Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

Man I’m kinda sick of all these mid-30s and older millenials popping up with podcasts now to talk about how they only like the first generation. It’s always just a front for selling something or crypto.
 
I decided finally write all my pokemon romhack ideas for my game that will never exist because I dont know how to program.

Sometimes out of nowhere I have an idea and eventually forget it, no more, I will keep adding to my google keep notes.

I guess spitballing ideas must be just like what gamefreak does every new game according to the leaks since most of the cool ones are dropped and we only get the shit ideas.

I just really wish I could had an tool that would make easier to think of events in the story in the game that would make sense to be gamelike. This entire idea could work as a fanfic or a book but the game part (not even the gameplay but the maps and npc) are what I am interested the most.

I definitely encourage writing and designing games even when you know that they're never going to go anywhere. It's like how it's still good to exercise and have fun shooting a basketball in your driveway even though you know that you're not going to make the NBA at the end of it. Plus, it can be really good practice for other projects that do end up going somewhere.
Just be careful of how big of a time sink designing a fake game can be. Even if you're planning around what you think would actually be reasonable for a dev team to make, the fact that you never have to judge a finished product and that you lack many other real constraints can let you get really carried away. I've lost a lot of time to Battlefront 3, Fallout 5, and Ace Combat 8 (I guess it'd be "9," now).

The most infuriating part is that you think how it was supposed to be implemented in the actual game and your ideas kinda just goes there. And yeah the framework is that it is still a Gen 3 game so I am not talking about 3D graphics and stuff that doesn't exist. Just remixing existing tilesets and editing stuff here and there.

The cool stuff about it is that I don't have to care about balancing and other game stuff an can just imagine stuff like new regional forms from a very specific area in the map.

Also Battlefield 3? The Star Wars one?

Emerald. The core idea is what would happen if Kyogre won against Groudon pand flooded the world making it raise the sea levels. Then a timeskip of 4 years and what would happen to Hoenn after this.

The cool stuff is how to write world building and scenarios after this, last night I got an idea like this: since Slateport city is the closest to water it would be the most affected and on of the characters that would take the hardest would be Captain Stern, so he would take on a Moby Dick's captain Ahab role into trying to hunt and kill Kyogre and you would find him in various places across the Sea trying to find Kyogre.

So you imagine stuff like who would benefits the most and who would took the hardest and change their story or map to fill it. Another example is that Lavaridge town would great benefits from the events and would grow into a great city who would be the new energy (geothermal) supplier after the destruction of Mauville city and would build around the volcano.

Sootopolis city would also be affected since it would get lots of immigrants from destroyed cities and would be divided into two different classes of citizens: the inner sootopolis who are richer and the outer sootopolis who are poorer and built their city around the outer wall.

Or how the Battle Frontier would be renovated into another city to refugees instead of being just a battle ground with Scott as the mayor and with this I would use frontier brains as the new gym leaders/elite 4.

That is the core idea: a cataclysm event that would reshape Hoenn and we basically would travel to a Hoenn in a different context.

And why would Kyogre win against Groudon in the first place? It would tie to the blue and red orbs, a normal groudon would fight against Primal Kyogre and lose. The reason why Groudon didn't had a orb is that it was being used in the subterranean area to make life possible as the sun so I could use the beta/cut pokemon as species that werent discovered and regional differences between altered designs and create an underground post game with.

And one of these cut Pokemon would tie into the main story with the remains of the Magma/Aqua gang trying to force all pokemon to evolve into this new Hoenn Environment.

I would think tha the type advantage and how they were surrounded by water would b enough of an explanation, but you certainly gave an interesting take.
I also find interesting that KingCradi s doing a similar sequel hack, but assuming that Groudon won, instead.

My idea is that the reason to why Kyogre won is that it had an advantage and not in a type combination but with an unfair advantage, since it would be basically Groudon vs Primal Kyogre, one having the orb and the other would have to make sense in a way that it would tie to the original Red Orb being missing (being underground).

The idea is that the orbs that we know in normal Emerald are just fragments and somehow team Aqua got a way to make a duplicate with some help of the Devon corporation (that was financially involved with Castform and the Weather Insititute development)

The idea is that they developed a second artificial orb that would make Kyogre berserk with power and would start this whole stuff but it wasn't intentional. Then Archie would be in a prison underwater serving his sentence as his Aqua Team would act under new leadership trying to make all Hoenn Pokemon evolve into their new habitats (imagine an Aron that could swim), using information from the cut pokemon Evolotto and Castform shifiting his type, making all pokemon basically evolve into his own ambience since basically Kyogre flooding the world basically shifted the nature and pokemon habitat.

