In Game Freak's mind, there are only two regions: Kanto, and whichever region is the setting for the current game. Other regions are lucky to get a passing reference in an NPC's dialogue.

One thing that annoys me about the regions being left abandoned is how we've got no lore whatsoever about Xerneas and Yveltal and we probably never will. In XY, their only relevance to the plot is serving as a battery for a weapon, and the only lore you're given is a brief story by an unnamed NPC. Even the few Pokedex entries they've had after XY were reused from XY.

I hoped that a new Kalos game would let us learn more about Xerneas and Yveltal since the first games did such a shit job, but nope. They're relegated to brief postgame quests that tell us nothing new and they didn't even receive Megas (while their trio master did despite already having two alternate forms). And now that a Kalos game has released, and so has stopped existing for GF, we'll never know what makes these two the "Legendary Pokemon of Kalos."
PL A-Z should have played during the time of the great Kalos war that really happened.

instead, mega mewtwo and mega charizard Z

Do you get multiple holes for them, or are they a single chance to catch?
They are like wild mons so you can throw as many as you want at them and run/despawn or reset for them to be shiny. Latios is easier to just reset and use a warp to its zone to see if its shiny and then reset again, Latias is easier to just walk out of range and respawn it.
Not sure if knocking them out makes them never show up again though but they dont show up again if you catch them.

leave skibidi feraligatr alone!

so anyway yesterday i caught YET ANOTHER shiny machop, now totaling two shiny machops and two shiny machokes. it is also FEMALE.

the game decided to also spawn a shiny delibird at the same time it spawned the shiny machop, so at least i was able to get something that's cute, even if it kinda sucks.

but the game continues to refuse to spawn a single shiny snorunt. feels bad, man.

I didn't touch anything pokémon in these last weeks because I was busy playing Fate/Grand Order.

However this appeared in my youtube recommendations and goddamn, that was funny

As a TCG player that is funny, the only thing that MC fucked up with here was the card he featured at the 2:20 mark (nobody's trying to flip that shitty Mega Gengar ex unless it's in that sealed Battle Deck featuring a IR Haunter promo, it should've been the SIR or Gold Ultra Rare Mega Charizard ex instead).

There is some hope on the horizon though: TPCi's Millennium Print Group just signed a new manufacturing lease that will give them 1.27 million square feet of of space at a manufacturing campus, 400,000 square feet is available for them to use right now and another 866,000 square feet will be usable in 2027.

My :feels:Feels do not come from the video, bu that you stopped playing Pokémon and played Fate/Grand Order, instead.
I am in the same position: while I like Pokémon, I am no that motivated on playing even the DS eries. My focus is on Deltarune, though I am looking at other games.

Fellas, is it autism if I bought a second 3DS to mod because I'm too paranoid about modding the one that I already have?
Thank you, deceptive ebay seller. Very cool.

Now I get to drop another $30 on a new screen and either pay a professional even more money, or attempt what's supposed to be a "very difficult" repair myself. (:_(

As an XY enjoyer everything I hear about ZA just sounds more and more fucking retarded. What the fuck is this about a living thing called "Ange" that's actually the Prism Tower (which somehow went unnoticed for millennia while being used as the centerpoint of a major city and being maintained by one of the gym leaders and used as a gym)? And apparently AZ dies when it's destroyed because it's what caused his immortality, not... the fucking ultimate weapon that was the whole entire point of the plot and which already had an effect on the world by seemingly creating mega stones/evolution.
> during the events of Pokémon X and Y, Lysandre sought to activate both Ange and the ultimate weapon at the same time
Yeah I don't remember that shit being brought up in XY ever. Fuck your retcon, I'm condemning this game to the retard timeline. There should be a real XY remake where the idea of the Prism Tower coming to life is the plot of a retarded B-movie and everyone says it's dumb, that's what we need.
They didn't even need to fucking do this, just have something take over/use the Tower in the modern era.
So what happened to the implication that Diancie/the Anistar sundial was also connected to mega evos/the weapon? Did that get brought up at all? Not that I'd expect them to be able to do anything with it without massively shitting the bed and ruining that too.

... Okay, actually looking at Ange, I feel like it's supposed to be some take on the weapon having marginally different designs in X versus Y, so they decided to take the X design and make it a "life" thing while presumably keeping the Y design as a death weapon. Which is fucking retarded. There's billions of stories out there about how death is just as vital and natural as life and it was implied XY/the original plan for Z would have been one of those, with Zygarde's purpose to keep life and death in balance, so the weapon being able to be powered by Xerneas has the interesting implication that the opposite is also true, that life can be just as horrifically destructive as death. Which is actually interesting and cool.

I am a day 1 FGO JP player, this week is very special for me.

And in my global account I just went through one of the hardest fights in the whole game (I am kinda doing a challenge run with only story supports or my own servants)

Pokemon and FGO may have a similar turn base combat, but the gameplay in one is so much better and they are quite on the similar side (3 skills/1 NP), the passive skills that works as abilities and the strategy.

What I like in Pokemon games aren't the battles themselves but the exploration of the game map itself and building the team to the Elite 4/Champion.

@Horribadger

Well, at least smittyplays announced that the next game to receive a Legacy romhack game was XY, so at least in some months you can play a better game than the original.

Ange's existence almost feels as if it's making Y canon over X by making Ange the Xerneas to the Ultimate Weapon's Yveltal. In ZA it's stated that Ange gives life while the UW takes life, but in XY the UW is shown to be able to both give and take life regardless of which Pokemon it uses as a battery (making Xerneas and Yveltal even more useless but I digress).

