That actually would have made more sense than the Alolan Golem line we got, specifically since Rhyhorn/Rhydon already has Lightning Rod as an ability. Hell, throw a Alolan Rypherior to the mix and give it a different design. Give them all a SpDef boost at the cost of their Def so it balances out. I can only imagine how much better Eviolite Rhydon would be with that set-up when it wouldn't have to worry about 2 quad weaknesses anymore taking it out in one shot. Hell, if Alolan Rhypherior still had Solid Rock, it could actually survive shit.

The area the player was supposed to access the fossils in was cut from the game, it ended up being that pikachu trailer park only available in Ultra games. Note that there is supposed to be a cave/grotto past the water, likely where player was supposed to swim to retrieve the fossils, and that the means to revive the fossils are on the exact same island.
That Munchlax is pretty damning, there is no reason for it to be there and it always stuck out to me. Ditto for Ribombee and Bruxish being so weak, makes sense if they were not originally their final forms. I am guessing that A-Seel was either an early version of Popplio or cut when it became redundant. Same goes for A-Rhyhorn, as even back in Gen 1 these two were pretty much the same.
The real robbery was the Fairy Type Scyther, I love the base variant and I already hate how much superior Scizor is. It's interesting that Turtonator was supposed to get pre-evos as well, that implies that it was either going to be available much earlier or that each version would have a unique Dragon to it's name, one having Kommo-o and the other having Turtonator.

I like Rhyperior but Rhydon is the cooler design and I'm curious how they would've handled a second attempt at an evolution.

Totem araquanid, as you have little resources to cheese that fight at this point in the game. Especially If nuzlocking. His Bubble is like 120 power with rain, Stab and ability plus it can heal with leech life, lower your attack and speed, make you 30% flinch with bite and holds an electric resist berry.
Run ender if you kill dewpider first and gets a bit lucky here and there.
I used three flying types and paralysis to beat him and lost four team members. You can get the z crystal for bird type but you have to backtrack to get it, a thing that is rare in alola

I just want to say that your post is very informative, and you're 1000% right about new ms paint. I keep a copy of old windows xp paint downloaded just for the exact same reasons you talked about (the UI in windows 11 paint kills me).

My one complaint, is that I can't see how they would, in good conscious, make garchomp's shiny like that, unless it was just a computer deciding it. A human wouldn't have decided that garchomp was good....

To be fair Beedrill has more in common with wasp and hornets than it does bees, the coloration and its highly territorial nature are big giveaways.

The asian giant hornet (beedrill irl) is nightmare fuel its stinger can easily tear humans flesh apart and only five stings are lethal. They can even remember human faces.

Yeah it doesn't make a big diff but Type Null and Silvaly fans must be happy (despite confirmation in SuMo code and pokedex bg), and Phione fans in shambles, all - 4 of them.

How disappointing, it doesn't mangle the actual design of the maps, what that guy has done is just give everything a wrong warp. Aka door A takes you to exit BK, door B takes you to exit E, etc. Other than doors and entrances not leading to where they're supposed to, the map itself is unchanged.

Male hornets, wasps and bees don't have stingers. It would defeat the point of Beedrill anyway. But maybe the male should have smaller stingers? When I first saw Combee I thought of the carpenter bee because the male has a mark on its face. But with Combee it's the female who has the mark. Probably just coincidence.

Remember, they cut Oddish line so you can't have Bellossom naturally in Alola, despite it not only being perfect for the hula dress aesthetic but there also being a trainer class this pokemon would go perfectly with.

From what I've read Hawaii's issues with chickens is a complex one.

• There are feral populations of domestic chickens on multiple islands (Kona seems to have avoided it, although they are dealing with invasive coquí frogs). The assumption among locals is that said populations are the result of Hurricane Iniki destroying chicken coops across the state, including those used to house fighting chickens.
• They hybridize with populations of red junglefowl that the ancient Polynesians brought to Hawaii when they arrived.
• Laws regarding the capture of feral chickens by civilians is a grey area. You can catch then if they're feral domestic chickens but if they're red junglefowl you'll be in violation of certain local laws (the Migratory Bird Treaty is mentioned in some articles but they're all from 2021 and the list species protected by the MBT was altered in 2023).
• It's expensive to catch 'em. Honolulu spent $7,000 to catch 'em in 2022 and they only ended up nabbing 67 birds, resulting in each bird costing $104. According to press reports the high costs is in large part due to people destroying and/or vandalizing the traps.
• The only people that seem to have a problem with 'em are transplants moving to Hawaii. The locals don't mind them and, outside of a rooster crowing at 4 in the morning and harrassing you when you eat outside, tourists think they're charming.
