He had Ash-Greninja which was basically the same as mega evolution.
 
So, not sure how long ago this was last asked, but what was your favorite gen?

I started off with gen 1, but I feel the most fondness first either 3 or 5. What can I say? Snivy is awesome.

Gen 3 I guess. I liked Zangoose.

Gen 5 because it has the coolest 'mons, and the best story imo. I love Hydreigon and Haxorus.

I grown fond of the Scraggy line and that Zebra. Plus it had a bull with an afro. Awesome.

I'll admit I'm a huge Johtoddler but I have way too many fond memories of G/S/C and HG/SS are still one of the best Pokemon games period. Second would have to be Gen 5 since it had a lot kick ass Pokemon like Galvantula and Chandelure. It also only had just its region Pokemon until post game which I wish GF would do again.

Gen 4, its got a lot of really cool pokemon like Drapion, it had Pokemon Battle Revolution which had super fun wi-fi battling, and the routes and music are the best in the series. It was also before Thunderus and Landorus came in and destroyed the whole competitive meta, and speaking of meta, the whole WAAC (win at any cost) mindset modern Smogoners have taken on nowadays wasn't nearly as prevalent.
 
Gen 5 for sure, they actually had Pokemon that were worth grinding to evolve. Love Volcarona and Hydriegon.

IIRC they stated no Megas in Sword and Shield.

Gen 4 because:
  • The first generation when I kept up with the pre-release news and felt excited to get it for Christmas.
  • When I finally started to understand how Pokemon mechanics work.
  • The music from Diamond and HG makes me feel nostalgic.
  • HeartGold is my most favourite game and Johto is my favourite region. If Let's Go Marill/Togepi is for real, I'll be getting it.
Gen 5 is second best because of the story. GF acknowledges the "Pokemon is dogfighting" critique and addressed it. It made people think about the practice of capturing wild creatures to make them fight for you. The soundtrack in gen 5 is very relaxing and autumnal.
 

Here's the official Galarian Ponyta video. Still no sign of Galarian Rapidash. Also, it's apparently a pure Psychic-type, not a Fairy-type. Holding out hope that Galarian Rapidash ends up being Psychic/Fairy.

I will take Psychic, I was hoping for Fairy because I am tired of fucked up pink blobs being my choices for Fairy type (Sylveon excluded.) It is it still cute as hell and I will absolutely use one.
 
Is it weird to anyone else we only got to see one Galarian forms Evo path? (Zigzagoon) and none of the others, he'll not even Galarian Farfetch'd just it's Evo. Not calling a conspiracy just think it's weird.

How dare you! Clefable is the greatest fairy, that was also not a fairy, pokemon to hit this series since Wigglypuff! Seriously though, there's also fairy pokemon like kelfkey and Shiinotic. They aren't all blobs. Unless, you meant that those pink blobs were your best choice in fairy pokemon.
