Correcting me for falling into a bait yesterday, I wonder, what region would Gen 10 be inspired by?

After they moved out of Japan, Pokémon went to the other places Japanese people love, the US and Western Europe, so what's next? I can only think of either Germany or Brazil.

I thought that the issue was the cartridge losing its charge from not having been used recently enough to keep the charge refreshed, not physical degradation of the connectors or the internal components.
Last I heard, as long as you just plugged the cartridge in and turned on the system every now and then, it should last pretty much indefinitely.
Seconding this, although IIRC there also a physical degradation issue affecting certain EU carts (some of which are Pokémon games) due to Nintendo deciding to switch manufacturers.

I accidently let my Meloetta go in ZA, I'm so fucking stupid.

I managed to catch a Shiny Cobalion after two days of soft resets and spawn resets thanks to a 5-star donut packing Fighting-type Sparkling Power Lv. 3. I also caught a Shiny Machamp and a Shiny Riolu during the hunt too.

I'm really not looking forward to hunting the other Swords of Justice and the Eon duo if this is how it's going to go.
I found the birds pretty easy to farm. 1 you just save at the bottom of an elevator and go up and if its not shiny just exit the game and reload save, the other is just a run back and forth respawn/despawn.
Didn't bother with the swords because they are shitmons.

I thought that as well. What worried me was that I know for sure that one of the copies of Y had been played more recently than my copy of X by a few years. The copy of X is perfectly fine. I might try to open it up and see if there's anything different internally.

Lusamine was so legit evil that they had to pull "she was brainwashed" in every appearance since the original.

Ngl, she's one of the prettiest designs; I love the impossible hair.

Yeah basically every fandom depiction of Lusamine is of her base sun and moon appearance, rather than her USUM or anime appearance. For good reason too, because sm lusamine is a genuinely great villain. I think pure evil villains in media can be done well, either by having a range regarding how evil villains are (while still keeping them as evil), or with a villain like SM Lusamine, by having the villain be batshit insane.

Speaking of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, it honestly might be the most interesting "mid" game ever. It's a combination between high highs and low lows, which balances out into a honestly pretty weird game.

Highs include the gameplay improvements like expended pokedex (probably the best regional pokedex IMO), harder battles, easier way to grind BP with mantine surf.

Lows include the lack of changes to sm's story and region, ruining parts of the story, and general missed potential and cool ideas that didn't really go anywhere like the ultra-recon squad and ultramegaopolis. (I mean, if you put on the base SM clothes you couldn't tell the two sets of games apart).

For the aspects I like about using, I really like them, while for the parts I didn't like, I really didn't like or at least found the development decisions to be weird. I still think its a fun experience to do a playthrough on if you're into battling or team building with the frankly amazing regional dex.

Also this brings up an interesting point, a lot of discussion between Pokemon games usually are about how good or bad they are. But one question I don't think anyone has asked before is: what's the most mid Pokemon game? Like wants a pokemon game that you didn't care for much, but couldn't bring yourself (or care enough) to hate on it that much either.

Aside from USUM the other pokemon game is consider in this middle of the road is Scarlet and Violet, but this time it isn't for some complex reasoning, SV is just mid. It's tolerable but not that good, while not being bad enough for me to care enough to shit on it that much.

This also reminds me how the anime had an original villain that was so evil they straight up kill her (Hunter J)

Speaking of Mid, I always laugh at how GF treated Zoroark. They tried to make it into Lucario 2, even making a film for it before the Gen dropped, yet, you can not get Zoroark in BW without events, meanwhile, you can get Lucario in all Gen 4 games. BW2 does give you a Zorua, but still, how tf the devs didn't notice "maybe we shouldn't event lock what is supposed to be a mascot"?

And when you finally get it its a shitmon.
At least they did right when trying to push Zeraora as Lucario 2.0 by making it a mythical and not total shitmon.

Zarude on the other hand gets a movie and nothing else, like one of the most if not the most forgettable movie legendary/mythicals

Zoroark's not that bad. I used the one you catch in Lostlorn Forest for an in-game playthrough plus my run through the Battle Subway's Super Singles, and she pulled her weight just fine. Honestly my biggest problem is probably just that pure Dark is a little one-note. Make Zoroark Dark/Fairy and that would be cool.