One of these ideas is to make a village for people that hate Pokemon because of the trauma caused by Kyogre fucking up their lives, so they would seclude themselves away.

The funny thing is that this entire idea surged because of what I hate the most about my favorite gen: when the conflict between Kyogre, Groudon started and Rayquaza appears it just gets resolved like in one instant. I hate that sudden conclusion.

One of the ideas to mitigate this is to send Rayquaza away and so far my idea is just to use the plot of pokémon movie 7 where Rayquaza fights Deoxys in the artic polar and loses and starts Hibernating there until he fully recovers, so that is why he would be absent from this fight.

Hoenn is my favorite region and there were some games that added stuff to the map that made me think: oh man there are so many ideas that could go from this expanded areas like this:

This is an area in the other side of Hoenn desert that mimics what happens in real life: when mountains are too high one side gets less water due to the mountain get to block all the rain and one side gets a desert and the other a forest. In this case, the Hoenn Monkeys habits this part.

Other cool stuff is to imagine what would the original character gym leaders/plot characters do after this four years.

I have some ideas for some but nothing for others.

I have this weird concept for Wallace, Juan and Glacia that they would form a new group that has the plan to freeze all the water and make the water recede by creating an gigantic iceberg near Hoenn. They could even be villains attempting to steal ice pokemon to booster their ranks.

My idea for Steven is that he would stop being a trainer and after his father death, he would take Devoncorp and go work into technology/infrastructure to help the people of Hoenn, shifting their business practices. I even got this idea to introduce a new corporation to make shittier pokeballs since Devon left the market and they have shittier pokeballs more expensive than before because the trainer doesn't have options.

Steven would connect to Roxxane as she would leave the school and focus on acquiring giant Rocks for Devoncorp by excavating the north of Rustboro (who would be a dicked wall city that would have even more buildings around it (maybe even invading the forest for the builders to leave and work in the rock extraction operations)

Brawly is a fun one: you have this surfer dude who lost everything since the entirety of dewford is underwater, which route to take with him: make him a happy go lucky guy or he would use this as motivation to make him train harder to never let something like this happen again to him?

Wattson I would like to have him killed during the flooding by helping others, so his gym would go to another city. Maybe Mt. Pyre (humans aiming for higher places since Kyogre is still free and making pokemon go away)

Well,I had wrote here even more ideas that I accidentally deleted. But writing all this is really fun exercise.

And if you want to make a romhack using all of my ideas, go ahead, when I finish all my writings I can share with you all. If someone likes them enough to make it happen, that is pretty cool.

I would say that he would turn into a primarily Water-type trainer, since he is a surfer dude and the whole thing is underground. This would also tie to the whole 'Kyogre flooding the world and making water dominan' thing. Probably give him some Water-Fighting Pokémon, showing his transition (ew not in that way) to a new type.

With your high standards and my ROM hacking know how, I hope tha this hack becomes fabulous.
(I still have that Scarlet and Violet demake in mind... just delayed because of a lot of other things.)

There are enough water trainers as it is and it isn't just because the world has more part in underwater that it would make sense.

The problem here is that all decisions must come from above (event) and affect his existing character. If there is rising sea levels, the surfing place that he knew (Dewford) would change regardless. What I am in doubt here is what route to take this event (his entire town got flooded and I know that after these incidents you basically loose everything that you own), how does it affect your entire being? As a martial type trainer, it would make sense for him to focus and harden his personality since one of his entire hobbies got destroyed alongside his home. There is a trauma there that I would like to tackle since he is the gym trainer that got affected the most in the hardest way.

I wrote basically my plans for Mt. Pyre and how I would put Phoebe as a Ghost Gym leader basically being the divide between her position as a gym leader and seeing pokemon being displaced by their resting place by humans. Imagine if a cemetery got removed to create a shopping center but this time people are actually afraid of more Groudon attacks.

And there is also the idea of xenophobia towards people of Hoenn and immigration in masse to Hoenn at the same time. Imagine if something like that occured in our planet and they know someone is at fault and the entire sea level rose 10 meters because it would affect them elsewhere. People from this country would be hated.

People from Johto and other regions would despise people from Hoenn and since other regions got fucked too, they would had people send people to Hoenn not only to work on jobs like mining and rebuilding the region, creating a gap of wealth and class that would affect their previous lives.

And at the same time some Hoenn Pokemon species would become quite rare since their areas got destroyed. So there would be pokemon hunters acting up to caught and sell rare Hoenn Pokemon in other regions.

