Has anyone made a romhack based on the Johto anime yet?
No, but after that I tried to play a Hoenn based one. It was bad, truly bad, as I entered houses in Rustboro, I get transported to Celadon's Inn.

You know how Ash gray makes the cutscenes happen in real time? This one describes the scenes with a black screen and that is it. You dont like typos and badly written text? It is all here. phis/special split? In a 2020 hack? Fucking no. Then I enter a house and the screen goes black.

This hack is supposedly finished, but holy shit, all this shit before the first Gym is inexcusable.

I dropped it as hard as I could.

I still have no idea of what to play next, people say lots of good things about Unbound, but I heard a new update is coming in.

I wish GF would change their game design philosophy so you could pick a partner like ash did with pikachu and go from game to game with it. Fuck catching another one or having to beat the game to unlock migration. Ash never had to start over with a pichu or raichu in every region, so why do players have to? The premise of friendship with pokemon falls flat because of this.

Palworld did a better job at being a pokemon game that acts like the anime than any actual pokemon game ever made. The pals actually do live and work with humans instead of it being annoying virtue signaling about “muh friendship”.

Even more annoying when they start with the excessive forced meme nostalgiabaiting over genwun and acting like a starter pokemon is going to actually stick around past the game they were introduced in. when piplup was my first starter and i basically had to abandon it when i played another pokemon game.

Started a new hack, it is basically base emerald with lots of QOL, but with all new gym challenges and smart AI. And holy shit it is kicking my ass. I can't use my normal playthrough strategies since the AI is smart as fuck and the rotation in teams is highly necessary.

I got btfo by wally first battle with his 5 pokemon team lol
Not really interested in hacks because most of the time is some discordtard who has no concept of difficulty balance and genuinely believes that things need to be like dork souls or kaizo mario. Its just not fun to play.

The problem is that regular pokemon is so fucking braindead that every child can beat it.

This hack is interesting since it gives free rare candies, you can heal anywhere so every single battle is harder.

The only time pokémon made a hard mode was in BW2 and it was literally 1 level higher. It is fun to beat a harder battle. I felt more satsifaction In Drayano hacks than a regular game.

This fight is kicking my ass, he is too fast

Because it's a Japanese children's game...

The postgame of the recent ones are pretty difficult when it comes to rematching gym leaders and stuff, but the current combat system doesn't lend well to having difficulty modes.

I think if you're playing Pokemon looking for an ironman or intense challenge you're misunderstanding the point of Pokemon. A challenge would be nice, basing the whole experience around it defeats the point.

You know what would be a REALLY good idea for a pokemon fangame?

You're a computer geek that one day gets sucked inside your computer and the objective is to fix the inside of your computer that's full of viruses. Think the movie "Tron" in which the goal is to get to the main CPU (or brain) and heal it back to normal.

The pokemon you encounter? Glitch Pokemon of course! For starters, you are given a choice between the o.g. Missigno (which would be male) or " 'M (00)" a.k.a. "M Bar" (which would be female since it's considered the sister glitch counterpart to missingno). You train them and they become your best buddies. You can also catch other glitch pokemon in the wold such as "3TrainerPoké $" and "4 4Hy" and "▶ A".

Regarding stats, they could either be kept the way they are in Red/Blue, or retweaked so they aren't completely busted. (3TrainerPoké $, for example, has a total base stat of 725 with only it's HP and Speed being the lowest stats). Evolutions and types would be ket the same along with the movesets, although altered a bit to where glitch moves act like normal moves that do damage or stat effects, but the visual effects should be pretty crazy when they perform the glitched moves (like sprites splitting apart or having the music slow down or become distorted when attacking or something along those lines).

NPC's could be icons of the programs inside the computer that appear in human form to help the protagonist out.

You are describing Digimon, not Pokemon.

Play Digimon Story Cybersleuth.

Poliwhirl was one of six 23-K gold cards from Burger King.

So yeah, they really wanted Poliwhirl as one of the big faces of Pokémon. And honestly, had they given Misty a Poliwag in the first season instead of waiting until the Orange Islands, it actually might have.
It had a lot going against it. One evolution path required a trade with an item, and there are so many better water Pokemon that don't require a trade to get them. They could have buffed Toed and Wrath giving them Gmax or Mega forms, but I think by the time RSE came out they realized Pikachu and Psyduck got more people's attention. Raichu and Pikachu were decent in gen 1 (until you get Zapdos), and you could get a Pikachu early.

Edit: Forgot that Wrath needed Water Stone.

>Pokémon takes one (1) year off the nonstop media blitz it's been undertaking since approx. 2016 (arguably since its inception)
>the whole fucking world conspires to do its marketing for it via massive leaks, murders, and stupid lawsuits tied to it being reported on by mainstream media alongside the usual social media fanaticism around the brand
Starting to genuinely believe that this franchise is favored by God at this point, what the actual fuck is happening. Completely and utterly surreal to see this stupid brand be so dominant in random events this year through sheer repeated coincidence.

Hell, I haven't even mentioned shit like Gumshoos' ear notch coinciding with Trump's first assassination attempt (and the design sharing a generation with a Pokémon that shares Kamala's name) or the rapefics. Seriously, what on earth.

It's the Trump Pokemon, but Gumshoos was Gen 7. It had that ear notch waaaay before the assassination.
