Don't enter the credits room at the start because one of the Pokémon on the floor/devs complain about capitalism.
No thanks, I don't need a glorified Battle Tower clone from some whiny leftie when literally every game in Gen 3 and onwards(until Gen 9) has one integrated in the main game.

I watched the Verlisify video and I'm just wondering what's the autism with "illegal" tourney legal mons, like who gives a shit when it's only a matter of time and luck to grind those pokemon rather than skill.

For a game that is all about collecting, breeding and raising the perfect Pokemon, downright obvious cheating in the biggest official competition of the year kind of makes the ethos of Pokemon at large a joke. This also leads down a slippery slope: If Nintendo doesn't care that people cheat in official competitions, why bother having them? What will they overlook next? It's an embarrassment for everyone involved.

Normally, I would agree with you as far as genning Pokemon goes: Who cares as long as you're playing by yourself? However, when you are a "professional" Pokemon competitive player? Yes I expect you to do the work if you want to play at the highest echelon. If you can't even be bothered to raise a perfect Pokemon the way the game expects you to(especially in newer games where it is piss easy compared to earlier entries) then you're not as "professional" as you think and should fuck right off back to Showdown or Smogon and play with the little kids there with your genned teams. The standards aren't high here, but it shows you just how utterly worthless these competitive players are if they can't even bother to raise the Pokemon they're expected to use.

Other than that, the actual cheating was so blatant I am surprised it took a dogfucker to point it out. Many of the cheaters love using the Dream Ball, which for reference can only be gotten on Pokemon from Dream World and an obscure 3DS app that links with BW2. As you can notice, both of these instances limit Pokemon caught in Dream Balls to Gen 5 only...except the cheated Pokemon in those tournaments not only were the new XY or later Pokemon but the stamp also showed they were naturally caught or raised in those regions. Granted, I think you can pass Dream Balls via breeding and get a proper stamp that way, but again that only limits you to a very small pool of Pokemon that were available as events and giveaways in Gen 5. Your Aegislash is never going to be legal in a Dream Ball.

I'm sorry but that's absolutely retarded. It's like arguing that olympic runners should also make their own shoes from scratch, because not doing so goes against the ethos of running. It's just arbitrary waste of time for something that is already full with time wasters.

This would be a correct assessment if the game itself had genning tools or rentals that let you play in wi-fi or offline competitions. The game doesn't have that, it expects you to raise your Pokemon from scratch every new game(you can't even use Pokemon from previous generations in competitions).
So, using your olympics comparison, you would be arguing that everybody involved should use steroids and similar stimulants to skip the "waste of time" that goes towards training and conditioning yourself for the event. Everybody else is doing it, after all, what's the harm? Not like the judges care, right?

Except steroids allow you gains that you would never be able to achieve otherwise, and training in running is actually running.

You can't even argue it's better for the field since it would mean any experimentation would take too long to be viable, so people will just stick to the same mons.

Correct, glad we're in agreement that you think that cheating should be allowed within competitions, that includes those with tangible prizes.
Why stop there? If it's all about "the gains", why shouldn't men enter Women's competition if they put their pronouns as "ma'am" on the signup sheets? Sure, they will win pretty much every event automatically, but hey, that's not their problem! If the rest of the competitors wanted to win that badly, they would juice up!(which would allow them to stand toe to toe with the trannies, at least in theory)

You're also missing what I said earlier: This is a slippery slope. Today, we allow fake Pokemon with perfect stats caught in balls that shouldn't be possible, tomorrow we will allow illegal movesets or unreleased Hidden Abilities because we already agreed that cheating is "not a big deal". All of this ignoring how bitch-made you are for genning in Pokemon in the first place when raising one shouldn't even take a fraction of the time these supposed "experts" should spend training in simulations and mock-competitions. Even Pokemon nerds have to actually prepare for battles, there is no skipping that part.
Genning is a litmus test for a Pokemon player: If they fail it, they are simply not ready for the big leagues, period. If you're so lazy and incompetent a simple breeding process filters you out, you aren't getting anywhere in the competitive scene unless you have dumb luck on your side. This is just the fraction of autism that goes into these competitions, and you failed at the first hurdle. You are not worthy, simple as that!

Oh lord, we're actually discussing the grey area that is genning Pokémon. (:_(

This always turns into an absolute fuck-jamboree for multiple reasons (wanting to stick it to Nintendo, not having enough time to create the "perfect" Pokémon, not wanting to spend extra cash on other games and/or DLC, etc.) and it always annoys me to see it go this way.

My basic rules for using genned Pokémon is this: Don't gen Pokémon that can be easily obtained using the methods that the game gives you (breeding, Nature Mints, Bottle Caps, Mirror Herbs, etc). Genning Legendaries is fine to an extent, just make sure that the data is completely indistinguishable from one naturally generated in-game since TPCi has ways of seeing that data and can ban you for not getting your Psyducks in a row. I'm 100% serious about this, remember that people were DQ'd for running Home-required Legendaries that lacked a Home flag and I was laughing my ass off when people tried to find excuses for failing that one check.

