Sometimes I’ll find lists from the Japanese part of twitter and I’ll find decks like this. The whole strategy is to either get a knockout with 8 damage counters or to use brute bonnet and then dastardly jab so that they’ll be down to 10 hp and KO’d due to poison checks. It’s complete ass and a glass cannon, but also hilarious because your prize mapping is just take the 1 prizes out and ignore the 2 prizes.

I always find lists like these interesting in practice but they only do well in Japan due to the Japanese tournaments are structured (IIRC they’re Best of One rather than Best of Three like international tournaments are).

Oh, and a poison donk deck with Roaring Moon ex support won SPE Bologna (the link features one that got 9th at a previous SPE but since it’s from the same player I’m not expecting any big changes to the list).

Poison donk is a fun archetype in a format where everything is 2 prize dependent. That list was pretty neat and I’m glad to see something other than the same handful of decks win a regionals.

Z-A release date pretty much confirmed for October 16th 2025. My expectations are underground but it could be good. I will not buy it at release, though. I did that with Violet and have not even completed it, and I doubt I will.
violet’s post game content left so much to be desired and you can’t even battle the elite 4 again.

So I finally beat the Elite 4 for the first time in Pokémon Unbound, nota gonna lie, I love this team, not only because they helped me in the harder fights in the game but without any idea, it was a quite balanced team against the elite 4 (Ghost, Ground, Fairy and Dragon) and somewhat could also beat the more balanced Champion.

The goat was of course Mega Garchomp, but holy shit Vikavolt decided the champion with two crits that made the fight way easier.

And I searched for the mega Sharpedo dstone and could never find it.

So after beating it, I go back home and found out that they stole my mother lol.

Lets see what the postgame has go offer.

>NEYEdoking
He alternates between Nidoking and Neyedoking which is somehow even more distracting.
Someone adjusted 3D Pokémon animations, aturation, and even shiny palettes.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=9Xx9XwAC5zshttps://youtube.com/watch?v=qF8d7uUw7ZQHis YouTube shorts have plenty of these 'glow ups', one per Pokémon.
He's got the right idea, but some of these scream "hire this man".

Yeah, good thing he put that note there because the execution is worse than GF's. The Gyarados one is fine, but the others mostly just flail around for the sake of adding movement. All you really need for most old Pokemon is to reuse the animations from Colosseum and Battle Revolution.

Also, we've heard of bad animations, we've heard of desaturated colors, but know what else gen 6 made worse?
(Warning: loud)

The gen 5 cries.
Maybe it's because I'm nostalgic for Unova, but gen 5 Pokemon cries were absolutely butchered in gen 6. Other gens are mostly fine, there's a couple of really bad ones (Raichu was robbed *sigh*), but for the most part they're higher quality or at least understandable changes to make the Pokemon sound more organic*, but almost all gen 5 cries were made worse. Reshiram was really screwed over, it went from a divine alien dragon to a dog.

*Except for the dragons. Most dragon types and dragonlike Pokemon, like Charizard, Salamence, Groudon, Haxorus or Zekrom had monster sounds added on top of their cries and they sound godawful.

I was fucking pissed when I heard Haxorus' cry in X/Y. BW/B2W2 had that blade-swipe sound that related to the axe horns on it's face and not only did they completely get rid of it, but they made him sound WAY too lower pitched and like he's got phlegm stuck in his throat due to a bad cold.

The cries are one of the most basterdized thing about new pokemon. Even new-gen pokemon sound lame and the "evolved" past gen pokemon is just lazy as fuck
  • "Hey, we're giving dunsparce an evolution, what should it's cry be?"
  • "Oh just pitch it down a notch and just loop the middle part a couple of time where it sound like it's glitching out. No I don't care that it sounds like shit, it's my lunch break!"

Pokémon SV confirmed to run at 60 fps now on switch 2.

So that’s neat.

Some of the gen 9 mons straight up use stock sounds in their cries. Crocalor, Wattrel and Kilowattrel use the same stock sounds as some Spore mouth parts.

Crocalor:

Spore's tapir/horse mouths:

Kilowattrel:

Spore's fish mouths:

The gaymers who lower the texture resolution to 144p to run games at a quadrillion FPS will be very pleased.

Oh my god someone else finally fucking noticed this.

It baffles me how nobody has mentioned it, not once, before you. All the fucking dogs they introduced have these extremely generic barks as well. I can barely remember any cries past gen 5 and I only stopped playing around the middle of gen 7. Something really fucked up the way cries were designed in between gens 6 and 7, because I can still remember at least a few gen 6 cries, but I couldn't recall a single one past 7 if you put a gun to my head. I think the only exception might be Espathra, and that's just because it's so contrary to the design that it genuinely made me think the fabric ostrich was supposed to be a girly robot made out of chrome.

Pokémon Gamma Emerald (currently at 3.1.0) is contagious.

Then again, th is not new. Someone was making an Octopath Traveler-inspired remake of Pokémon Platinum.

im alive and i have return from the distortion world. i added a few cool things (check desc). i haven't really been working on the project that much but i got this done in a month, didn't really have time on this project because i was and still tryingto survive college. and im also making an unrelated original game.

as for the unrelated game that im working on. it's a 1-bit stylized action platfomer something closer to like the megaman zero game, i know some of you will just ignore this project and i don't blame you for that since i know a lot of the people that subscribe came for the pokemon octopath. but i'll be uploading some gameplay of my other project into this channel too. and i hope that you can support me there to.

but don't worry im still going to focus on pokemon octopath, i have a target right now and that is making the game until the first gym before next year. well that's all i wanted to say for now. see you guys in 100 years ;))))

I think there's more romhacking tools now. Should I attempt to make an Emerald hack?
If you want to do anything more than basic edits, I'd recommend using the Emerald decomp. Getting it set up can be a hurdle, but it's way easier in the longrun when making changes because you're working with the game's code directly and don't need to fuck around with a hundred tools.
