What’s funny is that the Japanese were shocked to see people having these massive collections, sealed or otherwise. A lot of them were angry about people buying out terastal festival when prismatic evolutions was being scalped to high heaven and were disgusted by the greed.
Earlier this year when Jap mcdonald was doing its pokemon cards they got scalped hard and basically every post I saw was turning it into an excuse to hate Chinese lol, gotta love it.

I expect it to get really bad with Ascended heroes given how it's releasing in waves with the booster bundle not even releasing till April.

Earlier this year when Jap mcdonald was doing its pokemon cards they got scalped hard and basically every post I saw was turning it into an excuse to hate Chinese lol, gotta love it.
That always cracked me up because outside of the Chinese language cards for mainly Taiwan and Singapore, everything else gets held up by customs. There’s some pics circulating of them with a folding picnic table loaded with hundreds of booster boxes of scarlet, violet and 151. I’ve also read that there’s more of that pikachu as PSA 10 than the entirety of the English base set.

More cool stuff from the pokemon novel:

When interacting with other creatures, we cannot make any assumptions about them based on our own human standards.
Currently, among Pokémon trainers and pet owners of exotic Pokémon, there have been various incidents resulting from “doing things with your Pokémon”.

The owners then get mad saying “I just wanted my Pikachu to be clean. But as soon as I was naked it betrayed me.” or “I just wanted to give Pidgey something tasty, but it didn't understand.” And so, in a rage the Pokémon are abandoned. As a result, there are countries where the increasing number of stray Pokémon is becoming an issue. While in reality, the owner was the one at fault.
Putting aside such nonsense, there are also instances where vicious Pokémon have injured or even killed their owners. Though they are often unwilling to admit it due to embarrassment, according to unpublished records, 86% of Pokémon Trainers have sustained injuries caused by their own Pokémon.
Many of these incidents occur due to the human arrogance of thinking “It's my Pokémon, so it should do whatever I tell it.”
These mistakes often arise as a result of the preconceived notions they have from depictions of Pokémon in anime, films and novels.
The most dangerous mistake is attempting to capture a Pokémon that moves in large hordes of allies.
Pokémon are not creatures that exist simply for human convenience.
Pokémon are Pokémon. They have various ways of life in this world.

The owners then get mad saying “I just wanted my Pikachu to be clean. But as soon as I was naked it betrayed me.”
I'm sorry I have to remind everyone of this.

Golurk is an incomprehensible mess. All of the Tatsugiri pull a Falinks and don't even change beyond sharing a boogie board. Crabominable just gets funny hair, Golisopod grows a beard, Garchomp just gets more spikes. and Staraptor puts on makeup. I'm sure a few of these could look alright as full models, but the only ones I even have the vaguest hopes for at this point are Golisopod, Crabominable, and Scovillain. (Mostly because the bar is so fucking low for Scovillain and Crabominable that I can't imagine they'll be much worse than their base forms.)

  • Mega Meowstic is the same for both genders because fuck you.
  • Garchomp loses its ground typing and becomes a speedy special attacker.
  • Bored of describing all the stats for the competitive autists here. Have a comprehensive dump of TMs and Pokémon stats and use ctrl + f instead. Here's a direct github link in case the archive craps out.
  • Golisopod changes its Water typing to Steel upon mega evolving and becomes a tank.
  • Absol Z gains a Ghost typing.
  • Staraptor changes Normal for Fighting.

Editing this as new mega shots come out. Here's Absol Z, the world's subtlest Sephiroth fursona ever.
1765332247210.png1765334998778.png

Darkrai got FET
1765333120530.png
Seriously this is such legendary ass. Who the fuck designed this? Even accounting for the T-pose, this is such utter shit.

EDIT: even when animated it still looks like a bloated fish. Then its only "cool" aspect is turning into the most generic "dark eye" ever. Such a shitty mega solely exists to make a pun.

Glimmora looks.... like wasted potential, I guess.
1765333845837.png
I don't know, it's fine. The portrait made it look way worse. This is still fucking stupid, I don't see the point of the Pinocchio nose and think adding more floating shit around a design is really cheating the whole "mega" aspect of things. But it could be worse. I guess.
Really doesn't fix the problem of base Glimmora looking like a mid-evo, and actually makes it worse by guaranteeing it won't get a third stage evolution in the future. Great.

Heatran becomes a more obvious frog.
1765333937771.png
It's fine, but it looks like a normal forme change. Not a mega. Also something something the soyjak mega is so fat and muddy that it can't move properly something something obviously made to be a meme. If this thing was brown, it'd look like The Great Mighty Poo.

