I just updated my original post, right now it appears that serious confusion on who's responsible for the 50 code limit at GameStop. GameStop says that it's TPCi's fault whilst others are saying that it's on their end due to other retailers using the print-to-receipt method not having a limit.

Oh, and apparently people are having luck DMing GameStop’s Twitter account for a code but YMMV when it comes to success.

I have no idea if this is real, a irl friend sent it to me and he got it from "some nigga on twitter."
I have a feeling it’s AI-generated.

Finished all Kanto Gym leaders and went back to the second E4 fights.

Somehow it was easier than before, instead of Lance Using two dragonites he went with a Salamance who got oneshoted by Meganium of all all these fellas.

After the second pass there is only red left, but I always hated this part of the game tbh

Went there and beat the fucker.

So if you want to play a vanilla+ with improved level curves of the Crystal and modern QoL, you can go with this romhack Heart & Soul.

I still didn't finish Orange Islands yet, but this was quite ok game to clarify that I don't give a shit about Johto region at all.

It's crazy how little hype there is for the new game. Personally I wouldn't really even want it but I have an expiring gift card I need to use.
I preordered it like the absolute sucker I am, but tbh the flags are blood red at this point. I'm just hoping the combat mechanics don't suck.

Well, duh, but there was something literally missing, some plot point. You'd think they would just do a 1-to-1 remake, but it wasn't.
I know not everything can be the same as it was when we were kids, but even just adding in the old music helps elevate it:

I'm excited, but I don't talk about it a lot because of all the negativity. Like, they're bringing in fossil reviving, and that'll be neat. I can't wait to see which fossils are in (I'm praying for Dracovish), and I'm fine with turning in items for them over hunting for the pokemon, via time bubble, like Legends Arceus.

Yeah, it's in 3D.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=D0zYJ1RQ-fsThe art style is kinda cute, and it makes everything almost look like a diorama... But there's just something missing.
Wow! I forget this even existed. I'll say this the Pokemon themselves look great but the human characters look weird. Like Netflix hired someone from DeviantArt who created Pokemon themed dolls as the animator.

The last time I remember the community being truly hyped about a pokemon game was when Sword and Shield first got announced. This wasn't without merit, pokemon games usually move platforms super late compared to other nintendo games, but this time, gamefreak capitalized on the switch and it's higher specs. People naturally were super excited about what a proper switch pokemon game could be like (let's go was more of a test game). This was before dexit and all the cracks about the game got leaked, same pokemon models and animations as XY back on the 3DS in 2013, forced exp share, etc.

Also it's insane that switch pokemon single-handedly gave the switch the reputation of a "weak console" despite the platform being pretty strong for a nintendo console.

Besides SwSh, the last pokemon game I was personally super hyped for was Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon on the 3DS. Despite being my last choice for a final 3DS game (I would've Preferred pokemon Z, a alola sequal kinda like B2W2, Sinnoh remakes on 3DS, a SM port to the switch, or unironcially even another Kanto game), I was still willing to give it a chance. I thought "maybe they could lean into the alternative world theme and like have gyms in alola or new regional forms" or something like that. When USUM released I actually enjoyed it at the time, greater difficulty and increased regional dex was pretty good. Looking back in it however, the main problem was that the ultra games weren't different enough to base sm, like if you put on the base sm clothes in the ultra games, you wouldn't be able to tell which is which. I'm pretty sure even teenager me understood that deep down, they were awfully similar, but I enjoyed gen 7 so I probably didn't think too much about it until a few years later.

Pokémon sent to Pokémon Legends: Z-A will no longer be able to be used in prior Pokémon games. Pokémon from Legends Z-A will also not be able to be deposited in other current Pokémon games
Bro i had no idea, holy shit why do people keep letting game freak get away with less than the bare minimum.

bruh is that actually true? I thought the whole reason for pokemon home was to allow players to more easily transfer pokemon between games (if they're coded in said games) and have a accessible place to store them

I patched my copy of FireRed to add "GB Sounds" (as part of a set called Pokemon Throwback) but I can't make it show up in anything other than a new game, and the only contact is a dead Discord link.

This cheeses me off so much. Has anyone had experience with this mod? Do I just need a start a new game and somehow save-edit my way all the way into Lavender Town?

When FR/LG hacks add new items they usually use the IDs of items from the Hoenn games since they're not usable in the Kanto games. If you use a save editor you should be able to add something like an Acro Bike to your key items and it'll appear as the GB SOUNDS.

If you DM me your .sav I can add it in for you probably.

Other than restricting the Kalos starters megastones. What're the red flags? I haven't been keeping up with the ZA news.
1. The first ranked season beginning from the day of release despite the system itself not being given much explanation at this point
2. How it will perform on the original switch (and whether there will be lagging when switch players are pitted against switch 2 players)
3. The prospect of having to go on another easter egg hunt for tiny bits of a Pokemon (which, given the "box legendary" status of Zygarde this time would make it mandatory)
4. Backwards compatibility between Gens 8-9 and this game being partially scrapped for unclear reasons
5. Announcing paid DLC before launch

idk about you guys but aside from the Gen 6 starter mega stones, those would be points I'm concerned about for this game.
Maybe there's some new gimmick in ZA, like it was when the whole EV thing happened.
It still doesn't make much sense as Pokemon retain all their info just fine in between most of the current Switch games. My tinfoil hat theory is that they don't want players using resources from current games to retrain their Pokemon for Champions, so they made it a one-way route.
