Checked the proto general on /vp/ again, surprisingly enough it's still going even tho the leaker said there would be no new material coming thru.

BTW, most download links are dead by this point, Torrents are still working if you haven't grabbed everything.
The more I learn about what was cut in Gen6 and Gen7, the more angry I get, because it seems like there was actual honest-to-God effort being put into these games with all these ideas but got completely chopped off.

It has to be time constraints that were set by some dickhead in charge that kept saying "NO" to everything. It's the only explanation I can think of that makes sense. A sequel (or at least newer versions of a franchise) should never EVER be removing features (past or new) from their games. I know Pokemon has been doing that kind of crap since forever, but this is just way too fucking much.

Do devs still use Excel on day to day basis in game development? Gamefreak sure was even during development of Sun/Moon(2015/16 btw)
Pretty interesting stuff they got there: Coupons that would lower prices in shops, likely turned into Rotom Bargain, being able to actually flip thru books you read ala Elder Scrolls, an entire event centered around the player's birthday party and a proper ferry level reminiscent of SS Anne where you interacted with NPCs and fought trainers.

I don't remember Eevee even being that popular BITD. It must be a Japan thing (although wasn't Jigglypuff the second most popular after Pikachu, hence it being in Smash?).
Eevee is very popular in Japan - I probably saw more plushies of it than any other Pokemon minus Pikachu when I visited - but from my experience as a Gen 3 baby I'd say it's always been pretty popular. Being featured in the sidegames heavily and getting new Eeveelutions, often in more niche typings, has kept it a lot more relevant than even many starters. It's certainly comparable to Lucario in terms of being recognizable at this point.

I never cared for eevee to this day. Eevee should have a third evolution stages for each type

"The year is 2038 although I've lost track of the months. All starters have been replaced by eeveelutions. We struggle to fend off the Tranny hoards, their furry abomination allies probe our defenses at every turn. Pokemon such as Koffing, Magnemite, or that one ice cream cone line are all but myths now... I yearn for the days when Cubone was thought to be an orphaned Charmander...

They pound at the gate! The hinges scream! The wood splinters! All is lost!"

Troons and fujos can latch onto anything
You know, troons are like "you can be everything you want" and eeveelutions are often used as posterboys for pride shit.

1998: you are stuck as an ugly yellow rat that can't even evolve but you still can fuck with huge rhinos if you aim for the horn.

As a guy around since Gen 1, Eevee was always popular and in a real way it was recognized as such since Yellow with Gary Blue/Green's starter being Eevee and changing into Jolteon/Flareon/Vaporeon depending on how many times you whooped him in the story (I like he evolved it into Jolt in an attempt to match Ash Red's Pikachu if you smacked him around enough), and cemented with the Gen 2 Eeveelutions and Red having an Espeon - IMO a roundabout way of confirming its Gen 1 starter status (though yes, I know Red's logically comes from the gift Eevee you get in story).

That said, Eevee becoming a Big Deal Pokemon in more recent gens, in the way people are talking about it, is in the same vein as Gengar suddenly getting all this extra merch and attention - Gen 1 nostalgia.

Eh, I disagree. Eevee has always been consistently a big deal throughout the five original gens; there's not a single one where it doesn't either feature as a first Pokemon (counting sidegames) or get an eeveelution, and most of the games would limit you to one without breeding/trading. There was also plenty of merch of Eevee back in the aughts too, unlike Gengar et al - it's design is very marketable to kids.

The (imo) astroturfed Gen 1 nostalgia only really started in Gen 6, and we've only had one new Eeveelution and one game where it's a first Pokemon since. None of the Eeveelutions got Megas, and while Eevee got a Z-move, none of its evolutions did nor did they get Alola forms, which were given out generously to far more forgettable Gen 1 mons.

I was thinking of replaying some old shit: pokemon ash gray or naranja

I am sure I played Ash gray and I loved it, not sure about naranja... Any recs?

I dove for 50 pages back in the "funny pictures" thread and I couldn't find the one with the 4chan post describing Melvin the magician, nor could be 100% sure it was there.

This was also around the time that gen 5 was getting a lot of hate so suits must have been shouting at them to play it safe.

Finally beat the champion of the Islands in Golden Glazed. Man My team was so ass, I cant understand why Grapploct was so shit. He was slow as fuck and his defs were paperthin, him not being water type is insane.

I HATED the hisui Decidueye, slow fucker and also would get BTFO by lots of moves. He wasnt reliable at all, he was so slow I had to use priority moves to at least hit someone first sometimes

I loved Basculegion, such a cool pokemon and was a reliable special attacker and was the last team mate to be added.

Now the goats of the team:

Iron Valiant. Jesus no matter the game, the Ralts line are absolutely amazing and will help you anytime.

And the goat of the goats, my FUCK YOU button Tinkaton with its King's Rock that would Flinch Anyone no matter what.

This modified version of Glazed is such a weird game, I don't know about the original game, but the overworld was amazing and it had cool maps and functions. The problem is the absolute shit story. I thought it couldn't get worse but it did, jesus christ the last islands resolution was terrible.

After beating the champion of the Island, I defeated the tunod league again who was stronger and went to the johto league and they were lvl 93 in the first pokemon so This rematch may be even harder than before so not right now.

Anyone who played, what is left to do after the islands champions?

I completely forgot that Pokémon's Sacramento Regionals occurred over the weekend. Here are the standings for the TCG.

As far which decks are in there I'm not too surprised by Regidrago VSTAR taking up 5 spots in the top 8, what does surprise me is that none of them actually at the podium. As for the decks that got 1st, 2nd and 3rd place those spots belong to two Miraidon ex decks (1st and 2nd) and a Gholdengo ex deck (3rd).
