Actually now that you mention it, did they just use dynamaxing as a way to nerd mega evolution? Also G-max moves aren't Z-moves because those moves can be used as long as they're dynamaxed.

Technically it's an improved version on both mechanics. Mega Evolution required you to have a specific pokemon, and had to limit it's capabilities with it's held item (Mega Rayquaza not withstanding), and you had to sacrifice the held item for the Z-Move.

If anything, Dynamaxing could be seen as a refinement of both mechanics. We don't know the full capabilities of G-Maxing, or the total of what pokemon will be able to transform into G-Max forms. If that leak is to be believed, Lapras, Pikachu and few others have form changes - For all we know, G-Maxing may actually allow the Mega Evolution pokemon to access their ME forms.

I mean, it'd certainly make sense, and save GF time and money rather than making new designs.

I love how one of their excuses (aka lies) for no national dex was for "game balance" yet according to the website the Gigantamax-powered moves (aka Not Z-moves) are just laughably broken. Undoubtedly Z-move level attacking moves that also set up Stealth Rock, use Defog, or even heal your entire party. Yeah okay. Balance my fucking ass.

That's part of what kept Megas from being completely broken. You get a boost to most stats, a different ability, and sometimes a different typing at the cost of not having recovery from Leftovers, an attack boost from Orbs or Choice Band/Specs, a defense boost from Assault Vest, large stat boosts or OHKO moves from Z-Crystals, etc. It forced you to make a decision and kept your Mega from being unstoppable.

Game Freak removing Megas because "muh game balance" and then giving us what are essentially Megas that can use Z-moves AND hold Choice Specs/Choice Band/Assault Vest/Orbs/Leftovers is so stupid I can't even call it re'tard logic. This is something else entirely.

Can I see the source for that please? Besides the Dynamaxing only last three turns and can only be used once per battle. It's certainly powerful, but it's not OP and even with these crazy good G-max moves, the right team with the right moves can scoff at that. Not to mention moves like those they'll most likely have them be locked behind moves that only a handful of pokemon can learn.

"Water-type moves used by Gigantamax Drednaw will change to G-Max Stonesurge. G-Max Stonesurge doesn’t just deal damage to an opponent—it will scatter sharp rocks around the opponent and cause Pokémon entering the battlefield to take damage!"

"Flying-type moves used by Gigantamax Corviknight will change to G-Max Wind Rage. G-Max Wind Rage deals damage to an opponent, but that’s not all—it will also remove any effects of moves like Reflect, Light Screen, Spikes, and Electric Terrain that the opponents may have!"

"Fairy-type moves used by Gigantamax Alcremie will change to G-Max Finale. G-Max Finale will heal all Pokémon on Alcremie’s side while dealing damage to an opponent!"

It doesn't specify if healing means status, HP or both but still.

It must mean status. Letting a pokemon have the ability to heal your party that aren't out on the field is pretty OP, unless they make to where only like a 1/4 of health was recovered or something.

Edit: Sorry, I'm stupid. Yeah it recovers HP but they don't specify how much and it does state it's pokemon on the field only.

Fellas the new desert Pokemon turns into a big ass cake when it Gigantomaxes. I no longer have negative feelings towards this mechanic. Thank you GF for letting me kill the inferior with a cake.

Favorite is Lugia

Lemme ask you something, do you think they will listen for the 3rd game or previous gen remakes? I'm more concerned about the shitty graphics and lack of mega

Gigantomaxing was another thing that was in that leak, meaning we probably have cross-gen evos and regional forms to be revealed.
Oh yeah, they put so much thought in stealing Mega Evolution from Digimon.
There was no thought in mega evolutions. Mega Charizard X was just a black Charizard with blue fire...how will we ever survive without that.
Are you implying that because "haha they looked STOOPID" and "it's been done before" that Megas were just thoughtless and pointless additions? Fucking seriously?

I mean, about half the Pokemon in the dex look stupid to begin with and Pokemon gameplay is just Rock Paper Scissors, so nothing matters.

*shrugs* I was just trying to be snarky for the sake of snark.

Well FUCK you, nigger. Trying to have fucking fun on the internet? What are you, a fucking faggot?!

Sorry for 'tisming out on you, in that case, bruv.

Nah... I'm just a natural born dumb ass lol.

Is it just me... Or does the Japanese Trailer look a hell of a lot better than the English one?

Also, just noticed the comments disabled and the like/dislike ratio is hidden.

Ooh... THat's never good.

It looks like ratings and comments are disabled across all of Pokemon Japan’s videos. I’m not sure if it’s always been that way or if it’s a response to backlash over SwSh.

I'm assuming that's always been the case because if you go to the Japanese nintendo youtube channel, they also have comments disabled. My guess would have to be because they want the channel to purely be for news and annoucements.

From what I've seen, it looks like that they're getting an little bit repetitive with the gyms. Locations aside, they all giant stadiums as opposed to being a minor brainteaser.

What?

Dood, we've seen from the demo that the water Gym itself has it's own puzzles - The Water Gym is a maze, but it's from the demo.