>B-b-but I have a job and other priorities! If I don't gen my entire team I'll lose valuable time that I use for testi-
Then fuck you, you've reached a point in your life where you'll need to make a decision to find other hobbies that are less time-consuming.

I don't think genning ever has any excuse in a proper game environment. As you said, you get all the tools you need to make a perfect Pokemon naturally and then raise it quickly, past a certain point it's just laziness. The one exception I could make is genning one-per-playthru Pokemon like Legendaries, which are incredibly hard to get a good IV/Nature combo in just one encounter without resetting and you cannot breed them(Phione doesn't count, nobody ever uses Phione).

Genning should only be used in any serious amount within simulators where you play against other people(not any different than using rental Pokemon in Stadium, except they're actually good Pokemon this time) or if you've completed the game already and just want to get a good Battle Tower/Frontier team. In the latter case, you should still raise a good team yourself but I can at least see how some people want to skip that pain in the ass, when there is enough RNG autism involved with the later battles as is(if I remember correctly, some gens have the AI straight up cheat or forcibly give you the worst matchups if you play long enough).

In an actual competitive environment or if you're playing the game normally? It's just pathetic behavior, and you should just find a different hobby at that point, like you said. EV training/breeding for a perfect Pokemon is just one of many mechanics the game has, and if you don't engage with it or can't be bothered to, you're playing the wrong game. Even then, I still say that trading genned Pokemon or creating them for people is immoral, it's one thing if you do it but if you're wiping ass of someone who's too stupid/incompetent to even inject a Pokemon themselves? That's beyond pathetic. Flooding the market with fake, perfect Pokemon is also obviously bad, and it just makes normal shinies or perfect Pokemon that are properly raised not only less special but suspect to most people when they've done nothing wrong. Bad all around.

Imagine being a dude pokemon "pro" player and using a fucking girly pink ball for your pokemon.

I would have gone for the easy "tranny" remark, but there's no light blue.
It's about the exclusivity, guaranteed Hidden Abilities(whole point of Dream Forest in Gen 5) and the pink dream puff that you get when you send out a Pokemon. I like the ball too, but there is a reason why it's so rare, cheating it in just removes the whole point of it. There is a good feeling in using a ball that's rare, exclusive to events or one that fits your Pokemon the most(ie ball autism).
something something the absolute state of /vp/ something something
I dunno, seems innocent. Better than yet another pokegirl/boy coomer thread or vore spam.

O.K., but so is the Beast Ball, and that looks 10x cooler.
Yup, but the Dream Ball controversy started in Gen 6, I believe(before the Beast Ball)
I like the Beast Ball not only because of how it looks but also because you have a whopping 0.1% chance to catch a non-UB Pokemon with it compared to a Pokeball. Good luck catching a Legendary with it, now THAT is prestige if you can pull it off. Shame you only get 40 of them in SM, you can only buy them in USUM.
Then there is the Apriball autism, where you can only get one of each per playthru regardless of the game, and now we have cut content from the Terraleak that suggests they would play a larger role in the game than just being a glorified easter egg hunt to find them all. This made Apriball Mon much more accessible too, before that only HGSS Pokemon transferred all the way to the bank were legal.

I have a shiny dreepy in a beast ball, from SwSh, and it looks so good... I love getting cool balls + shiny combos. Even if most of mine end up being premiere balls, having those few in cool ones is worth it.

I'm always appreciative of people who trade over pokemon in apricorn balls, because the scarcity is dumb! But at least you can (potentially) breed up to something better.

I try to send out themed balls pokemon every Christmas, like heavy ball baxcaliber, beast ball dreepy, love ball galar ponyta, etc. But, hatching in SV is such a ass...
Why did they have to change egg collection in SV? It's the one game where you can't hatch, while still generating more eggs. I know it's because there's no daycare, buuuuuut it's a pain in the ass.

Over the last few years I've gone full balltism mode and I am trying to catch as many Pokemon in fitting balls as possible. In my ongoing(and nearly finished) Revelation Emerald playthru I did my best to catch all legendaries in fitting balls. I think my only real loss was having to capture Rayquaza in an Ultra Ball since I ran out of Nest Balls, but everything else(aside from early game Pokemon) is in appropriate balls. Looking forward to how this will work in later games.

I'd agree if the OP hadn't spent almost 3 hours straight spamming that one thread with those pictures. How and why does he have so many. Where does he find them.

/vp/ is such a dead board that you can usually take it over if you really want to. I wouldn't ask too many questions, I am just happy this didn't devolve into more porn spam or yawnfag/vorefag spam.

I hope they never make a tranny flag ball. It's bad enough poor Sylveon is tranny colored.

My favorites in terms of aesthetics are the luxury ball and the premier ball.
