One thing that remains janky as fuck for 3 games in a row now is the sneak mechanics. If I had a dollar for every time an NPC or pokemon somehow flips around instantly while I'm sneaking, I'd have enough money to buy a better handheld
Idk they're fine in Arceus, and I don't have my copy of ZA yet, but SV didn't really have them, did it? It had some leftover bits of LA moves, but it didn't really need sneaking like LA did.

and sneak was mostly based on sound, so using stuff like the stealth spray was important

One of the blueberry quests in rotation was starting a battle in sneak. It was a coin flip whether you'd succeed regardless of what you did, and certain mons, (seemingly the rounder models), couldn't be snuck up on period

In ZA in battle zones you want to sneak so you can get a free pre emptive attack, but also if the enemy sees you first they can sometimes just stun your pokemon to make it eat an attack. If you aren't sneaking they'll see you in about 0.2 seconds when they suddenly turn without a tell toward you, in sneak mode it's more like 0.25 seconds, so the strategy is to hide behind something like a tree, try to angle yourself so you can "see" their pokemon to lock on and have it go attack.

Someone on /vp/ pointed out that the game hadn't been out for that long, I know it's probably a review copy but I'm going to choose to believe he pirated the game
Shouldn't really judge a game for its playtime, but 17 hours doesn't sounds that impressive.
Looking at the final boss footage from youtube (I can't be bothered), it's kind of ass.
I don't know if its me being a smug prick because I came fresh out of Silksong, or was expecting at least something on par with deltarune's chapter 4 or Explorers of Sky at this point, but it just feels unimpressive.
I guess "most epic end-game" for pokemon standards isn't really that hard to reach. I haven't played Yiik I.V, and I bet that's superior on every level.

I replayed sword this week just to kill time before this game, and my full time for base + DLC was roughly 17. That number feels pretty low for a new game with new mechanics IMO
I can't be bothered looking at saves in my pokemon games even if I still had them.
I think it's less than 1/5th of the amount of time I spent in Digimon world, and despite how flawed that game is, It's a game leagues better on way too many aspects to list.

oh, I always just threw my pokemon at pokemon that were facing away, and it worked. I think they can't move while the throwing animation happens, so they wouldn't turn around and ruin it.

I just avoided round or small mons for it, the 30K+ BP grind is exhausting

is it not like PLA where you have to complete the entire dex?
I don't think that's the case, a lot of the staple TMs like EQ and the like are locked pretty far into the pokedex completion. Maybe they're just spamming level up moves or something

For everyone here who have/are playing legends ZA, I have a question. Is it true that most buildings aren't able to be entered? Because if that's true, then Lumiose City in Legends ZA is worse than Lumiose in fucking XY.

Is it true that most buildings aren't able to be entered?
I don't know what the actual percentages work out to be, but I haven't noticed, if that's worth anything. People complained a lot about that with SV, but I always found myself gravitating to the non-city areas anyhow

ZA sounds like it has perfected the design of:
1) Deliver a sub-par product fast
2)Let the consumer pay full price to be a QA tester
3)On subsequent updates or next product fix those whose voices were loudest.
Peak Pavlov conditioning. Make the customer salivate at the idea that their input lead to the product improving. Ignoring that the product was made poorly to start in order to leave low hanging fruit for the lemmings to jump at before falling off the cliff. Like being happy a new car has a heated steering wheel while ignoring how it lacks ABS.
The Pokemon Company has embodied this design principle.

Only a couple buildings have an interior, everything else like shops are menus, the pokecenter is just a corner with no walls and also serves as the pokemart.

The names for the natures in the different languages are probably different enough that they would either have to be renamed. Any weeaboos here who can translate what the Japanese natures mean and if the English names are accurate?

You could probably cheat on a lot of animations too, you would only need like three animations for Bronzor. The only thing you could animate is it's eyelids and how it sways lol.

Well first off, "Nature" is せいかく which literally translates to Personality. And a lot of the Nature names are different, or could have been translated with a different word to focus on a different connotation, since a lot of them use Japanese words that we don't don't necessarily have a succinct equivalent to in English.

EXP increase, money increase, mega shard increase, more hit before getting knocked out (some of the mega fights have a lot of shit going out) and catch rate increase. Cost 16 screws to max any out (3, 5 and 8) but you get the first stage of the EXP one almost immediately. No idea what the actual increase rates are.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=uQylP2tX9pYIs it as bad as he describes it or he's exaggerating?
Not going to watch this video, but the base game is 70 dollars and the DLC, which is the post game, is 30 dollars. This isn't even a main line pokemon game because there's no breeding and it has the PLA "action" style battling, and pokemon don't have their abilities active, so yes it's very overpriced for no new pokemon and a bunch of very ugly new megas.
