Anyone playing Pokemon go? I've had to stop my hunt for the galarian birds after the polar vortex came through. It's a fun experience to say the least. It's just a type of thrill that no other game in the series can provide. Which leads to my conspiracy theory that TPC sabatoges Go since they don't want it becoming the main experience.

Go is sabotaging itself. Everything they've done since they ended the COVID buffs has just been ass. You need an absurd amount of people to do a gigantimax raid, but you can't rely on remote raids anymore, you need irl people. It's stupid.

despite its flaws, i still find it to be a good motivator for me to get off my ass and go outside for a walk every day. I dislike how they seem to really hate their casual playerbase. if you dont pay up and play in a group, it feels like you miss half of the stuff an event offers. for a game that is about going outside and catching pokemon, many pokemon sure are behind either raids, event passes, random rare spawns from lures or inside eggs. like with the current event, why is rookidee inside an egg, when people mainly want it for pvp.
also about pvp, its really funny how they decided to have a pvp event when there is a gamebreaking bug in the game which lets you freeze your opponents game during a pvp match.

Oh, and the full 100-card list from Battle Partners (Japan's version of Journey Together) and its secret rares were revealed a while back. This is the set that brings back Owner's Pokémon to the mix and, if the initial 100-card list is to be believed, retires Tera Pokémon from the game. For those wondering which Trainers are featured in Battle Partners its Iono, Hop, N, and Lillie.
I hate scalpers, because I like buying the empty tins for storage. It's like this, but Pokemon tins.

And lately, the tins have been super expensive because the overall price of cards has gone up, due to scalpers.
Empty tins are best bought in-person or in online bundles on resale sites like eBay, the only downside of the latter is the shipping charges.
My wife wanted to get an empty obsidian flames ETB box to put the bulk she’d pull that was already in her binder but these vantablack niggers are trying to sell them for like $30-$40. We’ve both been contemplating just dropping the hobby and sticking to the vidya because soon mega is coming back in the TCG and that was an ass gameplay mechanic.
I stopped using ETBs for bulk ages ago, now I use cardboard "cheese" boxes that are actually designed for it.

That's the case for me, I usually find myself getting out of the house when there's a nice 1-2 day event and I'm actually contemplating getting a ticket for the in-person Go Tour: Unova event that's happening next month.

I'm fine with GO locking certain Pokemon behind certain gates, whether it's a raid, Dynamax, or even egg. part of me does get the idea of Niantic wanting people to head outside and play the game. I understand that. However on the same coin, what better way for me to engage in the ecosystem of GO, which is location data, foot traffic, and taking AR snapshots? It is when they release a new Pokemon into the wild off-rip. I think the issue here is that Niantic is an AR mapping company first gaming company 2nd. I think they straight up do not understand fully what makes people want to play this game. Again for me, it's not so much of a problem as I really do like raiding and the grind. I am not a casual player. But what sucks is that if people are using this game to make up for their lacking collection it straight up can be miserable.

Another issue, is that you can't be more than casual, if you don't live in a city. I live in a smallish town, and we have to pool together several towns worth of people for one raid day. Used to, we could bring in people with remote raids, but the nerf really hit us hard.

That does suck. I'm lucky to be in a solid situation where I can find a solid location with a grassroots community of Pokemon Go players in my town just a short drive from my place. Not to mention there is a local metro park with gyms and stops to boot. that is actually a place I plan on moving my grind too once the summer gets going here. Like I said I am lucky that I can drive to some places. Some folks I get why the temptation to spoof is there. Of course don't do that.

>what's the TL;DR?
AI bad, Infinite Fusion bad for using AI because "muh artists"

Not even exaggerating
Uh, no? There is more than that.

Additionally, the creators of Infinite Fusions have allegedly refused to remove the custom sprites of hundreds of 'mons in the game even though they originally said they would before upon request, and that it would be easy to do so before abruptly changing that policy, and saying that it would actually be too difficult to do so, and have also refused to let people do it for them.

nobody gives a fuck about your gay tcg and your faggy pokemon go, this is my personal shiny diary now

ANYWAY, i caught a shiny female salandit, i am very happy. for those who have actual lives, salandit is a fire/poison type pokemon with a unique ability called corrosion that allows it to poison pokemon that would normally be immune to it, like steel or poison types. salandit's evolution is called salazzle, but the only way for salandit to evolve is if it's female, and the gender ratio for the species is 88% male and 12% female, so getting a shiny female is pretty nice. also it's got an uncommon mark/title, so that's a thing. a few months ago i attempted a salandit outbreak and caught a shiny male, and my day was ruined and my disappointment was immeasurable

You can't even get people to do shadow raids let alone a 5-star Dynamax. I've tried getting people together through Campfire for Articuno, and nobody wants to do it (I'm near one of the largest groups in my area). The worst thing about the Legendary Dmax and Gmax fights are that it's all fomo bullshit, so if you missed out on something like Gmax Kanto starters, you're not seeing them anytime soon. Here's another kicker: You're not even guaranteed a lot of good farming spots on Maxed Out Mondays. My meetup only had 1 accessible Articuno spot, but it was way too fucking cold to walk around for other spots.