EDIT: The colors help it a little, but I honestly don't know whether it looked better without them or not
1765344493733.png
I kind of like it as a living slag monster, but the eyes looking in two different directions just makes it look retarded instead of intimidating or chaotic. It feels like the kind of design that should be rampaging around barfing up molten lava everywhere, but it looks like it would barely be able to move swiftly enough to do that.
This is probably the most competent design so far, though. Jesus christ how did they get worse than the base game. How. :lossmanjack:

Meowstic is literally just male/female stitched together.
1765334023780.png

Again, expect only the absolute most annoying people you know to start hailing this thing as a nonbinary genderfluid icon.

Holy fuck.
1765334782928.png1765335980236.png
I'm... I think I'm sorry, Crabominable fans?
Honestly this is bordering on so bad it's good. The claw thing is genuinely cool but... icy high heels. Giant hair. Jesus christ.
1765335999136.png

Mega Staraptor is just a bad fan mega from 2006.
1765335491553.png1765346479681.jpeg
I can see it growing on me, though. It's straightforward and kind of looks like some sort of desert eagle.

Scovillain, though... fucking hell.
1765335527655.png
Another bad fan mega. I just wish the normal form had that darker contrast and the horns on its heads. Then this thing wouldn't need to exist and the base form would look less like a middle stage.

EDIT: the supervillain collar makes the mega worth it but god it could have been done so much better
1765343026840.png
Imagine, if you will, the collar stretching up behind the existing heads. Imagine the chili pepper tie just not existing, making this look like some kind of villainous getup instead of a particularly peeved off office worker. Imagine, if you can, the possibility of this design being good.

Now weep, as you realize that it never shall be.

EDIT: dex entry says it uses the tie as a club, that's even stupider than I thought possible. Jesus
1765395811064.png

Garchomp Z looks infinitely worse, though, so I guess I'll count my blessings.
1765337390778.png1765395440253.png
This is a special attacker btw. With no ground typing. Lol lmao.

FINALLY got a shot of Mega Golisopod.
1765338872460.png1765395504024.png
Wtf. This was the easiest shot in the world and they missed it. Kind of. Maybe?? I don't know what the hell they were going for. They took away all of the weight the base design had... while making it a tank and changing its typing to steel. They gave it rickets and made it... smaller. And then they stuck facial hair on top of it? The longer I look at this, the easier it is to see how they could have salvaged this fucking thing, and the worse the actual design gets. SERIOUSLY, HOW DID THEY FUMBLE THIS. WHAT ARE THOSE PROPORTIONS.

Waitwaitwait. Is it trying to imitate some kind of droid? A tank? Some sort of robot in general? If so, why give it a beard (beyond some stupid nod to it very obviously being a samurai)??
you_seein_this_shit.gif

EDIT: an anon put a name to the thing I was thinking of
1765340880962.png
it's a droideka

but it's like a really poorly executed droideka that can't roll into a ball

bravo gamefreak

EDIT 2: it's pretty much what I expected, the top two arms are supposed to be literal pin missiles and it's a quadruped. It's still very bad. They made the color palette worse, fucked up the original's top-tier proportions, and somehow made a tank look unreasonably flimsy and immobile. This design looks like it would mega evolve into the base variant, not the other way around, and it's actually bothering me so much I might bother with a redesign. (Probably not, but... god, it's so easy to see how it could have been good.)

Here's Golurk. It's... I don't know.
1765342831311.png
I think it's bad. The glowing knuckles are cool. The idea of its energy overflowing like this is fine. But the giant X on its chest is just fucking stupid, and the asymmetrical eyes make it look like sans undertale another bad fan creation. The purple mist is also very jarring, and its shape makes no sense. (If it's supposed to be a misty vapor leaving Golurk's arms, why is it pointed inwards? Why does it have this big solid portion that trails off? It's just weird.)
The only reason Golurk stands out is because it's a good idea with a bad execution, while the vast majority of the other DLC megas are just bad ideas with horrible executions.

EDIT: oh fuck those purple things are wings
1765343192186.png1765395397786.png

...THAT'S EVEN STUPIDER
IT COULD ALREADY FLY, IN A WAY COOLER FASHION
1765343230884.png
Is this supposed to be some weird nod to Icarus? Are those wings just for show as some kind of reference?? God knows that if the next region hadn't leaked earlier everyone would be calling this ultimate proof of a Greek-based region for gen 10. That would've been funny to see.

