Please tell me it's parody
I can't even tell if this is sincere or not. You can never tell, someone tried shilling a romhack on /vp/ almost a decade ago that genuinely tried to just pass off gay marriage and a trooned out youngster as something normal(Phoenix Rising romhack) and the jannies had to clean up posts bullying them
There's still no Trick Room setting ability while every weather condition and terrain has it and I don't think there ever will be one without breaking VGC.They did make the Room Service item in gen 8 that lowers your speed when Trick Room is in play, but besides that i don't think they've made any sort of support for trick room other than making slow mons with insane stats
Would you play as a Pakistani trainer if you got to destroy India?
I nitially though that was Pokémon Pisces, bu the gender select screen is different.
And people wonder why Gamefreak can get away with making barely playable tech demos for years now when this is the kind of fanbase it fostersFrom what I see, that is completely sincere
Abilities activate as soon as a Pokémon switches in. Trick Room has the lowest priority possible (-7).There's still no Trick Room setting ability while every weather condition and terrain has it

Trick room setting ability would defeat the whole purpose, it would erease the only limitation it has (having the mon be always last and be vulnerable to everything before they can set it). There's still no Trick Room setting ability while every weather condition and terrain has it and I don't think there ever will be one without breaking VGC.

If you could activate Trick Room so early in a turn, before anyone attacked, that would let you avoid the priority issue—but since Game Freak set that priority in the first place, I think that they really want the fact that you have to move last to remain as a part of anything that sets up the effect.
Also, activating Trick Room with an ability would throw off the turn order for every other Pokémon after the players had already locked in their moves, which I could see Game Freak wanting to avoid.
If we ever do get some other way to set Trick Room (aside from just using the move), I don't think it'll be through an ability.
Now watch me end up being completely wrong as soon as Gen 10 comes out, and like half a dozen Pokémon get that ability.
I think it's more likely that we would see abilities that are similar to the effect of Trick Room, but not the exact same.
Like an ability on a somewhat-slow Pokémon (but not so slow that it's guaranteed to activate) that lets it move first if it has the slowest speed of all of the Pokémon in the battle.
Or an ability like Friend Guard that gives the inverse-speed Trick Room benefit just to your ally in double battles.
They could have added a Trick Room or Tailwind extender but they intentionally don't because of what such a thing would do to VGC. 3 extra turns in doubles is massive.Trick room setting ability would defeat the whole purpose, it would erease the only limitation it has (having the mon be always last and be vulnerable to everything before they can set it).
I was thinking more on the lines of chlorophyll or swift swim abilities that play nice with Trick Room or signature moves that utilize it, as it is Trick room is pretty neglected in that regard. Then again its probably so strong by its own that designing anything to help it is just a balancing nightmare
Should I make it my KF avatar?Crooked Cop Derek <3
Been away from the thread for a while, and while I normally don't like butting my head into arguments I don't have a horse in, I fundamentally disagree with this diagnosis in relation to Pokemon. Pokemon hasn't declined as a series because it's been made easier, it's because Gamefreak keeps stripping out features and replacing them with stupid gimmicks that appeal mainly to sweatlords. You can say that's casualization, sure, but we all know that colloquially calling someone casual is an accusation they're not playing the game the 100% objectively correct minmaxxing way, which is an absurd proposition for a largely single-player experience that even at its most flexible was still largely on rails. At the same time I am going to shit on every single drooling retard that wants video games to be even easier and more casual,
competitive pokemon has the same issue competitive fighting games do.... play enough people enough times and eventually battles will start to blend in with one another to where you can predict way ahead of time how the battle is going to go before you even play it.having to choose from the same minmaxxed templates that everyone else is using in official tournaments
There is absolutely a difficulty difference between Gen6+ games and the ones that came before that. Pokemon games have never had the most difficulty single player, but it peaked around Gen 3/4, there is a reason why Twitch Does Pokemon had a roadblock in Emerald since you can't just button mash your way out of that game. Gens 3 and 4 require at least base amounts of knowledge of gameplay mechanics and rules, which should be the bare minimal, Gen 5 was also alright but the modern rot to make the games idiot proof started there, for example 3 Pokemon max for every gym leader, healer on every other route ect.As a kid, I didn't feel there was a significant gap in difficulty between Gen 3, Gen 4, Gen 5 or Gen 6
This was also my experience as an elementary schooler playing through Sapphire the first time where I only leveled my Torchic after BrawleyMy only playthru of XY didn't have any coordination with my team, I barely paid attention to what gym leaders or major bosses were coming up and still got thru the game without any problems.
That doesn't mean that Sapphire is easier than a Gen 6 game, it simply means you got lucky by overleveling one Pokemon(which is a valid strategy if you feel like trying it out). Gens 3-5 tried to give you a fair, but challenging experience, where as later gens simply made the games piss easy for the sake of mass appeal. There is a reason why you generally see people talk about the first 4 gens when they replay games, and it's not just out of nostalgia, there is very little reason to replay a game as void of difficulty and anything interesting about it as later gen games. All the gimmicks and new items/moves only shine in competitive anyways, it's not like you will use them in single player for any reason. This was also my experience as an elementary schooler playing through Sapphire the first time where I only leveled my Torchic after Brawleybecause I was a retarded kid and wanted to be like Ash with Pikachu.
you asking this because you want to try and patch the latest version? whats the main changes between 2.5.9 and this one since i know that one had a white npc patch a year and a bit ago.Does anyone here ha version 2.5.11 of ShockSlayer's Pokémon Crystal Clear? Pokéharbor has only version 2.5.10.
