So it's not like kalos mons are super over-represented either.
In some cases the Kalos mons got shafted in favor of the excessive Gen 1 pandering. Your first encounter will always be a Pidgey, Fletchling could have easily been used instead. Instead of highlighting the Kalos starters by giving them a mega, they get nothing and the megas go to the Kanto starters you get soon after starting the game.

I honestly think XY actually has too many Pokemon in its regional dex. The game spams you with almost a dozen new Pokemon in every single route or cave, it gets overwhelming. There's a lot of repeat archetypes like the aforementioned early-game Normal-types, except they're not all available early game, there's a lot of Pokemon you'll find in the second half that belong in the early-game and you'd never consider adding them to your team as late as you find them in XY. And because there's so many new Pokemon in every area even up through Victory Road, you end up with like 100 Pokemon that are available too late to really be viable as in-game team members.

And tangent, despite all the diversity across the game they still stuck all the Ice-types in one spot just before the 7th Gym. And y'know, it's really silly how you go through the whole ice and snow area consisting of a town, cave, and snowy route, empty out to cold-but-not-snowy city, go through a grassy mountain route and town, then a swamp route, and then suddenly another snow-covered city out of no where that has an Ice Gym, except there's no more snowy routes with more Ice-types, this snowy city is adjacent to a swamp, temperate forest, and flower field.

It kind of feels like with Kalos they were going for having the areas be sort of thematically seasonal, like you go through Spring (grassy and flowery areas) > Summer (beaches and a desert) > Autumn (swampy areas with yellow & orange trees) > Winter (snowy areas), but then fucked it up at the end.

plus side to pokemon being a dumpster fire...digimon just had their best IP game release while also having 'next order' as a 'oh that nostalia type game' reference. If Digimon can come out with an action game based on their brand alongside a solid creature collector Pokemon will feel the heat.

Meganium being a rainbow colored dragon dildo is something else, they do want to attract the gays who like that piece of shit.

Why the fuck would you make feraligator headpiece red?

UNRELATED EDIT TO PREVENT DOUBLE-POSTING: Holy fuck the people who enjoy this game are going to be so insufferable.

I love how they have to do this, none of the other shit people want (difficultly levels, triple battles, end game content, other old mechanics) will be added and they will just keep lowering the bar.
BUT THIS SHIT, being able to dress your self like a faggot, That they need to add in.

I think it's perfectly reasonable for the literal biggest and most profitable IP in human history to have the entire kalos dex upon returning to kalos 12 years later, especially in a game entirely focused on battling, let alone have a larger dex than a gameboy game from 26 years ago.
The cope that it's just impossible to make a game with ~1000 unique modeled creatures just seems so stupid. I refuse to believe there's any reason other than cost saving and shitty higher ups.
Also, there are a lot of browns and men can wear skirts.
Hey, they're just updating it to reflect modern Paris.

I feel like they missed a pretty easy lay up with Z-A on one thing in particular - Kalos was the last time we got a new Eeveeloution, would’ve been fitting to have a new one debut here. Granted that looks to be the least of Pokémon’s problems…

Least Digimon just put out a fun game, even if that’s mostly the ‘tism speaking.

In fairness, the entire original concept for megas was to give old mons that have fallen by the wayside due to power creep another shot. That's why the only gen 5 one is Audino, and the vast bulk were gens 1-3.

It barely registered to me that a new Pokemon game is coming out. Sure enough, it is, and it is every bit as lame and stripped back as I thought it would be.
I simply don't care about the new releases in this franchise anymore, it is the best feeling in the world. I hope this piece of shit is fucking rancid, I know most of you will buy it anyways. Seeing dents who bought it complain and seeing the downfall of Gamefreak is the only enjoyable thing to look forward to anymore, and I am ready to be entertained. No different than laughing at the new COD game to see what they broke this time and to see the new cope from it's defenders.

The inclusion of Diancie, Volcanion, and Hoopa is going to drive up sales among hardcore fans who might've checked out.
If they're available in-game (as opposed to just from timed event distributions), then even more so.
I wasn't planning on getting ZA, ever, but now... well, I'm considering it, at least.
Since items can't be brought into Home, I'm guessing the only real sell for mainline players is the chance to catch the Kalos mythicals in "rare" balls (or the non-standard shop balls)… unless they aren't shiny locked, but I doubt that would happen.
  • Auto-save is now PERMANENT and, if players’ secondhand accounts are anything to go by, HAPPEN AFTER EVERY SINGLE CATCH
This is straight up retarded unless they really are going to get rid of IVs. I mean yeah it's retarded regardless but not being able to catch a 0 attack/speed IV legendary is insane.

Since Mythicals in the Switch games have mostly been shiny locked, with Arceus/Shaymin/Darkrai in BDSP being rare exceptions, and the open world Legendaries in S/V were also shiny locked, expect them to also be Shiny locked in Z-A.

They've already been shiny locking basically everything so they can gate it behind a FOMO event, this isn't very surprising. The response will be "just get bottle caps" from nintendo's nutgobblers.

That's a interesting point that I never thought of. Gen 5 after all was a gen that brought in a lot of power creep into competitive and thus the vast majority of unova mons didn't need a buff.
It's easier to enjoy it if you just ignore the vidya after a certain point (like after 6 for me).
I straight up never bought any pokemon games post USUM.

In some aspects it's somehow worse than games like XY, SwSh and SV (not even a 2 hour story quest or looker mission).

Ill definitely still play it eventually, but on emulator rather than shilling out 80 USD + a 40 USD dlc for a at best, painfully average game.