My most troubled idea is how to write tram Magma and Aqua, in one way I want Aqua to go with their plan to save pokemon by forcing them to evolve to aquatic species and to be more fit to their new habitat. (This one drived by the fact that Kyogre is still free in the sea and can make the sea rise again)

But I still don't know what to make of team Magma, but I want to make them a good team this time, not sure how but to make them help people and Pokemon on land. Both Maxie and Archie saw what happened and understood that they were wrong, but how did their admins took it in in their absence is a possibility to tackle.

So far everything is very possible but my dream part would be the final elite 4 (not really), I played a hack that did the 16 bracket and you would fight a tournament against new opponents every time you entered. That was so fucking cool that I would like to do the same but with gym trainers and new characters (story ones), so you would fight and get a new opponent every time (the difference here is that now the gym leaders wouldn't use only one type of Pokemon but others).

And since the tournament is like this and not elite 4 format, I would change the Evergrande city to be like any big event that people who live near use it to sell their services (example would be overpriced potions and full restores), team photos, clothes, character merchandise, any way to make money out of the event. I want to make the final challenge something special.

I know nothing about making romhacks but so far there seems to be nothing impossible, mechanically I would keep it fairly normal sp no Z moves, megas and so on. But if I could I would add all the Unbound Gym gimmicks since those are fucking amazing.


You mentioned KingCradi's Ruby 2, but the idea of more land for me doesn't make much sense as something as impactful as removing land. This may seem like I am favoring one of the teams but that isn't it, one idea of making more water is just more relatable and let the ideas flow better.

Ah, but within the realm of dream games that this hack would be, I would like to make a improved CONTESTS that would be basically the biggest boom ever since the Hoenn events since the Pokemon League was in Hiatus until the start of the game. How to improve it? Use the gen 7 contests and actually make it worth to play and give good rewards and a full story line.

This has me feel embarrassed, but in a 'you ar exception-wrangling me' kind of way.
I actually noticed tha there would be more water-trainers, hence I had the idea of a 'Water Elite 4' back at my previous post.
From your previous posts, I do no think that he would be that happy-go-lucky. At most, he would make jokes about having plenty of surfing water and taking up a Water-type speciality, but in reality he is just clinging to the life he once knew. Whatever focus and hardening would be internal, since his insistence of keeping his old life would mean that he needs to show the least amount of change possible.

I actually believe that is exceptional, especially since Kyogre is not exactly missable.

That should be relatively easy, since Team Agma's goals of expanding the land in a world that is mostly water, especially with problems with overpopulation and resource scarcity, would b easy to make heroic, even in the aftermath of both of them realising how messing with nature is bad.

Death to Gen 2 glazers and their lvl 30 level cap trainers. Gen 3 and 4 zoomers and zillenials stay winning.

I never considered this even more when I believe that elite 4 should NEVER be based on a single type pokemon. I prefer literally any concept other than type. The gyms already does this part in the game, the Elite 4 should be varied.

The problem is that it would go back to the orb problem. If Kyogre has one or two orbs, he would win against Groudon.

If the story goes to the point where Team Magma gets one red orb and use it to wake Groudon again to make more land, I feel like the entire point of the story wouldn't make sense, it is the same decision that the world got flooded, this idea that humans should decide if there is more or less land or eater is what caused this. The thematic balance would be weird.

UNLESS

What if team Magma is using the Groudon and Red Orb as bait to lure Kyogre and a coalition of different trainers actually try to defeat Primal Kyogre? That could be a quite cool idea, even more if it has a gameplay significance like using different trainers to fight against Kyogre with different teams like Primal Kyogre has a 5 health bar.

Ah, one thing that I forgot to say is that I really want is to inverse the order of the gyms. The trainer would start in Lilycove city and the final gym would be Norman. (This would mean that then protagonist didn't understand why Norman decided to stay in Hoenn and not go back with his family to Johto when this event started, since we would see and participate into helping the people from Hoenn during the journey and we finally got to see the sense of responsibility that Norman held for his position as gym leaders.

This idea would tie to what I wanted to change about gyms:

Instead of Gyms being just a place to battle and leave, every gym would give the player a mission that helps someone from this city, imagine getting rocks from a mountain to help rebuilding, cutting trees, helping people and Pokemon, then after completing this, you would get access to challenge the gym leader.

Basically the Pokemon League would use the trainers and their pokemon as helpers to help rebuild Hoenn little by little and we would interact more with Gym leaders and understood why they even took this position, giving them characterization to them.

Why do this? Because in a normal pokemon game then '"world" is an idealized paradise that there is nothing to complain about, it is too peaceful and I get that it is a matter of being fucking pokemon games, but there is space for fans to develop more.

Remember when I was reading the Pokemon novel and posting snipets here? That is the kinda of core idea that I would want in the game, something that has a bit of reality even in a fully imaginary world like Pokemon.
