Stadium still has my favorite Pokemon animations
In the 2D Mystery Dungeon vidya (the GBA and DS ones), the way the Gen 1 and 2 'mons move when doing moves can resemble how they move in the Stadium vidya, like Mew. But in the newer 3D vidyas, it seems the 'mons just stiffly hop up and down or something when they use moves. Like how they don't really move when using moves in newer main vidya.

You got it already, it was called Battle Revolution.
The scope was far too narrow to be considered a proper Stadium entry, probably why they didn't call it that. Even Stadium 1 had more meat on its bones, let alone Stadium 2. Stadium 3 should be packed with content, Revolution also had some bad design decisions as on top of its missing features & content. They're incomparable beyond the core concept of "Pokemon battling in 3D without needing raise them". If it underperformed then they only have themselves to blame for a half-baked title.

Well, Colosseum IS a mainline game in all but name only, same with XD. In fact, both are better than most mainline titles.
I liked them and they were more memorable than anything after gen 3, maybe even better than that too.

I remember seeing animation comparisons between Stadium and modern 3D ones, it was embarrassing for Game Freak. I played one of the GBA Mystery Dungeon a long time ago, I don't remember the animations, I'm gonna replay it again and pay attention. I appreciate details like that more nowadays.

I love Pokemon TCG (GB), but man is it a hassle to progress sometimes. I wish Nintendo had a version with all cards unlocked, some of their NES games have save states like that.
I never had a problem with the first TCG game honestly, the starting deck is fine (at least the Squirtle + Abra one) and it's not that hard to grind for packs as any NPC fight gives you 2 for just beating them. Only thing I would love to see in a remake/third game is to have an in-game list of opponents you fought and the packs they give. I guess a shop to buy specific cards with in-game currency wouldn't be bad either.

And hey, could be worse. TCG 2 is a phenomenal game. But that title has a really awful progress system compared to the first. I could dedicate this post to talk about how unfair the early game is. But instead, I will just say: screw that one Snorlax Stall NPC specifically, screw him twice for making me go back to the first island to get a Pidgey and return to the second island just to fight him again.

What about the Colosseum vidya? That had a whole story.

(Although there weren't minigames or the Hall of Fame.)

Unlike every other feature on YouTube, this one actually works 100% of the time (instead of just working whenever the algorithm feels like it).
It doesn't work for me. Seems like every time I select the "Don't recommend channel" option on fags like these, two more will pop up in my feed.

omeone on the dev team was clearly trolling since it's well known the entire abra line has tissue-thin physical defense. I'd be amazed is this thing survived a physical hit long enough to actually use it.

Imagine the damage it'll do the 1 (one) time you get it to successfully proc

Reminds me of this Reverend video going over the anomalies in Counter in RBY. He counter'd his own Explosion damage.
If I'm understanding this right, the opponent Alakazam went before him, and he exploded right afterward. This counted as the damage to him, from his opponent, and he used counter on that.

lol, lmao even
Still better moveset than that Alakazam has. Also back then a good moveset for Alakazam could be something like Reflect or Thunder Wave, Seismic Toss, Recover, and Psychic.

Speaking of the Abra evolutions, Abra's JP name is ケーシィ ("Kehshi"), after Edgar Cayce, that one guy who claimed to prophecy in a trance or while asleep -- hence why Abra is sleepy. Kadabra is ユンゲラー (Yungerah), named after Uri Geller (ユリ・ゲラー, which ユンゲラー closely resembles), who is that one guy who claimed to be able to bend spoons with telekinetic "psychic powers" (which James Randi famously debunked). Finally, Alakazam is フーディン (Fuudin). F in Japanese sounds more like an H, and so it sounds more like Hoodin for Houdini the famous escape artist. And Houdini, unlike previous 2 guys, undoubtedly had real ability and not claimed ability. BTW Geller didn't like Kadabra.

was talking about Stadium 1 and 2 'mons 🤔

I was talking about the Stadium 1 and 2 mons.
I was comparing the Japanese Stadium movesets for rentals to the Battle Pass rentals. Pokemon Stadium still let Starmie with Recover, Thunderbolt, and Hydro Pump slip through. One of the best movesets you will see for a Battle Pass rental is this:

Monferno
Grass Plate
-Fire Punch
-Mach Punch
-Sunny Day
-Grass Knot

Battle Revolution came 10 years after Stadium with a far better movepool, wider pokemon selection, and the Physical/Special Split and yet it had less Pokemon and worse movesets.

If they made a Stadium 3, maybe they'd make the "rental" mons have totally random moves. Like a Lapras with Substitute, Helping Hand, Haze, and Whirlpool.

>Go to Mt. Ember
>Try and catch Entei
>Level 50
>Knows Roar
>Only Pokemon that knows a sleeping move is a Grass type

My only other alternative, without training up a brand new team member is getting a Soundproof Pokemon and not let it faint. What a pain in the ass.
Does arena trap or shadow tag work? I know they keep pokemon from manually retreating.

I don't think so. I think Ingrain works, if I recall. Just out of curiousity; how do you have Entei and Mt Ember? Are you doing a randomizer or rom hack? Or am I misremembering something.
