Sun and moon is the only generations i have not yet played. Its mechanics put me off and it being 3D as well. Thread what is your opinion on the game.
I liked it.

But my only experience so far has been with Ultra Sun, so I don't know much about how the original Sun & Moon differ.
  • The vibes are great.
  • The music is great.
  • The environmental design is decent, but doesn't lean nearly as hard into the tropical island theme as it could've.
  • The world feels small. At first, the islands are just small in general, but even when you get to bigger islands and think that you'll finally get to explore a bunch... you'll get skipped around the map when you transition between routes. Whole areas on the overworld map that look like a big environment to explore are barely used, or not used at all.
  • The battling is the exact same as it ever was.
  • The gimmicks (Z-moves, totem Pokémon, different gym battles) are fairly underwhelming, but pretty inoffensive. And mega evolution is back, if you're into that.
  • The ride Pokémon look dumb, but they're more convenient than needing to have dedicated HM Pokémon on your team.
  • The roster of new Pokémon in Gen 7 is pretty small, but the game gives you lots of chances to fill your team out with a good variety of Pokémon from other generations to compensate.
  • These are also the last games to include all Pokémon at the time of release.
  • The story / cutscenes are an ADHD filter. If you don't care about what's going on, then the cutscenes are excruciating to get through. But if you do have the patience to put up with them, then they're charming. They present their story better than basically any other main-series Pokémon game that I can think of.
  • Assuming that you leave the experience share off, the challenge actually feels well-balanced, even tough at times if you're not careful.

Going by YouTube, people have already completed the game and got the ending.
I am reminded that I once played th entirety of the leaked Pokémon Moon main story before the official release date.

That was awesome and rather unreal.

Enough time has passed. The shock has worn off. You've accepted that this is the line-up.
You've had a chance to think about them more clearly.

Who's your starter?
I wish tha there is a 'none' option.

Mega attack pull rates is suppose to be 1 in 29, I've open like 80 packs now (I spent way too much but had the money) and pulled none but got 2 SIR like 6 or more Ultra rares and even more art rares than I have EX cards despite EX cards suppose to be 1 in 5 compared to Art rares being 1 in 9.

The mega meganium SIR I got is so off centre though... I just want a Dragonite or the Gengar to trade for both Dragonites

Pokopia basically costs $520 (absurd $450 console with GAME KEYS where you don't even own anything, plus $70 game key itself) ...and it's only a 16 hour game. Longer if you take it slower.

:story:

Yeah no, I'm sorry, fuck that. If it was a $25 game on PC I'd snap it up in a heartbeat. That is an insane amount of money for an incredibly short and underwhelming experience. $520 pokemon minecraft is not appealing, we have pokemon minecraft at home,

And as someone else mentioned to me, they really missed the mark on making use of Ditto's gimmick of being able to transform into ANY pokemon.

Massive snow storm today so I got out of work early and I've spent literally the entire day playing Pokopia. What the fuck is going on? I don't even like these kinds of games. I'm a manly man who plays rogue and soulslikes. For some reason I'm fucking addicted and I can't stop.

This game is just further proof that the Pokemon franchise needs to be with literally any other developer besides Gamefreak.

16 hour game
Nigger, I played for 8 hours straight today and I'm still only in the first area. I have no idea if you're trolling or genuinely that stupid, but whoever told you the game is 16 hours is lying to you. This is easily a 100 hour game.

How do I know the pacing of this game isn't fucked and you spend like 10 hours in area 1 and then like an hour each in later areas? Report back to us once you've played for 16 hours so we can be sure.

Do you guys think we're finally going to get the game we've been waiting for or another $60-$80 disappointment?
Switch 2 specs should make something like the trailer possible, but don't forget the "Not representative of actual gameplay experience. Screenshots and footage are from a product in development and not final" disclaimer. Also that Game Freak is lazy.

Everything I’ve seen of Pokopia almost makes me want to buy it.

But not enough to buy a Switch 2 for it.

Update on dewoking Pokémon Lazarus:
A brute-force search through th entirety of the ROM concluded tha the only place that has the flags is the same location I posted recently. Even searching for similar tiles only led me back to the same place.

Remember that modifying the flags directly seem to be ineffective. If I could undo the LZ77 compression of the tileset, I may be able to modify the actual bytes, but I feel tha the developer actually did some copy-protection because he knew that someone would try to mess wi the flags.

Oh no no no...

How do you feel knowing people already finished the game day 1? You CAN take it slower, it's like Animal Crossing in that regard, but people who want to just get through the story quickly can easily do so in a whole day.
