I found an interesting article, couldn't archive it since the archiver was throwing up errors.
Apparently, Game Freak has been silent in Japan about what's going with the new games and its causing a lot of strife between them and the Japanese fan base. It's important to remember that Japan is their primary market so if the Japanese are growing furious, things are not looking peachy for Game Freak.

If anything I hope the Japanese fans end up being the final push for GF to fix this mess. If not, then I hope Japan's sales also tank it enough to get them to wake up and stop doing the bare minimum and removing shit.

That looks like so much bullshit, the bull that left the shit turned its head away from the smell.

If Home will be like Bank and your Pokemon get deleted if you don't keep paying, it's in Game Freak's best interest to be as transparent as possible so players know if they want to buy the service.
Of course this means they won't be, because the short term gain of forcing unwitting players to keep paying subscription fees or watch their favorite Pokemon get deleted is more appealing than the long term consequences of their fanbase never trusting them again.

Hmmm...not liking any of the new Pokemon they revealed today.

I'm interested to see what the roly poly one evolves into though.

The whip cream and strawberry over looks like a big middle finger to everyone that complains about the Vanillish line.

The dragon/steel type might be interesting with it's ability Light Metal/Heavy Metal. I wonder if it's going to have a form change or move to change abilities.

Well, it's not like we haven't had desert based pokemon before. Slurpuff, remember?

Although, here's an interesting question...

Gigantamaxing - It completely changed the model of the pokemon - I wonder if they're doing the same for older pokemon. And if so... Could that be what Gamefreak was referring to?

Gigantamaxing was part of the leak that revealed many character and Pokemon names and descriptions plus Dynamaxing weeks before the direct(it also revealed Yamper before the demo was available). Right now the only things left in the leak that need to be confirmed are a few plot details listed, Farfetch'd getting an Evolution called Sirfetch'd, Meowth having a regional form(again), and Lapras, Pikachu, and Galarian Meowth having Gigatamax forms

I'm happy with what they have revealed so far. I can deal with not having a national dex, some people act like not being able to bring over their perfect Weedle is a personal attack. Some total sperging on twitter.

I'm rather mixed in it, I feel like the it's been an every approaching problem, but I'm not sure "Fuck you, you play with the yours we give you" is the solution. I get it's a painful bandaid to rip off, but I think a lot of that could be eased with some gentle steps. Say Sword and Shield will not have a national Dex, until Poop Pearl/ Diaper Diamond or something more interesting than a remake comes out for this Gen. The secondary game in the Gen completes the national Dex for both, it spreads the cost across both games, eases nerd rage, and sets up Gen 9 not ever having a full National Dex as most people have played through a new game with out one.

As far as I am concerned there are only 151 pokemans. Everything else is heresy.

It's more about people being upset that some of their favorites might be left behind and forgotten. I know I got a few Pokemon all the way from Fire Red that I really like and leveled to one-hundred that have gotten all the way to freaking Alola and there is a very real chance I won't be able to send them to Sword and Shield or any gen beyond that. I've had some of those Pokemon for over a decade, and yeah, they might just be pieces of data, but like an old toy, piece of furniture, or painting, I've grown attached to those bunched of 1's and 0's and are sad to see them left in the dust.
Dude I have a Mew from GBA Ruby that I got from a Toyrus event that I've brought over to the 3DS games. The Owner even says TOYSRUS.

ToysRus isn't even around anymore.

I could actually see Game Freak making a habit of having every region with their own Regional Form Meowth.

I'm totally ok with this, as I think regional forms has been their best idea yet for revisiting old Pokemons and creating cuttable content. I was worried it was going to go away as this Gen seems to be throwing out good ideas (though it seeming more like the Gyms this Gen are going to be half way between traditional and something new)

So I’m guessing I can’t get my perfect shiny level 100 Ursaring that can perform Earthquake, Swords Dance, Hidden Power, and Thrash into Sword and Shield.

Nah, but he's going to kick ass in Pokemon Vodka and Pokemon Tracksuit

So they got rid of Mega Evolutions just to put them back in only now with a three move timer, and they got rid of Z-Moves just to bring them back in under the name G-Max Moves.

Game Freak’s gotten so lazy they can’t even make new gimmicks.

They actually had to put in thought with mega evolutions, which is why we will never see them again.

Actually now that you mention it, did they just use dynamaxing as a way to nerf mega evolution? Also G-max moves aren't Z-moves because those moves can be used as long as they're dynamaxed.

Edit: Stupid auto-correct