A lot of new Pokemon has been behind some paywall or fomo event like Fidough. Mausehold and Fidough should be roaming around the world with the others. Even though you can use a lure to get a rookiedee, unless you get lucky with Showcase wins you're going to have spend a little cash for lures if you want rookidee. Good luck saving up coins as f2p (getting pokecoins is very slow and tough as f2p, especially if you're unable to hold gyms).

Pvp is beyond fucked because it's full of cheaters even in the lowest Great League ranks (I ran into 3 from one set). They never fixed the other cheating methods (spamming charge moves instantly, seeing your opponent's team and having immediate counters, etc.). They've been trying to force players to do more pvp because nobody wants to put up with the broken bullshit and cheaters.

Go pvp is only fun when you have a team that is somewhat competent. I've been somewhat thriving with a Melmetal Dragonite and Shadow ho oh team in the master league..

But here's the issue I have. For you to have a great team in Pvp, you have to go out of your way to find pokemon with IVS that are pvp compliant. Which for those who don't want to bother with searching is. 0 attack, 15 defense, 15 HP. Why short of it is, bulk is good. Which means that on top of using your stardust for pokemon that you use in raids and gyms you're also investing in Pokemon that mostly have very little use outside of you guessed it pvp.

Not to mention again the candies for these things runs out quickly. I'm happy to have saved up 300 rare candy. I'm not spending Jack shit of it on pvp.
What fucking sucks is that I'm level 38 so the 40's are coming pretty soon. That means I'm gonna have to get a somewhat decent team going relatively soon if I want to sniff getting to level 50.

Honestly, the PvP wins requirement was one of the easiest ones. There are a ton of people, myself included, who AFK 3 matches a day to get the 3 free hearts for our buddy. There's even more of those AFKers when there is an event going on that requires PvP matches played. Now the level up challenge that i'm stuck on is the 50 Rocket leader wins. That takes forever if you're like me and only rely on the guaranteed Rocket balloon spawns that happen every 3 hours or so.

The Rookidee release i just find baffling. Its an early route bird, yet it comes from stationary lures and eggs? It absolutely should have been a wild spawn.
Speaking of Rookidee and lures, its Ralts community day. Which means 3 hour lures. So leave a magnetic lure on a pokestop next to you before the event ends so it still runs the full 3 hours. Might end up getting a few Rookidees.
The event already ended here. I don't know if they forgot to turn on the increased shiny odds or if that was ever gonna be a part of this community day, but i only ended up getting 3 shiny Ralts. Maybe i just got unlucky. Got a 14/15/15 Gardevoir, which is more than good enough for me. I already had a perfect 4-star Gallade, so i was only really after a good Gardevoir. The shinies were just a bonus.

If the weather was nicer, I would have used a lure for Rookidee (I'm not farming in below 30/-1 degree weather). Most of my time was spent soloing this fucking asshole after seeing some people solo it.

This wasn't easy even with a mushroom and level 40 Pokemon. He went into his rage mode and almost killed my Toxtricity. You need two Laps to tank the attacks, and you need Articuno to have triple axel and icy wind (Excadril can tank ancient power, but don't even bother with blizzard. It will rape you). What also helps is to fight it in a power spot where people dumped their Pokemon to boost your damage, but if you live in rural areas good fucking luck finding spots with players (I didn't find a single spot with people who already beat Articuno). The stupid asshole took me 10 tries because the first few attempts had it spam Blizzard right when it started. Oh yea, the catch rates still suck ass because you have a very small catch circle, so I hope you don't mind paying 200 pokecoins for some kind of shot at it. I didn't get the best IVs, but it has a high attack for a glass cannon. I'm not complaining.

Would I solo Articuno or a 5* again? No. It's an aggravating fight, and Articuno isn't worth the stress unless I can find a power spot with other people's Pokemon. Plus, the rewards still suck (10 legendary Pokemon candy? Seriously?) and Dmax content is just too demanding (Articuno costs as much energy as a Gmax fight. It shouldn't be that expensive). Maybe this would have sucked less ass if people actually did Max content and left their Pokemon in the spots, but it's too much for people who aren't whales or OG players with 10 million stardust.

Since we're talking about the Rookidee event....You're a faggot if you didn't pick Sierra and Chad Cliff (that said, fuck Arlo). Only faggots pick Blanche.

I caught a fucking shiny male combee and I have never really recovered emotionally.