Final one, Mega Magearna. Was posted while I was asleep.
1765393363118.png

Also looks like a form change. A bad one, mind, that emphasizes Magearna's Steel typing... in a form that has it lose that typing for Fighting. All of its animations revolve around special-looking attacks, when it's a physical attacker, and nothing about this screams "Fighting" at all.
  • DLC opens with a double battle(?) against some characters from the base game.
  • Korrina just fucking hands you the stones for the ORAS Legendaries.
  • ORAS starters are exclusive to online battling because fuck you.
  • Legendaries are fought in rogue mega battles.
  • The little girl (Ansha? don't remember her name) is Diantha's daughter, not her niece/younger self/whatever
  • Gamefreak acknowledged the demand for a Mega Flygon solely to make fun of it (there is still no mega flygon)
1765337026201.png
  • The new Hoenn Legendary theme is penis music.

  • The entire plot is bumfuck retarded. The only reason Mega Darkrai exists is because it was... living in Lumiose Tower this entire time, somehow. The only reason Hyperspace Lumiose exists (besides budget cuts) is because... Darkrai made it up with its nightmare powers, somehow. So the grayscale copy-pasted Lumiose bits are supposed to look like a literal nightmare. Lol. I don't think the relation to donuts or Hoopa is ever explained beyond Hoopa's existing dimensional-warp powers.
  • Zeraora is seemingly unobtainable despite being heavily marketed.
  • Garchomp Z is also absent; possibly being saved for online, like Baxcalibur was.
  • You cannot earn exp in the DLC areas.
  • All DLC content has a time limit on it. This can be seen in the top left of the UI, where the limit counts down constantly-- even during boss fights.
  • The entire DLC takes approx. 5 hours to complete.

honestly this is mostly just for my SS partner, assuming he's looking at this thread. I made an updated mega ranking list. One with previous megas, one without.
megas_no_primals_12.10.25.pngz-a_megas_12.10.25.jpg
I am actually baffled, I dislike pretty much all of these DLC designs. The few exceptions still have me feeling conflicted at best and tepid at worst. I was expecting at least one Mega Chesnaught or Mega Scolipede to convince me that someone over there's still got it, but nothing in the DLC even comes close. A few designs had potential to come close-- Golurk, Golisopod, Scovillain-- but they all wasted it, thoroughly, to the point that even bringing them up in this context feels laughable.

After thinking about the topic for a bit, I came up with this:
the_problem_with_za_megas.png
to sort of shorthand explain why things feel off. A lot of this shit just doesn't fit the previous design philosophy of "super saiyan evolution." The vast majority are very obviously scrapped forms of some other kind.
  • Scrapped Gigantamaxes do little more than elongate features and/or exaggerate one oversized aspect of the base form, alongside sometimes relying on particle effects to look "newer" (eg Froslass's long dress and snowy cloud, Zygarde's giant cannon and glowing body, Meganium's elongated neck and giant flowers, etc.)
  • Scrapped Paradoxes just share a lot of similarities with their respective designations:
    • Staraptor has a bunch of spiky hair alongside useless facial markings and a "wilder" look, Absol is stretching it a little but generally fits the same criteria, Eelektross is also slightly stretching it but also dons eyeliner and a "wilder" look, Crabominable is a fucking caveman
    • Scolipede is covered in metallic-looking armor and glowing neon lights, Golisopod is also covered in metallic-looking armor and gets glowing pupils (as well as an explicit nod to military technology), neither are especially drastic departures from their base forms outside of shuffling proportions around
  • Forme changes are mostly their base forms, just with one relatively minor tweak or addition. Mostly hats (Hawlucha, Tatsugiri, Drampa), recolors (Zeraora, also Drampa), or random floating bits (Magearna, Glimmora). Falinks is literally just the base form rearranged.
  • AI slop is kind of self-explanatory. The kind of shit an LLM would pump out without thought. Random bits of existing Pokémon taped onto other designs in haphazard fashions, horrible color schemes that make little to no sense, incoherent linework and/or incredibly generic """expansions""" of an existing concept that wasn't always so blatant. It's a little hard to explain-- you'll just know it when you see it. Skarmory probably would have gone in the Gigantamax pile if it wasn't so incoherently proportioned and/or had longer feathers.
  • Designs jettisoned for a stupid reference may or may not look like any of the above, but none of that matters because it's obvious they only exist to be a fucking reference.
    • Darkrai is any given Kirby final boss, but more likely to be Backbeard from GeGeGe no Kitaro. Alternatively, it's just a fucking eyeball and the entirety of Darkrai's design was destroyed for the sake of making its collar look vaguely like eyelashes.
1765401493987.png
  • Pyroar is just the kanji for fire.
1765401650533.png
1765401791494.png
  • Excadrill was either going to go here or in the scrapped Gigantamax pile, but given that Gurren Lagann seems to center around a robot whose warm-colored drill can turn huge I think it might be safer to call it a reference.
1765402126596.png
  • Feraligatr is a reference to its fucking prevolution. If you want to be more vicious, you can also call it a reference to ravioli or a toilet lid.
158.png1765402205825.png1765402268035.png
  • Victreebel seems to be attempting some sort of waterskin/gourd looking thing. It could also probably go in "scrapped Gigantamaxes," but if I put everything that could go in there in that category then there'd be more scrapped Gigantamaxes than actual Megas, and I don't want to deal with people insisting I only did that so I could complain that old = good, new = bad.
1765402431806.png
  • Scrafty's entire species was throttled just to reference one trainer in this one game. Even if in-universe it's meant to be the other way around, it is very obvious that this design was made solely to synergize with this character and not vice versa. Unless Gamefreak were intending to reference the KKK with the franchise's blackest Pokémon ever, I am quite sure that this was their thought process while designing the damned thing.
1765402578571.png

