameFreak is a shit and Masuda has bugs in his ass. If you guys are annoyed, look into the guy who runs Serebii, Joe Merrick Who actually claims to be related to the elephant man lul, he's the biggest corporate cock slave I've ever seen. He's the Yin to Pomfret's Yang.

Can I still share twitter idiocy on this thread

I tried to find it but I can't find it anywhere, I don't think its up anymore if it ever was. I wish it was real. Please be sure to share all cringey posts wherever they are from ❣

IGN and others giving the game a high score does not affect me in any way to be honest, i don't pay attention to reviews in general. If i'm on the fence on a game i typically just wait a few days after release and watch a few gameplay videos then decide.

However some of the people on both sides of this shitshow are beyond belief, like guys it's just Pokemon...i've been playing since Red/Blue and i have never understood the cult like mentality of some of teh fanbase.

I just want to be able to run around with stick monkey and crow without picking a side.

Interesting but no one has trusted game journos for years, this is just another example of it
I think what a lot of people miss with the whole dex cut argument isn't necessarily the people who want to catch them all, it's more about people upset they aren't able to use their favorite Pokemon like they've always been able to. I think that's a major part of that, the nostalgia factor of those maybe one or two Pokemon you really loved being sent to the gutter.
I think Game Freak severely undervalued the nostalgia factor that helped them limp through the last few generations. No matter how bad stuff got, you could always get the Pokemon you enjoyed most. Hell, for me, I always made sure the Treecko line was part of any playthrough I made, be it the main storyline or the postgame, simply because I beat all of Ruby with just my starter. It made the elite four a real fucking slog, a complete accomplishment because I was a dumb kid who didn't actually plan my movesets. Having the entire pokedex in every game in the past was betting on nostalgia, and now that the rose tinted goggles are off, people can see that everything around them is shit.
Even if you are the luckiest guy in the world and can successfully assemble a team with all your favorites, you probably still have at least one friend who is bummed out that a lot of their favorites haven't made it, which hurts your own experience. The dex cut is really one of the most awful moves for the franchise, and that applies for everything from casual to hardcore players.
I think the big issue is that they kept lying about why more then anything,

If anything I just want to see how the series deals with the aftermath, this will be a shitshow within the community for a couple months. should be fun to see

TPC clearly knew about the nostalgia factor. It's why they pushed the "original 151" so much, down to Pokemon Go launching with solely them. Normies know about the original 151, maybe the new Pokemon from Gold/Silver, and a few of the highly marketed ones or furbait from the newer generations.

Sword and Shield doesn't even have all 3 of the original starters. Many fan favorites and iconic Pokemon were cut as well. Even some of the heavily marketed Pokemon from the past who made appearances in spin-off titles or crossover titles were gone. Then there's the fact that older Pokemon and moves were cut, especially when Game Freak made sure to avoid a repeat of the issue where Pokemon from Gens 1-2 were not transferable to 3+ for years.

Cyber Sleuth also didn't have every single Digimon and it makes sense when there's around 1,300 with many being reskins/variants. But they made sure to cover the bases when it came to the most popular Digimon. Sword and Shield couldn't be bothered to do that.

No, it's not. Nice try, buddy. You're not getting your Sony wet dream because Game Freak are incompetent buffoons and journos are useless, Nintendo did genuinely put out some good exclusives these past couple years.

It has nothing to do with Sony

It has everything to do with BOTW lacking content entirely and using seeds to cover it's fucking mess of a development cycle where they couldn't be bothered to make meaningful shit in the overworld.

People have been saying for years that Japan needed to have a third bomb dropped on it, Sword and Shield finally made that dream come true~

Original 3 starters are all in the code along with the gen 7 starters weirdly enough.

I think major and most obvious issue is that including all the Pokemon would not take a significant amount of effort on the part of Game Freak. All the models of Pokemon are directs rips from the 3DS titles. The engine the game runs on is a fork of Let's Go. They had all the tools to make make a good game already at their disposal, and they just cobbled some shit together and pretend it's the greatest game they've ever released. The game is wholly lacking in content, anesthetics, polish, and features. This would still be a glaring issue with all the Pokemon in the game. I just would have shielded the game from all this increased scrutiny.

I never understood the sentiment of "they ruined my childhood" until now. I feel old. It's less of a feeling that the games are getting bad, and more of a revelation that they may have always been soulless corporate nonsense.

Ha ha, old man.

But in all honesty, that's a bad mindset to have - Just because something is bad now, doesn't mean that there wasn't passion in the games before hand - There was. Gen 1 was broken, but you could tell that a lot of work went into the games considering the hardware limitations at the time.

Again, the reason why things seem to have gotten bad was when the game's mainline jumped to the 3d era.

I guarantee you, that if the games were still in 2-d, none of these problems would exist. Hell, we'd probably marvel at the pixel art right now - But, if wishes were fishes...

And don't forget to archive. Seriously, people need to archive shit around here.

I'm at least happy Cincinno made it in, though no Sawsbuck or Blastoise does made me really sad.

Blastoise is in the game.

What is with your video game sperging lately? You bring up BOTW all the time in this section, it's getting weird.

Either way SwSh is apparently easy as shit which I'm pretty sure is the main reason they're getting such good reviews. That and money.

One mediocre/bad Pokemon game isn't going to crash Nintendo, Jesus Christ. Especially if it sells pretty well despite the negative reaction.