ORAS - A meteoroid struck Hoenn 1000 years ago, awakening Groudon and Kyogre and making them fight. Hoenn's ancient people prayed for Rayquaza to intervene, and it used the people's wishes and the meteoroid's energy to Mega Evolve. No, this does not explain how Pokemon other than Rayquaza can Mega Evolve, why do you ask?
Multiverse, how original.
Still Ohmoris best idea

I just read ORAS's mega stuff as there just being a unique origin of mega stones in Hoenn, separate from Kalos's. Heck, I think it was implied the crystals for the weapon and/or the sundial were from meteors, so maybe the Hoenn meteorite is just made of the same stuff. Plus it's probably something like the new types and eggs being hyped up as new discoveries in GS but not so much in later games, including kind of clowning on Elm for being that excited over the Togepi egg. Saying Mega evos are a unique new discovery to Kalos is just a way to catch the players' attention.
It could be a different kind of energy in hoenn.
I like the detail the mega devices vary from trainer to trainer so why shouldnt every region have a different way of channeling mega energy?
The USUM retcon mega evolving hurts the pokemon, being pushed too far over their limits, is bad writing. Guilt tripping, sneaking in an excuse for lore fanboys to cut it off just to bring it back 10 years later with ugly megas and a new plot.

I really do think there's just something inherently wrong with the current batch of Pokemon writers, developers, etc. I just think back to fucking Shigeru Ohmori being asked what to do about Pokemon on your team getting overleveled, and his response was to... put them in the PC. That's right, what are likely your most precious digital Pokemon friends, who have been through the most of the game with you to earn all that EXP... just let them rot in the box, retard. This attitude is also reflected in things like nature mints and bottle caps being just a press-a-button-to-go-competitive thing, whereas super training made you interact/play with your Pokemon to train them up.
If i was Masuda I would have Ohmori kicked out for cooking up the delta episode. It was his first bigger project and somehow GF thought a storyline with a load of text boxes and flying around random cities was a good idea.
However Rayquaza and Deoxys in space was nice, as well as the side story added to new mauville and sea mauville, with Wattson being a bad guy.

Someone else in this thread described X and Y as feeling like the devs were proud to show off what they'd made, and I find that to be a really good way of putting it... and something that's solely lacking in the newer games, which feel like nobody's enjoying making them, let alone expecting anyone to actually enjoy playing them. The earlier games were goofy at times but at least had largely coherent storytelling and attempts at refining the existing gameplay. And likeable characters, even the ones you're supposed to "hate" like Blue/Gary.
The best part, the older games let you roam free without forced handholding.
I still havent finished my Sun Moon Nuzlocke from two years ago because every time I have to press A for half an hour before I can proceed with the game.

Now all we get is retarded retcons, miserable assholes being propped up as goddesses and jokes about karoshi... I could go on a massive fucking rant about that but I've done that before and don't feel like doing it again. Just know that I think Ohmori is a waifufag and his waifus are all fucking shit. I blame Lillie for everything
Clair best waifu <3
She is a bitch and she knows it, the modern companions are holier than thou while straight up abusing the player. The plot forces you to get cucked.
At least it prepares the kids for later in life I guess. \o/

Anyway.
> see video on new Pokemon Too Many Types hack, the last one had some weird gender/furry type shit in it but it was fun enough to watch, let's check it out
> ... It is now being used as a platform for trannyniggerfaggot propaganda, via the purist team who only wants there to be the original 17 types; they go into a school ranting about Arceus saying there's only 17 types because trannyfaggots can only think about one fucking thing, Roxanne tells them this is a school for 12 year olds because kids need to be taught about the seventeen bogmillion new genders that have always existed and they NEED to be groomed into wanting to stick their genitals in a blender, get with the times old man
Does the ROMhack unwoker guy feel like taking a shot at this maybe?...
bruh
BABY type has troon colors

and Tsareena is a terf appearantly? What if the tsareena identifies as male?
Pokedex says: The constant misgendering from his sexist trainer only judging by his cover makes him cry in agony.

I think Pokèmon GO success is what ruined Game Freak. After that, Game Freak saw they could put no effort into anything and still make boatloads.

For fucks sake, the justification for ORAS lacking the Battle Frontier was literally them saying "LOL WHO CARES NO ONE WOULD USE IT ANYWAY KIDS THESE DAYS ARE TOO DISTRACTED BY MOBILE GAMES".
Kids these days are so blackpilled, they step into competitve with showdown, being swept by a team of six level 1 Rattata.

Hisuian Zoroark is an A+++ design and gameplay wise.
