Emboar, Scolipede, Excadrill, Chandelure, Electross, and Scrafty are all getting megas in Z-A, so there's that. Also, Mega Scrafty literally looks like Gear 5 LOL. Went from being in a gang to a klan.

Notably, no Sinnoh Pokémon got any new forms or evolutions aside from Dialga and Palkia. It's the forms I'm talking about here.
Hisuian Typhlosian got outed as a pedophile and now the entire Cyndiquil line is effectively being replaced with Tepig

Kind of fitting, considering that in the SpaceWorld beta Cyndaquill was just another pokemon(Ground type I believe) but later, for whatever reason, they replaced the fire type starter(bomb seal, I believe) in the final game. They didn't even change his stats from Charizard so it was a late game addition.

That said, I do doubt they will give us a Typhlosion line in any capacity for a long, long time. He might just be persona-non-grata from now on like Porygon line is to anime.

At least Mega Emboar sounds kind of cool with its wukong esque staff. I never really got the hate for the thing other than it being the third fire/fighting type starter in a row.

Unova had 11 regional forms? Including Darmanitan's two forms I think that's 10 right?

Could the two Shellos and Gastrodon forms retroactively be considered regional forms? Just both in the same region?
Yes, I counted both Darmanitan forms separately. It's probably white stripe Basculin, I counted it as a regional form instead of a regular alternate form because it's the only one that can evolve into Basculegion, and only regionals tend to lock an evolution behind a specific form.

Yeah, Shellos and Gastrodon could be regionals before it was cool, like how Nidoran did gender differences before they became a mechanic.

At some point in the last two months, this guy wiped his account save for two replies, both of which relate to stuff that came out months ago. Lol lmao, either he got caught or he was bullshitting and is trying to sweep it under the rug. My dumb ass didn't think to archive either way, so I guess that's that.

Seems like this is a regular occurrence for him, which makes sense, so this might not be anything huge. Felt like it was worth mentioning, though, especially as we wait for Worlds on the 15th. Kind of interesting that he'd wipe his account so close to an event that's going to have a live demo for the game available.

Nothing definitive, of course, but he was the first to claim that the amount of megas for Z-A was equal to the number of letters in the alphabet ("or maybe more") and half-agreed with a lot of posts circulating the currently infamous list around. He claimed that some stuff had already leaked and was in circulation, but of course didn't say anything too solid.

If anyone's got screenshots or archives of his tweets from February-May 2025, I'd appreciate them being posted here for posterity's sake. I'm kicking myself pretty hard for not grabbing any for myself.

It's a bulky (i.e. more HP) flare blitz abuser with piss-poor speed. Infernape (at the time) did everything it did better, even with Emboar's boost to recoils with reckless. Not to mention Infernape had Close Combat, which everyone did (and still do) abuse. Emboar didn't get that until Gen9. It had to rely on things like Superpower or Hammer Arm for it's second stab

Supposedly, we are getting an additional several megas through free DLC (Like Mega Zeroara), which will bring the total up to 32.

This sounds ridiculously stupid, is it another Khu rumor? There's less than zero reason for this to happen, Z-A's going to release less than half a year before Gen 10 steals the spotlight so giving it more DLC would just detract from shilling the new generation.

That, and it seems to be getting shafted even harder than Arceus, somehow, in the marketing department. Highly doubt they're going to keep it around for long.

Same leakers who correctly got Mega Dragonite, Professor Mabel, and the other things correct, so its your word against their's @Anonitolia

Chinese dragon, like mizutsune from Monster Hunter

Proper dragon, to keep with my monster hunter examples, like Velkhana

and whatever kind of dragon this is

I want all dragon starters.
I think it would be cool.
Finally, my autism gets to shine:

Mizutsune isn't based upon your standard chinese dragon in mythology and design. It's actually based upon the kitsune if you couldn't tell. I feel like Mizutsune would be an interesting choice for a water-type starter, although you would probably start with something like Royal Ludroth instead as Mizutsune is usually relegated to high rank. Also, that's Violet Mizutsune which is a rare species, not the original (and it also uses fireblight instead of waterblight). A water-themed kitsune starter would be a fun pick, although Ninetales already exists to fill that niche. If you want a good example of a "chinese dragon" monster in the series, you could've used Amatsu or if you go to Frontier, Shantien.

