There’s no way for kids to become nostalgic for these sets since the majority of these cards are bought up by adults. It’s an incestuous degrading cycle, where now they’re even scalping reconstructed decks because of the promo illustration cards.

I don't even get it, is this meltdown over Lazarus over a couple of posts on the Farms or is /v/ shitting on it too or something?

And yes, the music sounds like an 8 year old messing around with GarageBand for the first time. It's not a god-awful hack or anything, besides the needless trans flags ("PLEASE NOTICE THE FACT I'M TRANS, AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT BEING EVERYWHERE, FUCK YOU!") and the music which I tend to mute on hacks anyway. But it's nothing that special either, I think Seaglass worked well as a quality of life upgrade for Emerald, whereas this is pretty mid.

Seaglass was always mediocre, the only good thing was the diving minigame.

Just got banned from the romhack sub reddit because the mods keep deleting shit there and and not letting people comment. And this was me not even mentioned Lazarus or a Lazarus post, just the usual Reddit tranny janny with a power trip because I called them out.

The worse is that it was in a thread of some doofus basically doing an APOLOGY VIDEO in post form like he was someone important or of note.

Jesus, when I think I hate redditors enough, shit like that happens, I must up my game.

I WOULD POST IT HERE FOR COMEDY SAKE BUT OF COURSE THE MODS DELETED THE THREAD LOL

Wow, this sounds like ass.

I play my games on mute while watching other stuff but this sounds so fucking bad that mute wouldn't be an option, it would be mandatory.
 
In the earlier TCG, Quagsire had Grass weakness and Lightning resistance, which was pretty close to the vidya type matchups. In later TCG, the Lightning resistance was lost.

Then the weakness became Lightning.

As time went on the TCG increasingly divorced itself from video game mechanics. Quagsire gets a Lightning weakness because that’s the weakness Water cards had at large.

I still don't get why pokemon abandoned the idea of making games for the card games like we had for GB and GBC. Yu-Gi-Oh GBA games and beyond were great and they always had virtual card games alongside the actual cards but without the need to buy the cards. And no, TCG pocket isn't the same thing. TCG pocket is basically duel links for Pokemon. A simplified version of the real game

But it's pretty much dead because TCG Live stole all its hype

Eh, it's actually fairly cheap to play if you avoid "blinging out" your deck and running the highest-available rarities. For example, the Mega Absol Box deck that won Brisbane Regionals a couple of weeks ago runs you about $60 USD if you buy all of the cards as singles at their lowest rarity but it quickly balloons to over $2,000 if you run the most expensive version of each card.

Live is honestly terrible compared to Online and it's in large part due to TPCi deciding to move development of future apps to an in-house dev team.

I miss TCG Online. I could play my Gen 4/5 era structure decks against other structure decks and actually have fun* instead of having to fuss with learning an ever changing meta or spending money. I could even do my dailies with those so I did actually have a good pile of currency and packs. The day the servers closed I opened like 100 packs that I had left unopened because I didn't need them.

I never moved to Live because from what I understand it was only newer cards and I wanted to keep being a boomer and sticking with my old mons and cards.

*The structure decks from Gen 4 through 7 were actually really balanced against each other and when my opponent used those it felt fair and fun. Gen 8 structure decks were a massive spike of power and were agonizingly unfun to play against. Its been years but just remembering that stupid Leon Charizard deck box makes me muscle memory abandon game.

I like live for playtesting, but getting back to back to back to back matches with the exact same deck in a diverse meta is the only thing I genuinely dislike. Those little code cards are nice and I’m glad people are willing to throw them out.

I’d like to see cards from pre-SwSh and a GLC format, but TPC is more focused on downshifting staples for their equivalent of pauper in magic.

it is, and whatever old cards that were previously released are banned from ranked play.

Last time i played it, I had a custom colorless deck with a trainer card called "Cafe Master". By the time the Lugia deck update was released for TCG Live, they banned that card for ranked play, so my deck was useless except for casual play.

You must be talking about when regulation E cycled out. Live is beholden to the standard format for ranked and I’d be against it if it weren’t for the fact that expanded is miserable and it’s free to play.

All this drama has done is convinced me to make a #based Pokemon rom hack for folks here on the 'farms.

Pokemon: Sand Wars. Where you, a young Unnovan freshly recruited to the army, is sent off to fight terrorists strapped with Voltorbs in the Pokemon world equivalent of the Fallujah.

The sentiment seems to be CHUDS ARE MAD IT'S TROONSLOP AND NOT FULL OF SLURS AND SEX JOKES

The music is just a Pokemon midi and barely more listenable than a midi where every instrument is the same piano. And the GBC graphics lose their charm imo when you learn a lot of the tileset is from a pre existing asset pack. Not exactly what I'd call "made with care" like the Twitter post says. I think it will impress the general audience that doesn't know how the graphics and music are made, but then again there are romhackers glazing this

Lots of sexy army babes not in proper uniform to battle on base, ugly radical Pokemon world terrorists to fight off base (they had Pokemons of mass destruction, Unnova had no choice but to order an invasion!) This should be easy.

Give me a few weeks, and we'll see how it compares to Pokemon Lazarus. That's the irony of all the Pokemon Lazarus backlash - Pokemon rom hacks are surprisingly easy to make if you know a bit of Assembly, and how to index pixel art. So anyone up in arms over a Rom hack with troonery bullshit can either hack it out, or make their own non-troon filled one.

...should I ask Null if he wants to be in the hack?
