You came into a thread where multiple posters were talking about how much they loved Gen V and claimed that the games objectively appealed to no one. You should probably just move on anyways, it should be clear to you more than anyone that you're wasting your time here trying your best to insult the games.
My argument is more that it was a bad attempt at trying to court Gen 1 fans and give new players a similar experience.
And I'm saying that arguing they were trying to court Genwunners with BW while giving an entirely different generation a similar experience is the product of schizophrenia.
My issue is the stated design was to mimic gen 1. It makes most of them uninspired. Some of them are okay if they were in a generation that didn’t feel like a lesser quality gen 1. I can go into this more later on.

Yet they keep going for that audience with Kanto because Kanto is the only generation people give a fuck about. The audiences they want don't even give two shits about Pokemon let alone anything out of what? Gen 4? I don't know anyone who cares about Galar and Paldean Pokemon despite TPC is trying so hard to push them.

Gen V was meant to be a reboot because Pokemon was hoping to court a brand new generation of kids. Gen 1 fans were never the target audience.
So according to your logic we can only have one Pokemon for each animal species? Or apparently not even that because you can't tell the difference between a zebra and a unicorn.

Your original argument was that Gen V, the generation known for alienating old fans of the series because it included an entirely new roster of Pokemon and was intended to be a soft reboot in the hopes of snagging the next generation of children, was "nostalgia bait".
My argument was that it was derivative because it wanted to try to give a new generation of kids the Gen 1 experience and also give Gen 1 fans nostalgia. It failed on both fronts. Gen V designs in general are lame. My oldest niece commented on this when I gave her all the old games (she likes Heart Gold the most).