Velkhana is an Elder Dragon who appears as the penultimate monster to Iceborne's main story, though I do understand the sentiment behind wanting a "proper dragon" as a starter, the last one we got was Charizard and he's Fire/Flying.

Rathian (and by extension, Rathalos) is NOT a dragon, instead a flying wyvern. Flying Wyverns and (elder) dragons are technically separate but loosely connected through similiarities. Rathian/Rathalos is a pretty obvious pick for what could be our fire-type, and I don't think we really have any flying wyvern-esque Pokemon in the series.

The idea behind a starter trio all with the dragon sub-type could make for an interesting dynamic that we haven't seen in the series before: They could all equally wipe each other out, it depends on stat differences and balancing.

We have Noivern, does it count? I don't know much about Monster Hunter.

Alright so there are some updates regarding Worlds. It’s a bit of a read so I’ll put it into spoilers:
They just pushed a new app that helps spectators and attendees keep track of various activities at the event. I’m seeing a bunch TCG on Friday (15 total including the actual championship), Saturday (19 total), and on Sunday (12 total). The Switch games have a surprisingly small amount of side event around twelve on Friday and Saturday whilst Sunday only has eight.

Despite not being an “open” day for attendees Thursday has two events lined up: the Pokémon Play Lab (an event that’s designed to teach new players and kids how to play the TCG and video games in a competitive manner) and Pin Trading.

Merchants and “Partners” will have an official presence at Worlds this year on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I can’t speak for recent years but back in 2013 TPCi kind of frowned at the idea of your average joe selling shit at their tournaments (mostly due to it being pretty much unmonitored) and the appearance of licensed vendors was a rarity. Seeing this pop up now gives me mixed feelings but hopefully TPCi acts like an Eye of Sauron here and forces them to behave.

Other non-competitive events include:

- Artist spotlights
It’s mostly from TCG artists but one is dedicated to the art found in GO

- Autograph signings
These are mostly TCG artists and GO artists again but I did see a few e-celebs (Leonhart and Jordan Fringe are in one while Jaiden Animations and Jacob Alpharad are in another). Ishihara also has an autograph session.

- Bear Walker carving demos
If you don’t know what those are they’re carved skateboard decks.

- Pikachu & Friends meet-and-greets
If you’ve been to a Disney theme park its that same shit as their character meet-and-greets, it’s not really worth mentioning but you know the Kiwi mantra.

- Collect and Trade areas
Dedicated trading areas aren’t exactly new to events like Worlds but I was shocked to see TPCi mentioning the trade of more than just TCG singles. For Worlds’ Collect and Trade areas they’re allowing folks to trade official items like plushies, play mats, sleeves and other swag.

- Cosplay Showcase
Yep, they’re doing one this year after the success of the EUIC’s Cosplay Showcase. And yes, there’s a little blurb about how cosplay is for “everyone”

- Creators
These are basically meet-and-greets involving e-celebs. Yecch.

- Fan Experience Zones
These are basically arts and crafts activities for kids. That said there is one involving Bandai’s line of Pokémon model kits.

There are technically more but I’d just be regurgitating info here.
Oh, and Pokémon Legends: Z-A will have a playable demo at Worlds for attendees. Attendees will need to use Nintendo’s Warp Pipe Pass system to play it (I’m getting conflicting messages on it being recommended and it being required so I’m erring on the safe side here).

Yeah, it's mizu (water) and kitsune (kitsune). I went for it over amatsu because I like the sleeker look. Bro, I play monhun...
Also, that's Violet Mizutsune which is a rare species, not the original
It was the best species with the clearest picture........ I was inspired by looking at this (currently have silver rath), and violet, apex, and soulseer were the options.