This isn't to say that the "actual Megas" among this batch are any good-- I still have Golurk, Lucario Z, Baxcalibur, and more in there after all-- just that they seem to fit the original M.O of the concept much better than the designs I segregated out. (This also doesn't mean the segregated designs are particularly bad, although the vast majority still are.)

I can only imagine that most of these designs were repurposed solely for the sake of easy marketing before Gen 10, especially given how GF seems to be treating Zeraora, and most of them didn't have nearly enough time dedicated to their designs to wipe away their probable origins as other gimmicks. Knowing that Z-A was actually supposed to be a radically different Johto game only adds fuel to the fire-- they probably panicked upon changing concepts and just threw in whatever the fuck they had lying around to make up for lost development time.

They likely did it for the protagonists (compare Harmony and Paxton's hats to Lyra and Ethan's), so they probably did the same for a lot of these designs. That would also explain why the starter trio is 2/3 Johto, why many of the Kanto Pokémon that got love were aces of Johto/Kanto characters (Starmie, Dragonite, Raichu), why Japanese regions got more focus than Kalos in its own fucking game*, and why the Japanese region that got the most focus (outside of its starter trio) was the region most heavily tied to Johto.

*Kanto got 6 new megas, Johto got 3, Hoenn got 2 and Sinnoh got 6. Meanwhile, Kalos only got 11 Megas with both the base game and DLC, with one of those arguably being an Alolan mega (Zygarde 100%) and 3 of them being locked behind online battling. 2 of these megas also shafted signature gender differences entirely, leaving Kalos with 6 fewer Megas than all of Poke-Japan instead of 4 and 1 less than just Kanto and Sinnoh.
Unova alone got 7 new Megas. 6 if not counting the DLC. All of these megas are obtainable in the base game without online requirements. Only 8 of Kalos' Megas can say the same for themselves. Unova got as many obtainable Megas in the base game as Kalos did with its DLC, in a Kalos game.

Do not buy this for thirty dollars. Do not buy it for three. Please support anything except for this franchise.

Chapter 4 - interesting stuff:

On that topic, while I specified that she's a female officer, there's probably no need to specify her gender.
In this country, most important fields of work like the police are dominated by women, any men who had jobs with any connection to the police were usually either thieves or private eyes.

Most men tended to try and become Pokémon trainers.
However, the harsh truth is that not everyone can be a Pokémon trainer, more people fail than succeed. Some men realise this early enough and are able to make a change of career, but others chase their dreams until the bitter end and become unable to integrate into society. Having become an adult with no skills other than the ability to throw a Poké Ball makes them effectively useless. Having failed to chase their dreams, they lose their confidence. They were nothing but talk. Unreliable. They always dreamed of getting rich quick. If people like this were allowed to be police, bankers or doctors, cities would be filled with thieves and hospitals would create casualties rather than cure them.
As such, most important, serious jobs in this country were handled by women.