Mega Evolution's lore was heavily retconned in ORAS to be part of Hoenn's history and as a result most of the lore connecting it to Kalos was thrown in the garbage. ZA tried to bring back some of the original lore from XY but it's just made a bigger mess, so now we have two distinct backstories for Mega Evolution that are selectively canon depending on the game:
  1. XY - Mega stones were mutated from evolution stones when the UW was fired 3000 years ago in the Kalos region, the first Mega was a Lucario whose trainer found the Mega and Key stones.
  2. ORAS - A meteoroid struck Hoenn 1000 years ago, awakening Groudon and Kyogre and making them fight. Hoenn's ancient people prayed for Rayquaza to intervene, and it used the people's wishes and the meteoroid's energy to Mega Evolve. No, this does not explain how Pokemon other than Rayquaza can Mega Evolve, why do you ask?
If Mega Evolution originated from a meteoroid that fell in Hoenn, then why are machines built in Kalos 2000 years prior so connected to the phenomenon? Hoennians wuz Megas and shieet.

Doesn't ORAS also do the whole "Alternate Dimension/Timeline" shit? I distinctly remember them using that excuse to justify how when you transfer pokemon from R/S/E/FR/LG to ORAS that they weren't able to use MEGAS because their dimension is different from ORAS' Hoenn dimension. Don't they also use this to explain why Hoopa is creating portals in the sky/land that allows legendaries from other regions to appear?

They do, and it's one of the best things about ORAS since it lets you compartmentalize everything post-Gen 5 to Gens 1-5.

ORAS has a bigger explanation, but you have to piece a bunch of info together and read between the lines. So basically, there's two relevant types of energy: natural energy and life energy. The Earth is full of natural energy (like, literally inside it), and since meteorites can be conceptualized as like mini planets, meteorites also contain a smaller amount of natural energy inside them. Meteorites that crash onto Earth can then break off pieces full of natural energy, that can somehow become attuned to a specific Pokemon species' life energy (aka Infinity Energy) and become a Mega Stone. Keystones are created from the same source, but they're attuned to human life energy. When you Mega Evolve, the stones are acting like a way for you and your Pokemon's life energy to connect to form a burst of power (imagine the energy flowing between trainer and Pokemon in an infinity symbol pattern),

A way for these meteorite pieces to be have their natural energy converted into Pokemon life energy is for a massive blast of life energy from a legendary to wash over them. The wave of energy given off by the Ultimate Weapon in Kalos 3000 years ago created the Mega Stones that are found in Kalos, and the second firing of it in XY created more, which are the Mega Stones you can only find in the post-game. Kyogre and Groudon letting off a wave of energy when they Primal Reverted during the story of ORAS had the same effect, which is where the Mega Stones you can only find in-game after the Kyogre/Groudon event came from.

In ORAS, a giant meteor hit where Sootopolis is thousands of years ago, which opened up a rift in the Earth where natural energy can flow out of, which is the Cave of Origin. Groudon and Kyogre can use this massive natural energy for Primal Reversion (called that because natural energy was somehow more plentiful millions of years ago). It's never really stated where the Red and Blue Orbs came from, but what Team Magma/Aqua are trying to do at Mt. Chimney is shove a bunch of natural energy from the volcano into the meteor they stole to turn it into a new Orb, so presumably the Orbs are similar to Mega Stones but containing raw natural energy that Groudon and Kyogre can use, They probably either came from the Cave of Origin, or from the meteor that opened up the Cave of Origin.

Speaking of meteors, our only known sources of Keystones are the Anister sundial and the meteor that fell to Sootopolis, the former of which is also said to have fallen from space. Perhaps being in cities is what caused them to become attuned to human life energy and make Keystone? Don't know. But the meteor that fell to Sootopolis was the Keystone used in Mega Evolving Rayquaza thousands of years ago, when the people of the dragon tribe prayed to the stone. Rayquaza doesn't need a Mega Stone because it feeds off meteorites and converts their natural energy directly into its own life energy it can use to Mega Evolve. Hoenn is constantly pelted in meteorites at a greater rate than other regions, and combined with events with the legendaries that blast natural energy out, is why Hoenn has as many Mega Stones as Kalos.

It's a pretty retarded plot point in the Delta Episode too. Near the end of the episode, a rocket is created to teleport a meteor that's on a collision course with Hoenn, but Zinnia destroys the device responsible for powering the rocket because the meteor could theoretically be teleported to a "version of Hoenn where Mega Evolution was never discovered" and Rayquaza needs to Mega Evolve to destroy it.

This makes Zinnia even more of an unlikable cunt than she already was because characters within a story don't know what the player does. Sure, we as the player know what she's referring to, but she shouldn't be this sure of this alternate Hoenn's existence, nor should she immediately assume that the rocket would teleport the meteor to that dimension in particular. From the characters' perspective, she effectively destroyed that world's only hope for the sake of a hunch she can't prove.

ORAS has a bigger explanation, but you have to piece a bunch of info together and read between the lines.
Whenever I worry I know too much about Pokemon lore you appear and remind me I don't know enough. You explained it better than the games did, but I'm still annoyed that Mega Evolution was retconned into being Hoenn's thing. Kalos as a region doesn't have much going for it, and its most unique thing (lore-wise, mechanically they should've stuck to it) was taken away and given to another region.
