I mean it IS part poison... makes sense.

Could have been worse.... it could have been Muk doing it, so ontop of all that, you'd have to deal with the smell too.
It's not Gengar making the wave of blood in the animation. It's implied to be the ghost world they've stepped into itself trying to keep the kids from escaping while all the Pokemon are presented as harmless pranksters who just want to play practical jokes.

Throwback to the pokemon manga where the defeated pokemon fucking DIE.

Oh an apparently, Ghetsis beats the shit out of N in the Black/White manga. (read right to left)

ETA: I'm trying to play pokemon clover but I'm getting a checksum error. I downloaded Pokemon fire red squirrels from the internet archive but it's not the correct one?
Reddit is failing me, as is google.

LOL from todays Ascended heroes poster launch in Aus, like if I looked like this id not go out in public and even if I did id not do it looking exactly like a fat greasy pokecard scalper who cuts in line on disabled children.

I saw a fat 6'4" man child like actual developmennt retarded type with his mum in the food court opening packets today as well, its good at least some people who should be opening stuff actually gets them.

Yeah, most of the people I’ve seen showing up to these kinds of releases have been these kinds of losers. I’ve never been a fan of sealed collecting because it always ultimately results in hoarding tons of sealed products that wind up just being resold at a markup.

Then again, this could join TemTem and maybe Digimon Story: Time Stranger in the category of hyped games on YouTube tha turned out mid.
To be fair, a Digimon Game turning out mid is a legitimate reason to get hyped.

Is it weird I like the unassuming pokemon designs with horrifying lore?
Like Drifloon.
My favourite part about drifloon lore is that one of the pokedex entries hits us with the one-two punch starting with the horrifying 'it tries to carry children away into the afterlife' and then giving us the mother of all chasers in 'it dislikes heavy children'.

What the actual fuck, This is now my second gold card of the Mega era.
I've STILL not pulled a Mega attack rare though despite supposedly being almost as close a pull rate as EX mons..

I unknowingly stumbled upon inflation fetish art of the upcoming starters. Already? 🤮
I accidentally let the rebuilt theme continue playing while reading the thread and you're right about it luring you into a hypnotic state, that sound track is wonderful.

It's really a shame this game is locked behind such a high price point though. I can't justify a Switch 2 just to inject nostalgia heroin directly into my veins. I hope I remember to play it in a decade after they crack Switch 2 emulation.

I really want to play it. But the price of the console isn't worth it for just one game.

People keep saying this about Pokopia by itself, but once Winds & Waves comes out (and whatever other games between now and then) and people feel like they have more of a reason to buy a Switch 2, I wonder how many of them will actually circle back around and play Pokopia on it.

What the actual fuck
That's what I'm saying about that shirt.

Looking at Pokopia, there is FOR SURE going to be at least one DLC area announced, and I'm dead-certain it's gonna be Ice-themed.

My evidence (if you haven't read my previous spoilered posts, there's spoilers here too):
- There are only five Ice Types in the 300-pokemon roster. The next least-common type is dark at 10 representatives, and every other type is 20+.
- However, Dark has a few Pokemon that are fairly standard roster members added seemingly casually, like Cacturne, Murkrow, and Absol. The five ice types are Articuno (who comes with Zapdos and Moltres), Glaceon (who comes as part of the eeveelution set), Lapras (because it had to be Lapras used as the basis for Surf) and Amaura and Aurorus (who appear as part of a set alongside the other dinosaur fossil mons, all of which require a more unusual method to acquire). Every single one is part of an at least somewhat unusual set, that would feel obviously incomplete if they weren't included.
- Only one Ice Type has two Specialties, and again it's part of a set - all fossils have Crush and then add Litter (specifically stone litter) in their evolved forms, and there is no ice-type elemental specialty like Grow, Burn, Water or Generate. Glaceon somehow got stuck with trade.
- There's a relative dearth of blocks based on ice types - there's a winter pattern of carpet, and a literal ice block, but that's it, and the latter is sometimes paired with generic crystals.
- There is a town with 'alpine'-themed items, but it's the fire-oriented mining and smelting town, almost egregiously pulling away from ice associations.
- There's also the matter of grass colour. Each region's soil produces a different type of tall grass - Green for Withered Wasteland's field area, Yellow for Bleak Beach's seashore, Red for Rocky Ridge's alpine, and Pink for Sparkling Skyland's Skylands. The primary gameplay reason for this, aside from helping each area look distinct, is that each type of grass acts as an easy-to-summon base habitat for the region to build off of - containing a few unique necessary pokemon to help things run smoothly. For example, Pink grass has Vulpix and Ninetales in it, providing a baseline couple of smelters and brickmakers as Burn is actually pretty rare for the skylands. The point of all this rambling is that a theoretical icy area could very easily have some sort of teal or blue grass while stying clear of all the other grass types' colours.
- And the obvious candidates for Ice-themed towns are largely still open. Lavender, Cerulean, Cinnabar with the Seafoam Islands, even Indigo Plateau and Mt. Silver are all untouched.

This isn't to say Ice is the only candidate - there could very easily be Autumnal or Desert-themed towns on similar bases of there being valid tall grass colours and so on - but Ice is so obviously lacking that it's the most likely leader and starting point.

Honestly GF had huge balls to release FRLG given that it would straight up outclass let's go
I think that they figure that FRLG and LGPE have different-enough audiences that it doesn't really matter.

LGPE is for people who want modern graphics; nice presentation; a cutesy, kid-friendly vibe; modern quality-of-life improvements; and different, more laid-back gameplay.
FRLG is for people who want their beloved uncslop exactly as they remember it from 20 years ago—same tiny resolution, no physical/special split, same glitches, same clunky menus and controls and every other concession that was made for ancient hardware.

There's some overlap between the two audiences, sure, but I don't think that there's actually that much overlap.
And the people who are into Pokémon enough to play both of these will probably like both.
And if they didn't, then what does Game Freak care? They already got your money.
I already got your money, dude.png

Because the topic's drifted that way, one more thing. Most of the Pokopia pre-fabs, particularly the block-based in-world ones are actually fairly recognisable, and you can understand what game acted as inspiration for the designs just by looking at them.

So if you're wondering, it's a Let's Go games continuity where everything went to shit. And nothing of value was lost.

The one on the right looks like he would play TCGS. I try my best never to look like that but I fear I do when I've got my bag on cause I've got my gaming stuff with me.

The original lore was a joke and the internet ruined it. Drifloon would try to kidnap children but it was so light it was impossible. They would drag it around and it couldn't do anything to them.