Jenny, the woman on duty tonight wouldn't be the first person to come to mind. Ever since the times of their ancestor Heiji Jenny and his daughter Zenigata Jenny as thief takers (the old equivalent of police officers), the Jenny family have worked as police within this country, as of now, one out of every three police officers in the country had the name Jenny.
The remaining two thirds were either women who had changed their surname after marriage, or their daughters or other relatives.
... Of course, not everyone changes their name after marriage, either way, the Jenny family were well known as police officers.
To sum up, in this country... the name Jenny and the police... are practically synonymous.

The woman's name was Jessie... A piece of trivia. Prior to becoming a Pokémon thief, she had experience as an art thief. The artworks she stole, if featured on any treasure appraisal program on TV anywhere in the world, would be valued ridiculously low, but she only ever cared about their beauty.

It goes without saying that modern communication systems have their roots in the postal service. However, we have no intention of discussing the origins of post offices in Parie, Franse in the year 1653 or the origin of postage stamps in Engliss in the year 1839. Or how an English man named Cooke patented the telegram in 1843. Or even how the famous Graham Bell patented the telephone in 1876 (despite not actually inventing it himself), or how Italia's Marconi made wireless transmission feasible in 1894, we have no intention of mentioning any of these things.
What we am trying to impress is that to communicate with people far away, we continue to use old methods such as post, phones and radio as we did in days gone by.
With the development of communication technologies such as fax, mobile phones, PC messengers, TV phones, what is transferred through them are not actual physical objects. With the power of the internet, you can see the face of someone on the other side of the world while you talk to them, but you're not actually talking face to face. You are merely seeing an image transmitted by electrical signals and hearing an electronic synthesis of a voice.
To truly speak face to face, you must either go to them or have them come to you.
However, that takes time. No matter what method of transportation you use, you cannot travel the distance instantaneously.

Eventually, the feeling that the conversion of physical matter into electrical transmissions was impossible began spreading among researchers. This was called the Untransmittable Matter Theory.
However, an incredible discovery was made during the current century.
It was the result of a three year old's childish mischief.
As you are aware, it is illegal for children to possess Poké Balls without special permission.
However, this child wanted a Poké Ball more than anything.
The child secretly took one of their father's Poké Balls and placed it in of the copy machine in their house. The child thought they could copy it and create a duplicate Poké Ball.
It's the kind of logic a child would have. But the important detail here is that the Poké Ball wasn't empty, it had a Pokémon inside. Additionally, the copy machine had a fax function. Or rather, it was a fax machine with a copy function.
The child got confused between the copy button and the auto-fax button.
The auto-fax button was set to the father's office.
Meanwhile... The fax machine at the father's office experienced a paper jam. When they opened the machine up to determine the cause, they found a Poké Ball that no-one had put in there.
Basically, the Poké Ball had been transmitted from home to the office.
Why did the Poké Ball end up inside the fax machine?
However, the Pokémon who should have been inside the Poké Ball was nowhere to be found. When the father got home, he enquired with his sobbing child about the Poké Ball that had vanished from the copy machine.
The scientific community went into an uproar when it learned of the incident.
The Poké Ball was just an ordinary Poké Ball used for catching and transporting Pokémon.
The Poké Ball itself had no special features to allow it to be transferred by fax.
Which meant it had to be the power of the Pokémon inside.
The thought was that it had some kind of ability to convert its own body along with the Poké Ball into electrical transmissions.
The result of the investigation concluded that it was a feature common to all Pokémon.
In a complicated phrase this is the Portable Beast Transmission Ability. (Abbreviated at Portran Ability... Also known as Pokécom.)
When Pokémon are dormant inside a small item like a Poké Ball, they can demonstrate the ability to convert themselves and their container into electrical signals.
However, it is unknown whether this ability is used consciously or not by the Pokémon.
And so, scientists piled up their research.
In the early experiments, even when the Poké Ball was successfully transferred, the Pokémon inside would repeatedly go missing.
Due to the knowledge that fax transmissions over phone lines or ordinary PC transmissions are not of a high enough quality to avoid accidents, it is now illegal to transfer Pokémon via those connections.
As of now, improvements to the materials used to develop Poké Balls have led to Poké Balls that allow easier transmission of Pokémon.
However, without a Pokémon inside, transmitting a Poké Ball is impossible.
In fact, if a Pokémon were inside you could transmit even a wallet or a pencil case. (This is illegal due to a high chance of accidents. When transmitting Pokémon, please use only official standard transmittable Poké Balls.)
However, and while we may be repeating ourselves, even with the latest Poké Ball technology, without a Pokémon inside, it cannot be transmitted.
Which means that in this world, out of all physical objects both animate and inanimate, only Pokémon can be electronically transmitted. Why is it limited to only Pokémon? This is one of the great mysteries that hold the hearts of both scientists and amateur researchers alike.
Additionally, when it comes to current transmission lines, the most suitable for transmitting Pokémon are the Pokémon Center's exclusive computer network and the Pokémon Satellite Transmitter, but for everyday usage, we recommend the International Communication Bureau's own high capacity Pokénet. There are some fanatics who use unofficial transmission networks as well as a few people who will use a cheap internet connection, but this is not recommended as the safety of the Pokémon is not guaranteed.
To boil down to the main point behind this long story so far, we believe that the pricing of Pokémon transmission should be revised.
Since the worldwide Pokémon boom, the number of users who transmit Pokémon has increased dramatically.
The Pokémon that are transmitted are living creatures. To develop the necessary defences to ensure the safety of the Pokémon and prevent hackers from committing theft... Or rather, kidnapping, as they are living creatures... we would like to propose a 30% price increase to the cost of transmitting Pokémon.

