I know but I'd like a little more than an empty husk, maybe react to the environment, anything. They pretended to give you choices in SMUSUM but those were few and far between.

A few days ago, Twip did a video where he basically reacted to the latest trailer. And said big problem he had was, and I kid you not, was that Sword and Shield was stealing from Sun and Moon.
His reasoning?
-) Regional forms are back
-) Marine is a part of Team Yell, and is like Gladion (even though team yell is her FANBASE and was in the english trailer he watched)
-) There will be a second team in the game like the Aether foundation (no actual evidence of that in the trailer, just him pulling that out of his ass)
-) The gym battles are taking elements from the island trials (even though essentially, Island trials are just gym challenges with different flavoring and Totem pokemon, since gyms in the past in pokemon had puzzles in them)
He has to find anything he can in order to support his narrative that Sword and Shield are bad on ALL levels.
Since he's milked the graphics tiddy dry (even though if you actually watched trailers, there has been a graphical update to the game in between them), he's decided to shit on the story and characters in the game. Even though we don't have anything.
Oh, and Twip's really thin skinned.
Earlier today, someone called him out on his BS with this post, a post that he took down, and the guy provided a link to a conversation where Twip confirms that he did indeed make the tweet (ya know, citing your sources, something that Twip seems to be allergic to)...
And Twip pretty much accused the guy of calling him a racist, even though he never did.

I just had a rather terrifying thought. With old non-native Pokemon straight up not even being coded into the game anymore from what we can tell, what does this mean for things like remakes? Will you not even be able to trade around mons within the same generation anymore too? Say for example we get Sinnoh remakes and Luxray isn't native to Galar, can it never be traded there?
They've already not updated same-gen games for new megas and entirely new mons in the past (the USUM-exclusive Ultra Beasts) so that would seem like the next sleazy step for them to take... Yes they were new shiny things to play with and it was incentive to buy the newer games, but they no doubt know they can just as easy get desperate fans to shell out to use old, previously missing mons too, and the best way to do that is to bar them off from previous year's title just like they did before with actual new content.

Your mistake is thinking they'd make a remake for anything other than kanto and hoenn. But if they're running out of space like they say then yeah, chances are that in the unlikely event they get remakes in several years that they'll go through and take out the pokemon they don't like anymore/think are useless to make room for whatever new remake gimmick they're trying to push. They're are going to be a lot of forgotten mons in the future.

Why wouldn't they remake Sinnoh? They've done them for Kanto (twice with the lazy Let's Go cash grab to get genwunner Go players on the Switch), Johto and Hoenn, so Sinnoh is "next in line" for nostalgia baiting. Especially with Diamond and Pearl being over a decade old, which is prime ripeness for such things as the kids who played those are grown up and able to buy their own stuff now.

That all really depends on what comes from Pokemon home and the remake when it comes.
Why wouldn't they remake it? They remade Red/Green, Gold/Silver, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and even Yellow. I see no reason why they wouldn't.

Every Game from now on will have it's own set of Pokemon that will be in the games and that won't be. Just because a Pokemon isn't in Sword and Shield doesn't mean it won't make an appearance in any future games, and just because a Pokemon is in Sword and Shield doesn't mean that it will appear in all future games.
However, given how Masuda said he would be choosing Pokemon he thinks are "appropriate for the region", it really wouldn't surprise me if certain Pokemon aren't going to return except in a potential remake.

Why do anything other than kanto?
Realistically I think we'll get sinnoh but not any time soon and it will be bogged down with even more Kanto than it already was. It's weird but I really don6t think they care about the other regions, sinnoh seems to just be ignored by fans in favor of BW and BW was an attempt to reset with a completely new Dex which apparently didn't do as well as they expected (more in BW2). Im sure they'd do those two but once the 3d era comes around the question is how strong is the nostalgia for that going to be?

You might want to look into the dual-slot feature that D/P/Pt had. The region was meant to have MORE Kanto, and a lot more Hoenn too, but they ultimately decided against it in favor of saving those Pokemon for the Jhoto remake and for people with the GBA games.
Also Mt. Coronet was the worst design choice for a region ever conceived.

No, that dishonor goes to cramming 8 HMs into one region. You should not have to either render half your team's collective moveset useless/redundant or drag around two entire HM slaves just to traverse the damn place. We can say all we want about how shitty the remakes will more than likely be, but the elimination of that stupidity will be an automatic plus no matter what.
...Unless they pull a stunt where HMs are back just for the remakes for the sake of "authenticity" like when they removed trainer customization in ORAS and used that exact excuse.

Look, I understand people are upset over the decision for SWSH, but a lot of the dexit guys are REALLY reaching now just to be negative about it.

I legit have to ask if this guy has EVER picked up a pokemon game before Sun and Moon, since pokemon is NOTORIOUS for repeating gameplay stuff and taking things from previous generations.

Fuck Mt Coronet and fuck fishing for Feebas inside it. I really wanted a Milotic back then but fishing for Feebas is fucking cancer.
Milotic isn’t even special or powerful to warrant it being this hard to obtain, it’s rare for the sake of being rare. So the only way to get it if you want it is through the power of autism focus, and my 10 year old ass ain’t spending all summer for this bullshit. I remember trying to fish through every tile, row by row, so as not to lose my place but I ended up doing so somehow and I had to put the game down at some point (to live my fucking life) and then inevitably it would be the day after - i.e., the tiles would have reshuffled and I’d have to do that all over again.
Who even sees value in ‘rare’ Pokemon? It’s game data where infinite amounts of a Pokemon can be spawned and bred, unlike other collectables that are truly limited in number. It’s artificial scarcity and boring to do. I don’t know if Gamefreak still have this level of convoluted crap in their later games but they’re asking for people to cheat and homebrew the fuck out of them if they do. It makes sense if the Pokemon is well bred or some kind of legendary (but GF hands those out like candy) but some seem arbitrarily hard to get for no real reason. Locking ordinary mons behind stuff like this doesn’t make them any more valuable.

Milotic actually had some VGC usage as a tanky special attacker in Gen IV and V but additions from then on made it kind of lackluster.
Only in terms of encounter rates and how they're encountered, some Pokemon only spawn in Horde or SOS Battles while others have a low (usually a 1% encounter rate) unless certain things have occurred. Salamence can be caught at a hilariously lowl level in SM/USUM if you encounter a Bagon at a certain spot on Route 3 with a 1% chance of finding one at said spot, cause it to trigger an SOS Battle, and keep killing more Bagons until ANOTHER 1% chance causes a Salamence to appear.