"""New""" PokeM'aam rom hack dropped in the form of a bastardization of Renegade Platium.

And uh, how many are actually T&H women? They can't create, only corrupt, so they had to corrupt someone else's rom hack rather than make their own (to my knowledge, probably new minor things, INB4 fag flags everywhere like that one rom hack).
More like RenHERMgade amiright???

This is a special attacker btw. With no ground typing. Lol lmao.
I didn't even see they took away his Ground typing. What the hell, man, sure the design was mediocre but at least Nasty Plot sets zooming around with STAB Earth Power could've been fun to see. Mono Dragon has been jobless since Fairies came onto the scene.

This is interesting: some of the hoopa holes have a mission objective to find a shiny. And when I got that, it was already spawned in.

And it was a tepig, so I'm satisfied.

Really I'm just glad to have a shiny hunting method that isn't reliant on auto-fire on a controller.

Mega Magearna
quick update on this because I got some things wrong and can’t edit the original post anymore

Mega Magearna’s type doesn’t change, it’s still fairy/steel. Fairy/fighting was a misread from its movepool— I think it might’ve learned some new fighting attack and I mixed that up with its actual typing when doing the write-up.

I also found an image of all of its alternate palettes:

I’d say the original form overwriting the original palette would be cute if it wasn’t very clearly another cost-cutting move. Especially when considering that the literal only change between base Mega Magearna and its original form is the color of the skirt trimmings and gears. At least this kind of has some reasonable in-game explanation for it, I guess.

EDIT: Zeraora is also obtainable in-game. The process is just hilariously convoluted, so nobody picked up on it until now.
You can also obtain damn near every mythical from the last 15 years in-game. Meloetta, Meltan, Melmetal, Magearna, Marshadow why do so many of these names start with M, Genesect, Keldeo, Volcanion, Hoopa, Diancie, and Darkrai are all catchable.
Lots of legendaries are also catchable. The Musketeer trio, Lati@s, Weather trio, Heatran, Mewtwo (through an event), and of course the Kalos legendaries are all catchable.
Gamefreak's continual erosion of the boundaries between various classifications is getting very tiring, but at this point I am no longer surprised.

Chapter 4 - interesting stuff:
What is this? Looks interesting, certainly has more thought put into it than anything Gamefreak wrote for 30 years now.

I call bullshit on the Pokemon transfer thing. It's clear that this universe has very advanced teleporting technology, they are left all over the place casually and are regularly used in both villain bases and cities. It would be trivial to teleport a Pokeball away, transferring it over the internet is another thing but I always thought this was more of a tagging procedure, to let the user keep tabs who is in or out of the party, while the actual Pokemon get teleported somewhere safe to a government standardized safehouse or facility of some kind. When someone wants to withdraw a Pokemon, they do so, again like you would with a bank, maybe they are stored somewhere on-site within Pokemon Centers. Still more plausible than actually transferring them like data over wire, 0s and 1s.

Interesting tidbit about failed Pokemon trainers, that would explain why there is just an army of goons at the ready in every region and does more to justify existence of Team Rocket than the games ever did.

I read everything you posted and I genuinely can't see who gives a shit about this DLC. None of it is interesting, you're just paying $30(lol) to humiliate your favorite Pokemon with an awful Mega while some cringy story(probably cut content) unfolds for a few hours. I've seen postgames more interesting than this and they came free with the games.
